    The school is a Seventh Day Adventist private school. Is one of the on;y HBCU that provides a vegetarian diet. Oakwood is a school that ministers to students with the anticipation that their lives turn to Jesus Christ.

    Oakwood used to have a spectacular group called the National Association for the Prevention of Starvation (NAPS) on campus, but it has been recently moved elsewhere. This group has helped me become the man I am today. I have grown so much as a person, and have had the privilege of traveling with them to over 13 different states and overseas. They help you live a life with purpose, and help you grow closer to the most important thing in this life- our relationship with God.

    Oakwood University known for a lot of things. Some of it is true, some of it was true but isn't anymore, and some of it never was true. However, as a current student, Oakwood's reputation for music still stands. The talent that comes in and out of the school is phenomenal.
