Read your textbooks! Listen in class and then go home and go over the slides while taking notes! Do not try and write down notes from the slides while the teacher is talking in class or else you will not hear anything he/she has to say.

Make sure that you have your financial aid, scholarships, and grants together before getting here. This school is about $15,000 a semester, so you need to have a financial plan. Also, VERY IMPORTANT: STAY ON TOP OF YOUR STUFF. The financial aid office, bursar, and Student Solutions Center don't really help you unless you nag them to. You will have to go and find things out for yourself a lot of times, so just be aware of what is going on. Check your nyit.edu e-mail as well as personal e-mail often.
