Great for these types of students

North Greenville is fantastic for students who want a small school environment and a chance to develop lots of relationships with both fellow students and professors. Class sizes are small, so there is a lot of professor to student interaction. North Greenville has very strong business and education programs, so it is ideal for students pursuing either major. The university has a great success rate in finding internships and jobs for students in both of these majors.

    Tips for prospective students

To get the most out of North Greenville University, get involved immediately. Find clubs, organizations, and intramural sports you enjoy. North Greenville is full of terrific people. Take every chance you have to meet people with common interests.

    Bang for the buck

North Greenville is really well priced for a private university. It doesn't have a lot of hidden fees either. The paperwork is straightforward and you will know exactly what you are paying for and how much.

Great for these types of students

Christ-serving, easy-going, students who do not like big schools. NGU is a lot like high school, without the dramatics and with much more freedom.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not come to NGU if you are not willing to follow the rules listed in the handbook. You will not enjoy yourself, and you will probably get kicked out.

    Bang for the buck

Though there are many generous scholarships for residents of South Carolina, the tuition at NGU is not unreasonable for a private, Christian university. The dorm rooms are nice, and many are new. The education is good, and the cafeteria holds a variety of tasteful food for every meal. NGU students receive free access to every home athletic event.

    Am enjoying being here

Almost everyone is really friendly! Students are polite and have no problem helping you find anything you need. The smaller size of the campus promotes unity among the student body. When you recognize people, it helps in feeling comfortable. The dorms are nice, and the rules are not overly strict. Christianity is emphasized at NGU, which creates a pleasant atmosphere.

    Am learning a lot

The class sizes are small and manageable. Teachers, for the most part, genuinely care about their students. Most of the professors know students by name, and that makes them feel like more than just a number or a grade. The classes are challenging, but not overly difficult. With time-management and good study habits, NGU is a great place to attain your desired degree.

Great for these types of students

North Greenville University is a great school for students wanting to go to a Christian University to grow closer to God. It is a great school for students that don't want to go to a huge school because the professors have smaller classes and can take more time with the students.

    Tips for prospective students

When you find out that the class that you are taking requires you to write a lot of papers, do them early on and take them to the Writing Center to be proofread by professors and other students. Do not wait until the last minute to do these papers and projects.

    Am enjoying being here

This is a great school for students who want to learn and earn a degree and also learn more about Christ.

Everyone here wants the students to feel like they're at home and wants them to be comfortable.

Psychology clubs and other clubs not only do activities associated with their major, but also do volunteer work together.

Great for these types of students

North Greenville University offers strong academic careers in psychology, biology, education, business, Christian ministries, and mathematics. This school will meet the expectations of students wanting to engage in and learn how to critically think in a specific field of study.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The campus house a prayer chapel for students to meet to pray along with an old fashioned bell that chimes every hour during the day. There are swings throughout the campus and it is believed that different swings represent engagement, talking to someone, and just friends. Also, when the president walks throughout the campus, he is known to give hugs and smile to everyone he passes.

    Bang for the buck

North Greenville University provides more than a formal education. This university allows students to build strong friendships with students, academic professors, the president of the university, and provides a strong, applicable education.

    What to do for fun

Downtown Greenville, Caesar's Head trails, and Reedy River are less than thirty minutes from the school for outside activities. Students can get involved with clubs on campus such as the Psychology or Biology Club. There are always activities going on around campus and many activities to do in neighboring areas.

    Food and Dining

The food and dining is diverse and ranges to meet food allergies and different tastes. Pizza, sandwiches, hamburgers, and chicken sandwiches are given every day along with a special, soup, salad, an American supper, and a dessert bar. Dining services also offer meal replacements under the dining hall for more choices and gives each resident student $65 dollars to Einstein's, a coffee and sandwich shop nearing the campus.

    Food and Dining

not really spectacular and most of the time you end up eating the same thing over and over again but this is really the only short-coming of this university and can be overlooked when they do have their good days.

    Dorm Life

the dorms aren't the most impressive things and sometimes it's hard to get things fixed in them but all in all the dorms are pretty nice and they do serve the function that they are designed for.

    Academic Rigor

the professors here are all really good and will be happy to work with you if you are willing to work with them and show some kind of work ethic in their class.

