Go out to the surrounding towns with friends, or stay in and drink casually with a close few. Big parties do happen at MHC, but they're a little sad. Always school sponsored. You have the five colleges right nearby, though.

Hop on the PVTA and get off campus, though there are fun things on campus as well.

Parties at nearby colleges like Hampshire, Umass, and Amherst. Lots of shopping in cute stores in North Hampton near Smith College.

There is a lot to do for fun. You just have to decide what your idea of fun is. There are plenty of opportunities to go to parties on the weekend, or you can go into one of the academic buildings and watch a movie with friends.

There is a vibrant music and theatre life on campus; the school's student-run theatre organisation puts on shows almost bi-weekly- that are definitely worth a visit. Student organisations host dances on the weekends as fundraisers, which, depending, can be a blast or a bust.

Go to the gym, take a walk around the lake, parties, go to the small near by towns, the mall to see movies, and even go to Boston or NYC for long weekends.

It is fun to hop on the PVTA (free bus system between the five colleges) and head over to Amherst or Northampton for an afternoon. There are some great bookstores and odd shops in and around the main streets of those towns. Mount Holyoke itself does have quite a bit going on around campus though if one pays attention to the bulletin boards as there are events pretty much every weekend on or nearby campus.

Mount Holyoke is part of the Five College Consortium in the Pioneer Valley of Western Mass. Smith College, Amherst College, Hampshire College, and University of Massachusetts Amherst are all within a free bus ride's distance. There are always sponsored events on every campus, and plenty of athletic games, artistic performances, museums, concerts, and other shows to attend!

Mount Holyoke has a wide variety of clubs you can join; some are linked to academics or community service, but some are just for fun. In addition to ample campus events every day, there are weekly shuttles to the malls, a small theater across the street, many trips off-campus, and free transportation in the Pioneer Valley on the PVTA bus system. You also have access to the events hosted by UMass Amherst, Smith, Hampshire, and Amherst colleges. Or you can even take the Peter Pan buses to New York or Boston for the weekend.
