Categories Comments Tips for prospective students NFCC will allow you to build a great educational foundation before heading to a University of your choice. The Instructors here are great and will do all they can to see their students succeed.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The funny approacable security guard roams the school 24/7. He is always on the lookout for unusual activity on capus grounds. He is also has a great personality and is easy to approach.
What to do for fun In the cafeteria there is a ping-pong section where students gather around and play. It is engaging and a lot of fun. There are also many clubs, where students can get together and make new friends. There are many dances organized by SGA, where students and faculty can have a good time and release the stress.
Food and Dining The food is great and none expensive. There is a large variety of food available and convenient snack machines. WiFi is available in the cafeteria and you will constantly find students working with their laptops open. The cafeteria is a great time to catch up on homework, friends, and refuel your body.
Dorm Life There are no dorms in most community colleges. I am really close to the college so there is no point in having a dorm. Some students live far however and dorm would be great for them.
Academic Rigor All classes are like newborn babies, they require your constant attention and complete devotion. If you want good grades you have to be willing to spend most of your time studying. Checking your emails and paying attention in classes will be of major help.
Tips for prospective students Always keep your student ID handy, you will need it for tests, the library, and tutor labs. As soon as you can learn your Student ID number, it will be very important. Always check your school email, even on weekends, for many professors weekends is the only free time to send emails. Do not be afraid to participate during class, it is the best way to learn. Do not procrastinate, it is one of the worst mistakes any student can make.
In three sentences A small warm, college with colossal opportunities. Approachable staff whom are always eager to help. Small classes for a close, bond-building experience.

Categories Comments Am learning a lot North Florida Community Colleges is one of the best by far. Teachers work hands-on with the students, and the classes are smaller, so it's pretty easy to fit in to. There are wide-ranging subjects such as arts, computer technology, sciences, nursing, education, etc. It is the perfect place to get your AA, because the counselors will tell you what you need and allow you the freedom of deciding what's best for you. It's more affordable for in-state tuition, which is great for people like me, who live close-by. NFCC offers a variety of things not offered elsewhere, like a one-on-one tutor, or even the ability to become a tutor yourself. I have thoroughly enjoyed my teachers, all very bright and charming, and the warm feel of the school itself. I would not make any other choice if I had to.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students great for all types of students! there are programs/courses for students with disabilities, students that would rather learn online, students that would rather learn in a classroom, students that prefer very serious teachers, as well as students who prefer laid back teachers.
Bang for the buck as i said, i am a dual enrollment student, so my tuition is paid for as long as i am in high school. however, i happen to know the tuition rate for in-state students. the rate for in-state students is $91.50, which is cheap compared to most college's. the teachers do a fine job of teaching here and a lot is learned.
What to do for fun there are many organizations and activities that nfcc provides for its' students. student government as well as soar (a science club) are two very popular organizations along with the drama department. there are dances, contests, plays, and field trips for almost any type of student.
Food and Dining the snack bar, located in the student center, is delicious! it has a variety of different hot and cold sandwiches along with various styles of chicken, and some international food. it is open for lunch and breakfast, and both are very tasty especially considering the low prices of the meals. besides the snack bar, there are a few fast food and sit-down restaurants near the campus, but none quite compare to our own!
Dorm Life since this is a community college, there are not any dorms available! there are apartments for rent in madison, however, if your commute is much too long.
Academic Rigor these classes uphold the standards of any university's classes in terms of academic rigor. lots of studying is involved, but with smaller classes, it is much more of a possibility to achieve an 'a' because most teachers can find the time to help to help a student if they are really struggling.
Tips for prospective students for any students that are considering an education through nfcc, i would say, be sure to sign up very quickly for classes because they can fill up fast. also, if you don't know anyone on campus, try getting involved with student government. they can make awesome things happen! i would encourage face-to-face classes rather than online classes, simply because face-to-face classes can almost guarantee that one-on-one time can happen with a professor. if there are classes that you fear or dread but have to take anyways, go to the free tutoring lab and someone is almost always there to help.
In three sentences on a scale of one to ten, i would say that north florida community college is an 8. i am a high school student that has been taking dual enrollment classes here, and personally, i have enjoyed my experience, even if some of the professors are a little odd. the campus is beautiful, the instructors are fair, the food is great, and there are many opportunities for students to do their best.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is always a few security officers around and patrolling. If a student is taking night classes and need an escort, they will escort them to their car or to the class. The campus is handicap accessible and is becoming more so each semester. Everything is pretty close to each other so a student does not have to worry too much about having to cross an area where incoming traffic is.
Greek Life The only Greek organization that I know of is Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society which I am apart of. This organization is based on academics and is not easy to get into. It's a great organization to be a part of.
