There is all kinds of outdoor things for those adventurous types, hiking and biking trails crisscross Flagstaff, the NAU Campus, and the surrounding forest. There's an on campus pool that students may use free, as well as a modern gym with a running track, exercise equipment, and large rock climbing wall. Of course there's Snowbowl for winter sports and Lake Mary for weekend fun. If outdoors isn't you're thing, don't worry. There is a large online population at NAU, and any game you want to play is on their list.

Snow bowl is a short drive from campus, a renowned skiing and snowboarding area. Downtown Flagstaff is a lively city with many great restaurants and bars and unique stores and other small businesses. The abundance of forest around Flagstaff has tons of places that are great for hiking or camping. Also, Sedona and the Grand Canyon are relatively close to Flagstaff.
