Categories Comments Great for these types of students Just like anywhere, there is a ride range of students. However, more and more kids are coming out of their shells when they start at a small college like this one.
Tips for prospective students The only tip I want to give at this moment is to follow your heart.
Bang for the buck I believe that this college is a starter. I would rather have my general education classes finished so I don't have to take them again. All that I have to do is transfer the credits.
Am enjoying being here I always have fun in the testing center. The testing center is located in the Student Center.
Am learning a lot I have a disease, epilepsy, and I feel better since the teachers work around my disability.

Categories Comments Campus Safety campus is very safe...seriously i don't know how many emails i've recieved about well the weather is bad so make sure you drive carefully and hold onto the railings when going up and down the stairs because they may be slippery. i do appreciate that my college cares about my safety but the emails can get a little rediculous at times..in a good way though. :)
Clubs and Activities surprisingly there is a good number of clubs and activities around campus. there's impact, they're a group of students who set up activities for all of the other students and they do a lot of leadership activities. there is also trio, which is a program that offers tutoring and the opportunity to meet other students. there's an academic sorority called phi theta kappa, which looks really good on your resume if you're accepted. it's shocking the number of activities nicc actually offers for it's students.
Great for these types of students it's great for students who like small classes and towns.
Bang for the buck i think nicc is a great choice when it comes to money matters. its relatively cheap, but i'm still getting a great education!
What to do for fun at nicc you almost have to create your own fun. i like to sit in the cafe and talk to my friends. as a student i get into the peosta community center for free, which is awesome because i get to use the various workout equipment and the courts for basketball, tennis and racquetball. there is also an indoor track which is awesome! another fun activity is to go to dubuque to do some shopping or see a movie. nicc will also hold some special events that free for students to participate in.
Food and Dining nicc has the cougar cafe along with a new coffee shop. the food tends to be pretty tasty and it the prices are typically low. my campus offers two hot meals along with other various warm sandwiches, lunch meat and they have a salad bar. there is also a variety of packaged goods like cookies and chips, homemade desserts, and fruit. in the morning you can get breakfast food. there is also a variety of fountain drinks along with bottled beverages. if this doesn't sound satisfying there is always subway and a gas station across the street.
Dorm Life unfortunately my nicc campus doesn't have dorms, but i'm hoping that they eventually will.
Academic Rigor the academic rigor isn't too bad. some teachers are more laid back than others, but i haven't had a teacher yet who is down right unbearable. like at any institution, different classes are going to be more difficult than others and have more work than others but it truly isn't that bad.
Tips for prospective students on the first day of class, check your express to make sure your class hasn't been moved to a different room. it's also helpful if you have your text books and all of the other supplies you need on the first day of class.
In three sentences i love nicc(i go to the one in peosta), it's a great community college for students like me who enjoy small campuses and classes. nicc also offers a variety of different programs that can suit just about anyone. lastly, the faculty and staff tend to be laid back and super friendly.

Categories Comments Food and Dining Campus just got a new caterer to make the lunches. I have only eaten there about 3 times.
Tips for prospective students If you are an online student, make sure that you use the tools provided to talk with your classmates. Many times they can help with a question or project and you don't have to leave a question unanswered or wait for the instructor to respond.
In three sentences This school is geared towards the success of it's students. The instructors get to know you well, and want to help you succeed. Many opportunities on campus to get involved in with the school community.

Tips for prospective students Do your best, choose a program you like, and don't procrastinate.
In three sentences Good student to teacher ratio. I am referring to the Peosta campus by the way. It appears to not be an option here. Also friendly staff and nice facilities.