Clubs and Activities There are a few clubs and activities on campus such as art club, astronomy club, NFCC Brain Bowl Team, Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, Student Government Association, etc.. For the school size, they have a decent amount of clubs.
Great for these types of students This school is great for those that want to be close to home. Students that want to have a more personal classroom setting. Students that want to obtain a two-year degree or certification. Students that want to remain close to home and still receive their BA. There are many other reasons students may want to attend NFCC besides these listed.
What to do for fun On-campus, the student government hosts various activities and events. There are often concerts, plays, and art shows going on. Off-campus, there is not much to do other than attending the local school's sporting events or there is the option to travel to the nearby cities.
Food and Dining There aren't many options for vegetarians but for anyone else the school is surrounded by fast food places. There aren't many, but it's enough. On campus, there is a restaurant in the student center that offers a variety of foods and it tastes good. Off campus, there's a Pizza Hut, Subway, Burger King, McDonald's, Hungry Howie's, Chinese Restaurant, Mexican Restaurant, and KFC. Farther out, there is also a Denny's, Waffle House, Dairy Queen, and Wendy's which are all located in Madison, Florida.
Dorm Life There was a time when NFCC did have housing for students, but as far as I know that has been down away with for awhile now. However, NFCC is a local college and there are apartments in Madison, Florida that students are able to rent. Also, the school is surrounded by six counties and borders Georgia (which the school is about forty-five minutes from Valdosta, Georgia) so if students are able to travel, they can make the trip from another area.
Academic Rigor At NFCC, there are some classes that will definitely present a challenge. Though, there are some classes that may be easier to get by than others. Students will definitely have to commit to doing the work in and outside of the classrooms. Paying attention in class is one of the most important tips.
Tips for prospective students NFCC has transferable college credit programs that are accepted at major universities. NFCC has partnerships with universities so that students can stay local and achieve their baccalaureate degree. If students prefer personal college experience where teachers know students by name then NFCC is the place for them. The student advisors and other staff members are extremely friendly and helpful so if you ever need to know anything, just ask. Study! Study! Study! You have to truly study hard to pass these classes.
In three sentences NFCC is a great school that has a small teacher-student ratio which gives student much more one-on-one communication than other institutions. NFCC is very hands on and encourages student participation not only in classrooms but during on-campus activities as well. NFCC is local and affordable.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities NFCC offers a variety of different clubs from astronomy club, to ecology clubs. Most of the clubs take fun off campus trips as well.
What to do for fun There are plenty of hang out places around campus. From the student center, to the gazebo and nature trails behind the college.
Food and Dining The food is good, and at a good price.
Dorm Life There are no dorms at NFCC.
Academic Rigor Some classes are laid back, while others are extremely rigorous. It all depends on the teacher as well.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to speak to an adviser, and during fall and spring semesters remember to register for classes as soon as possible as the classes fill quickly.
In three sentences North Florida Community College is an excellent place to get into the academic rigor that a college requires. The teachers are all extremely nice. Financial Aid is easy to acquire.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is small but there are security personnel around campus, the main office located in the Student Center. The personnel also ride around campus to make sure it is safe for the students.
Greek Life The Honor Society Phi Theta Kappa is the closest to Greek Life there is on campus.
Clubs and Activities There aren't many club or activities per se. There are a handful of clubs that try to accomplish tasks when there are enough members present.
Great for these types of students Students wanting a stepping stone between high school and university, adult students coming back to school, anyone and everyone.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The Student Government Association usually does a party of some sort every semester the first or second week back to class.
Bang for the buck For the relatively small tuition price, the classes are exceptional. Every penny spend was worth it at the college except for maybe a few textbooks I didn't really use, but they're great reference material.
What to do for fun The chapter of Student Government Association at the college tries to have at least 1 major event every semester. There are sometimes other events from Student Support Services or the local office of Saint Leo.
Food and Dining There is a cafe on campus that serves breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately, there is not a dollar menu but there are large portions which makes the price more reasonable. There are a few fast food places in the city, I think within 2 miles of campus.
Dorm Life There are no dorms, the majority of the students live in the area or commute.
Academic Rigor The majority of classes I took seemed very easy to me. There are some classes that are quite advanced and were a bit difficult for me. There are many classes with writing requirements.
Tips for prospective students Don't procrastinate, especially in classes with a lot of writing or the science classes. Be on time for class and leave when class is over. Some professors will start giving quizzes at the beginning and/or end of class if the majority of the class is late or leave early.
In three sentences Overall, I have loved my experience at North Florida Community College. I got along with most of the people. There is a great program through Student Support Services for students to receive tutoring by current and previous students of the College.
