Socorro is a very small town and there isn't a lot of options for recreation and entertainment beyond the college campus itself. This can be good because it is easier to focus on homework, but after four years Socorro can feel pretty small. An upside is that everyone you know lives five minutes away from you at most so it is really easy to get activities going if you want. Depending on what you like, this could be a great fit for you.

» Read MoreYes, I grew up in Denver, Colorado, so at first the move to Socorro, New Mexico was hard. Socorro is an extremely different environment from a big city but there are many activities besides school that help keep many busy. For example, I am a huge work out buff being that i played football in high school so i often use the work out facilities here, which are phenomenal. In addition to my work out schedule I have also picked up rock climbing/ bouldering since i began attending NMT.
