Around Town

Mount Vernon is basically in the middle of nowhere; you have to get creative ! One night we plate hide and seek in the chapel, another night we played Walmart tag; it is all about being spontaneous and making memories, that is when you have the most fun!

There isn't much but you can go bowling, disc golfing, and biking.

You can hang out with friends, head down to the Student Union, or go around town to the many places college students love.

There is not much to do in the town except play sports. The school is located in the middle of the country.

Intramurals is the main thing that you can do for fun. You can also be involved in the events that happen on campus as well. Other than that, it most of the fun is off campus.

See some of Mt. Vernon, and definitely try attending a 1st Friday event.

At MVNU, you get to be creative with your time, and if you're not a creative person, the student life creates great campus events to dive into. Mount Vernon is known for Sonfest, which is a day-long concert with Christian bands. Outside of that though, there are events in the town of Mount Vernon, like First Friday where students can get involved with the community. We also offer intramural sports and various clubs and organizations, from cycling club to S.I.F.E.

The student union is an option for fun. They have ping pong tables, televisions, Foosball tables, and pool tables. Also there are dorm events, clubs, intramurals, and lots of things to be involved in.

There are many community service groups on campus that offer on campus activities as well as traveling opportunities. We also have local movie theater, bowling alley, ice cream shops, a small family style water park, plus many hiking trails and water falls. Also from MVNU, you can be to either Polaris, Mansfield, or Heath Malls all within a 45minute driving time.
