    Bang for the buck

When attending North Arkansas College, you are definitely getting the education you need and are paying for. Teachers work to ensure that you are grasping the information they give you and that you have all of the resources that you need available at any time.

    Food and Dining

While North Arkansas college has an on-campus grill, there is also a variety of places to eat around campus, depending on what any student desires.

    Dorm Life

As I do not live on campus, I am unaware of the current dorm life of North Arkansas College.

    Academic Rigor

North Arkansas College has a strict No Tobacco or Alcohol policy, which is acted upon quickly should someone disregard that rule. Also, North Arkansas College seeks to uphold its outstanding academic status by encouraging great academic integrity. Should someone plagiarize or cheat on a test, they will be taken to the academic integrity office, expelled from the college, and have a black mark placed on their academic transcript.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not sit around and tell yourself you can remember everything - you can't. Be sure to take notes over anything the professors place in front of you, and be sure to get every assignment done on time, while meeting or surpassing the requirements. Finally, respect the teachers and students and they will respect you in return.

    In three sentences

The teacher-student ratio at North Arkansas college has appeared to be quite maintainable, as there are normally no more than 25 students per classroom. Teachers have also shown a great appreciation for their abilities to help students in need no matter the time or place. I am quite impressed with the quality of North Arkansas College.

There is a cafeteria but I have not used it as I live close enough to come home to eat.

    Dorm Life

this does not apply to me

    Academic Rigor

The staff at North Ark will work with the students to learn anything they don't know but they expect you to do your part to learn everything they are teaching. After taking one science class I was able to test as having done 2 years worth of science.

    Tips for prospective students

Look on line at the class offerings and try to plan your schedule before going in to see the counselor as this will speed things along.

    In three sentences

North Ark is a great place to go back to school. I am over 40 and going to college for the first time. The staff has helped me with everything I have asked for help with.

Northark is the type of college that has a lot of resources and shows students that they can use those resources for anything. I love going here, it's not that big yet it has a lot to offer and you can get one-on-one when needed. I definitely would recommend it if your just wanting to get an associates or just go two years than transfer.

    Campus Safety

Nothing bad ever happens here. I'm sure there's been a few reports of things like stealing, break-ins, and stuff that dumb people do sometimes, but no one has ever been murdered, kidnapped, or anything like that here. It's a safe campus, trust me!

    Greek Life

    None of that here.

    Clubs and Activities

Agri Club, Student Government, Narrative Club, Phi Theta Kappa, Chi Alpha, sports events, and many fundraising events for charities.

Great for these types of students

Students who are wanting to save money but still get a good education. Nursing students (we have an amazing nursing program), and just anyone who wants to get a small-school experience before they finally move on to a university or who just want an associate's degree. (We also have some online 4 year degrees)

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

I can't think of anything unusual, but also I'm the type of student who comes to class, goes to the library sometimes to do work, then goes home. But I haven't heard or seen anything unusual here.

    Bang for the buck

Northark is definitely a good choice for when you get out of high school. Instead of going to a 4 year university when I graduated, I knew I could save a ton of money going here for 2 years then transferring. Northark's tuition and fees are so affordable it's unbelievable. If you qualify for grants or scholarships, you go here for free practically. I have and I can't imagine already having debt to pay back after these 2 years. So if you're looking for a place to save money and get an education Northark is the place you want to go!

    What to do for fun

Well Harrison is kind of boring. The college has events sometimes like sports events of course, during the summer we had an outside movie night at our amphitheater, there's several clubs like the agri club and narrative club, but I can't think of anything else. Harrison is only 40 minutes away from Branson, Missouri and only an hour and a half away from Fayetteville, AR (Go Hogs!) and Springfield, Missouri.

    Food and Dining

We have the Grill, and the food is pretty good. I've only gotten their fries and chicken strips (which were both really good), but I've heard their salads and wraps are awesome. There are vending machines all over campus, and there's a Dairy Queen right next to the college where many of us go eat every once in awhile. Harrison has tons of restaurants, so there's always somewhere to go eat.

    Dorm Life

No dorms here!! It's a 2 year college, so your dorm is wherever you live: home, apartment, whatever.

    Academic Rigor

The workload is average here, but this college isn't a breeze. You have to do your work - it is college, after all. The classes aren't necessarily difficult, but they're not all super easy either. Like all colleges, some professors make the classwork more rigorous than others. You just have to be careful to not pile too many of those classes together in one semester.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't ever be afraid to ask for help! Almost all of the teachers here will help you with your work when you ask politely. Also, be sure to take some fun classes every now and then as electives, you will thoroughly enjoy them! I'm taking Photography and I love it!

    In three sentences

One of the most welcoming schools I've ever visited. The teachers and staff want you to succeed and will go out of their way to help you when you ask them. Northark isn't a breeze, but it's definitely a cost-effective and enjoyable place to go learn and grow as an individual.
