I am a journalism major and have already learned a lot in my freshman year. The journalism department, along with the other departments at NSU, believes the best way to teach is through the classroom AND practice. My department has four or five different ways for the students to practice what they are being taught in the classroom. It has really helped me to understand my studies and get to know the other students in the department.

    Northwestern has a BEAUTIFUL campus! I recently toured and found the student community to be close-knit and positive. It seems to be a great school for anyone interested in a smaller university with a community feel.

    The atmosphere is very welcoming, as well as the people. The staff is so inviting and helpful with anything that you may need or want to know. This campus makes you feel like you are at home and everyone is family.

    I am currently attending the NSU Shreveport Campus. This campus has great Professors and an excellant Education/Tutoring Program. It also is a smaller campus which allows the teacher/student relationship to be more personable.

    Northwestern has an amazing online program that is super flexible for any time of student. The online program allows for students in other states to complete the degree programs without setting an out of state tuition. The student messenger helps keep everyone super informed on what's going on on campus.
