There is a free transportation shuttle on campus that can take you either Santa Monica or Westwood areas. The city life is always a nice de-stressor from a busy week. With a quiet little campus in the hills, its nice to know your in between a beach and the city if your looking for something to do outside of school. As for on campus there are hike trails behind the campus, a free gym, pool and courts. Also, student programming has discounted tickets and city life recommendations if your interested in a day of adventure or cultural inspiration.

I love to hang out in the library. Not only is the library a perfect place to get my work done, but it is also a beauty. I have no problem spending the majority of my day in the library, the scenic views are amazing, there are cool spots to study and plenty of room for study groups. Who does like a private room to study in with a group of friends? By far my favorite place to spend my time in.

Mount Saint Mary's is located in Los Angeles, so there is a lot to explore! You can go to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Griffith Observatory (amazing views of the city), the beach, Universal Studios, The Grove, concerts, museums, parks, and much more. During my first semester, I only had one class on Fridays and it ended at 9 a.m. Instead of going home right away, I would take the subway train to explore the city. The train is steps away from the school. I would go to Sunset Boulevard a lot. Making new friends on campus is also fun. The school provides movie nights, community service opportunities, cookie Mondays (free cookies for everyone), and other entertaining events for students.

I like to hang out in town. West Los Angeles is where life happens. You can take a free shuttle down to Westwood village and shop and eat there. Also, the shuttles take you to Third Street Promenade (for those of you who do not know what that is, its basically a huge street mall with night lights and street performances--near the Santa Monica Pier/Beach. It is beyond amazing. Night life here is quite a thrill). Also, I like to work out at the campus gym. The machines are all up to date and a hour work out session is always great after a stressful week.

The school has activities and workshops at least once a month. There is a lounge on campus that has board games, a TV and a Foosball table.

There are two Mount St. Mary's campus', the Doheny campus and the Chalon campus. The Doheny campus is located near USC and the Chalon campus is in Brentwood area. I am more familiar with the Chalon campus and there isn't much to do on campus because of how secluded it is, to do anything you would need to drive off campus.

As with any college there are various events and clubs to join. Studying abroad is a great option if you're tired of the same-old-same-old.There's plenty to see around the campus - historic sights, shopping, dining, and more.