    Tips for prospective students

the most important thing to remember is to study hard and be willing to work when your professor tells you to do something to get it done as soon as possible because it is very easy to get behind on assignments and end up with ten different things to get done on the same day, depending on the work load of course.

    In three sentences

north greenville is a beautiful college and it has a very close feel to it. it's not the biggest university and it doesn't have the biggest and most luxurious classrooms but it does have very good teachers in every department and all of them will help any student that goes to them and wishes for some kind of extra help and will even give you a tutor to help you with problems you have when they aren't available. all in all ngu is a very good school with a lot of good professors.

    Greek Life

There is no Greek Life at NGU.

Great for these types of students

North Greenville University is great for the student who is looking for a Christ-centered education, but not at the exclusion of what is going on in the world. For those desiring a smaller campus feel (with smaller classrooms) and a true connection with their professors, NGU is a wonderful environment in which to learn.

    Bang for the buck

To receive a private education is never cheap, but for those who take the leap of faith and work hard and apply for scholarships, NGU has very reasonable tuition rates and will also work with families as they apply for student loans.

    What to do for fun

Being nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, NC affords a lot of opportunities to be outside. The campus offers many different activities and going into the nearest city is only 30 minutes away!

    What to do for fun

Well, North Greenville is literally out in the middle of nowhere so we have to get creative. We go hiking, have movie nights, go stargazing, hang out in each others rooms, go to the bagel shop, go to the game room, and go to downtown Greenville to hang out and eat.

    Food and Dining

Like any college's cafeteria, North Greenville's food isn't exactly scrumptious but it is not awful. There is always variety of foods to pick from and if you don't like any of them there is always pizza, cereal, or salad. They also have a comment card where you can make suggestions of what you want them to serve. North Greenville also has a grill where they serve chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, grilled cheese, etc but also good subs. So that is where most people go on the weekends.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life can be pretty fun if you make it to be! Many times my friends and I will have a movie night on the weekends or will just chill out with each other in our dorms. We also have gone stargazing and that was pretty fun! Since North Greenville is academically rigorous most of the times people are either in the library, their dorms, or at the bagel shop studying, but on the weekends we try to have fun with movie nights, etc.

    Academic Rigor

North Greenville is academically rigorous in any major but especially if you are a Biology, Music, or Education major. BUT, as I said before, the staff/teachers care deeply about you so they will help you as much as they are allowed to if you are struggling or don't get a concept in a certain subject.

    Tips for prospective students

I encourage prospective students to stay the night in a dorm at North Greenville University and get the full feel of North Greenville to see if it is really for them. I also encourage prospective students (if you can't stay the night) to take a day tour of North Greenville because that really shows you what North Greenville is all about!

    In three sentences

North Greenville is the best university to be at because everyone is very friendly and all the teachers/staff care DEEPLY about you! North Greenville University is also Christ-centered and HE is their main focus! North Greenville University is also mission-oriented and sends out about 400 students per break on mission trips.

    What to do for fun

There are plenty of things to do for fun around. Here on campus, we have a game room in the student life center. There are a variety of events that the school provides such as outdoor movies and cultural events, like plays and art shows. Campus is located at the foot of the mountains so there are plenty of outdoor things to do, like biking, rafting, hiking, etc.

    Food and Dining

On campus, there are three locations to eat. The main one is the cafeteria. In the cafeteria, there are several options. There is always a homestyle option, the entree varies from day to day. Also, there is a pizza and pasta station, a sandwich station, a grill, a salad station, cereal station and of course, the dessert bar. Downstairs from the cafeteria, is the '63/'64 grill (otherwise known as the 'stud'). They offer a variety of options, much like a fast food restaurant. The third option is Einstein's. Einstein's is a small coffee shop which offers breakfast and lunch items like bagels and sandwiches.

    Dorm Life

Campus is pretty small so most of the dorm buildings are located near all the academic buildings. The dorm building i live in is beautiful. All the rooms come with a microfridge, so that's a plus. On our hall, is a laundry room. All the girls on my hall are super nice, as are most people on campus.

    Academic Rigor

The class sizes here are small. In most of my classes, there have been about 15-25 students with a professor. The Professors are always willing to help because their goal is to make sure we actually learn something from their class. On campus, there are different labs that you can attend to get extra help in classes you may be struggling in. There are also free tutors for those who need them.

