The professors here really care about their students and offer as much help as they can. Doors are almost always open, and since each student receives an advisor, the relationship between professor and student is on a more equal level than most schools.

Great environment and students are all nice. Study environment is balanced and there aren't as many distractions. School doesn't get enough credit for how hard it is.

» Read MoreThe campus seemed really nice and cozy. I've heard that having a car is sort of a necessity if you want to get places easily, since it is in downtown LA. Its Urban and Environmental Policy major is pretty interdisciplinary and unique.

While the classroom I viewed seemed old-fashioned, they are currently undergoing construction to create new buildings,etc. I am excited to attend Occidental due to its urban location, the attention they have given me so far, its potential future opportunities, and Oxy's involvement with the surrounding metropolitan area.
