Walls are parties that are held on Fridays and Saturdays and they aren't for everyone, including me. No one will pressure you into going, though, and some of the themes are fun. We recently had a halloween wall and this weekend there is a pokemon wall. We like dressing up here and there is always a lot of open mics and events occuring on campus.

Walk down to the bay, go to the fitness center, swing, watch a movie being shown on campus, walk around the neighborhood.

There are a few things to do on campus. Normally there is a party or a club or a random get together where you can go hang out with interesting people and do any given thing. There is also the museum, The Ringling Museum, we get into for free. The beach is not but 10 minutes away (walking). You can always start up a club or a get together.

Walls and Wallternatives are New College parties that are thrown every Friday and Saturday and usually involve lots of music and dancing. Wallternatives are more 'get-together' type parties that are less chaotic and usually involve playing video games and other more calm partying as an alternative for those who don't like big parties but want to socialize.

Lido beach is 25 minutes away and is accessible by the city buses. Downtown Sarasota and St. Armand's Circle are fun tourist traps as well. The campus has a Sail Club that will allow students to take out kayaks and sail boats for free. They also offer sailing and wind surfing lessons. There are campus parties every Friday and Saturday. There are plenty of clubs for students to get involved in and the residential assistants try to organize little events throughout the semester. Volunteer opportunities are equally abundant.

Go Downtown! One 10 minute bus ride and you're there! The shops are fantastic. If you're stuck on campus, there are always thing going on. Various clubs have outings and there are scheduled parties each weekend.