    In three sentences

Coming to North Greenville University was one of the best decisions i have ever made. I truly feel at home here.

An unusual tradition is that our president makes it a point of his to make you feel welcome to our school.

    What to do for fun

North Greenville is located near many hiking trails as well as two downtowns. The most well know of the two downtowns is downtown Greenville. There are tons of things to do in downtown Greenville. Also there are many people that play leisure and competitive sports on campus. The sports include basketball, sand volleyball, and Ultimate Frisbee.

And if you are still not convinced, there is a bagel and coffee shop on campus. North Greenville is also adding a Papa Johns on campus.

    Dorm Life

Just like any other college campus, different dorms have pros and cons to them. The dorm that I stay in is one of the farthest from main campus, about a ten minute leisure walk, but it is one of the nicest. I have a walk in closet, a living-room, and a nice bathroom.

    Academic Rigor

The absolute majority of the professors push for your absolute best. North Greenville professors were recently voted in the top professors in America.

    Tips for prospective students

Take advice from students who have been at the school for a few years. They will be able to let you know some inside information on different classes, professors, and campus life.

    Campus Safety

Campus security takes forever. Make sure you call them for something an hour before you know you need them. It takes forever.

    Greek Life

    non-existent.

    Clubs and Activities

Campus ministries and major related activities are all that are advertised.

Great for these types of students

Homeschooled students fit in great here. Rebellious students, and envelope pushers donâ??t always work out. Your best bet is if you go with the flow, not change it.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Cheese grits are always offered during exam week. And they are always served by the president.

    Bang for the buck

School is extremely expensive. Find scholarships NOW.

    What to do for fun

There isnâ??t a lot to do around here for fun. If you are athletic, its great because there is lots of space to play. Otherwise, you better have netflix.

    Food and Dining

Do not come to NGU if you want quality food. The food here will literally make you sick when you eat it.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is great if you have a great roommate. Changing rooms is easier than they say it is, but a hassle.

    Academic Rigor

Academics are not number one here. Christ is number one, which is great, but academics need to be a close second.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you are comfortable will all of the rules. If you come in not knowing the rules, you will hate the school and be stuck here.

    In three sentences

Great place to be. Friendly people and great environment. Professors care about you, but not always a quality education.

    Campus Safety

The campus security make you feel extremely safe, so you do not have to be afraid.

    Greek Life

    There is none.

    Clubs and Activities

You can join intramural teams, which are great if you like sports but don't have a lot of time to commit to them. In addition, you can join clubs for you major, a club that fights human sex trafficking, or quiz teams.

Great for these types of students

Great for students going into the ministry or missions--or if you simply want a biblical and honest approach to academics.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Before finals, we have a Cheese Grits night in the Cafeteria, which is great.

    Bang for the buck

It is definitely worth coming if you want a degree with an amazing biblical approach to everything.

    What to do for fun

They often have events going, so there is usually always something you can do. I like spending time with friends, playing a piano in one of the music rooms, or going off campus to Waffle House or Cookout for late night hang outs. Furthermore, there are Improv Team shows every once in a while, which are absolutely hilarious.

    Food and Dining

The food is pretty bad, and there are not a lot of options, but next semester it is supposedly going to get a lot better, so I am looking forward to that day!

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is alright. It would be much better if guys and girls could go into each others' dorms at even just certain parts of the day, and room checks seem extremely excessive, but other than that, your dorm is simply your dorm. I usually spend my time outside of my dorm socializing.

    Academic Rigor

The biblical approach in almost every class is astounding at NGU. You will find professors who truly follow Jesus based on facts and faith, and they implement that into their classrooms each in their own way. The homework and papers are intense, but they want you to be the best you can be.

    Tips for prospective students

Talk to your professors, spend time in the prayer chapel, and make lasting friendships. However, most of all, keep Christ first, and He will fill in all the details. If He has called you there, don't miss out on the opportunities He gives you while there.

    In three sentences

North Greenville University is a fantastic university where Christ is the focus. While some of the rules are a bit obsessive and they do not always treat you like adults, the professors truly care about each of their students. I would definitely recommend coming to NGU.
