    Campus Safety

There is always a Lancaster Police officer on duty during class hours and there is still an on duty police officer after hours when the athletic teams are practicing.

    Clubs and Activities

Baseball, softball, basketball, golf, volleyball, and other intramural clubs.

Great for these types of students

All types of students would enjoy OUL because of how great the staff works to improve their campus in and out of the classroom.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

We also offer a few honor societies. I am apart of Phi Theta Kappa which recognizes students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

    Bang for the buck

The tuition is definitely worth it. It is half the amount as a main campus's tuition.

    What to do for fun

There are many athletic clubs to be apart of. I myself am captain of the OUL Baseball team. We also offer Men's, and Women's Basketball, Tennis, Golf, and Volleyball.

    Food and Dining

There is a small mess hall, The Zone, and offers great food as well as on-the-go snacks.

    Dorm Life

OUL is a community college so there are no dorms on campus.

    Academic Rigor

Ohio University - Lancaster (OUL) offers many different timed classes to fit your work schedule. The classes are very challenging and really test your academic competence.

    Tips for prospective students

Stay on task. Just because it is a community college does not mean the academic part is watered down. My mother attended both Ohio University- Athens, and Ohio University- Lancaster and she believed the academic work were very similar.

    In three sentences

I think the small class size is a great learning environment. I believe student will succeed in a room where they can speak one on one with their professor. The academic, as well as, athletic programs are very strong and are a great place for students to learn in and out of the classroom.

    Campus Safety

This campus has security around the clock. They will even walk you out to your car if you ask them.

    Greek Life

There is the honor society and another Greek society on campus. They mainly do charity work for the town of Lancaster.

    Clubs and Activities

There are all sorts of sports and clubs. If there isn't a club then you can make one.

Great for these types of students

If you are not ready for the big city then this small town school is for you.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

I do not know of any unusual traditions on campus.

    Bang for the buck

The tuition is half of what it costs at the main campus, so if you can then go to the branch campus to at least finish the electives and your first year classes.

    What to do for fun

This is a commuter campus, so you can go hit the town after class or you can relax on campus. There are plenty of shows that run through town and there is always art on display to look at on break.

    Food and Dining

This school does have a dinning area, but everything is within driving distance, so you can eat anywhere in town.

    Dorm Life

This campus does not have dorms on campus. It is strictly a commuter school.

    Academic Rigor

I am a pre-medicine major, so of course I am going to say that my courses are difficult, but with the online tutoring and office hours it is easy to excel.

    Tips for prospective students

Always ask for help. The professors have very flexible schedules and if you are struggling they will help you. Also, try to join clubs or try out for a musical, because you never know what you will find that will interest you until you try.

    In three sentences

It is a small school. The class size gives each student one on one time with the professor, if a topic is not understood. The small atmosphere of the school is a nice transition if you have to move to a large campus after your first or second year.

    Campus Safety

We have a police man on duty every night on campus to ensure students make it to their cars in the parking lot safely. Because we are such a small campus, safety is not an issue here.

    Greek Life

We offer many classes on Greek life, literature and Mythology, and will hold get togethers for students enrolled in those classes to widen the understanding of Greek society.

    Clubs and Activities

As mentioned before, we have tennis and basketball teams as well as academic honor and community service clubs.

Great for these types of students

Down to earth students who work hard to keep themselves financially independent.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

We do not have any unusual traditions.

    Bang for the buck

I really feel Ohio University Lancaster is the best academic option for students whose parents cannot put them through college. For students who have to work through college, O.U.L is a cheap but quality school were the professors are understanding of student life and the people are friendly and down to earth. we also have a day care center, were students can bring their children while in class. As we are a cheap alternative to Athens, we have a diverse student body, including young parents, middle aged students with families, kids fresh out of high school, and people who are going back to school to sharpen skills in a career they have already obtained.

    What to do for fun

We have a very impressive theater group at O.U.L, and we put on fun productions such as Chicago and It's a Wonderful Life during the holidays. We also have several student organizations, including Phi Theta Kappa, which is equivalent to an academic honor and leadership society in high school, as well as a community service group called Phi Alpha Omega. we also have tennis teams as well as basketball teams.

    Food and Dining

We have a small cafeteria called The Zone were lunch is offered during the day at fair prices. They food is well prepared, and there is an abundance of it, so we never run out of options. We have vending machines in that room for things like candy, energy drinks, and a really neat coffee and cocoa machine. just one dollar for a twelve ounce cup of coffee!

    Dorm Life

we have no dorms at O.U.L, as we do not have a large campus. Again, we do not have the classic college experience that Athens does, but going here saves students at least ten grand a year on the same type of education.

    Academic Rigor

The classes taught at O.U.L are the same courses taught at Ohio University's main campus in Athens. They are at the same difficulty level, and professors expect just as much from us as with a student in Athens. The only difference is that Athens offers more courses, because they are a bigger college. We are a much cheaper alternative, and it really is a great idea to get basic classes and degrees from O.U.L first, if you need to transfer to Athens later. In Athens, you pay more for the college experience. tuition differences has nothing to do with the quality of education.

    Tips for prospective students

Students do not have to go into O.U.L with a decided major, as our credits are transferable and we are not an overly expensive school. this takes some of the stress off of freshmen of college. students should keep in touch with their advisers regularly in order to obtain credits needed for their degree as easily as possible. also, the My Ohio Student Center will be your best friend, as you can keep up on your grades, as well as financial aid and money students owe for their classes, if they owe any money at all. O.U.L is very generous with financial aid for good students who have little financial stability.

    In three sentences

Ohio University Lancaster Branch is a great school for students with little financial opportunities. The credits are transferable, and tuition is only about 5 grand a year. These two points along with the fact that advisers meet with you every time you enroll for classes, O.U.L is an easy way to obtain a degree easily and without owing your very soul to student loans.

    Campus Safety

Security cameras keep criminals from breaking into vehicles and there is a camera at every enterance to the school. Also at night there is a police officer at the welcome center to watch for anything out of the ordinary.

    Clubs and Activities

The theatre program at OUL is the best I have seen from any college I have seen or been to. It is never boring being in a show.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for any type of student.

    Bang for the buck

Thanks to all of the scholarships given at OUL, I am able to afford my education very easily this year.

    What to do for fun

For fun, I hang out with my friends in the student center and we do anything from sit and talk to running around like a zombie apocolyps has occured. There is never a boring day at OUL.

    Food and Dining

The food they sell at OUL is very good and is not over priced.

    Dorm Life

This is not a full campus and there is no dorms. You would have to commute to attend OUL but it has been worth it for me. I have made so many friends in my time there and there is plenty of time and space to hang out and have fun.

    Academic Rigor

The teachers have a way of teaching that really sinks in. They teach in a way that is easy to understand but yet still gets through the subject thoroughly.

    Tips for prospective students

I would suggest attending even if you are unsure of your major. OUL has all of the necessary prerequisites needed for your first year of college so you can take that year to find your knack in life.

    In three sentences

Ohio University-Lacaster Campus is a fantastic place to learn. Within the one semester I have been there, I already feel like I fit in more than I had in High School. The education opportunities are endless, the faculty is extremely helpful. , and the class sizes are small enough to have one on one conversations with your teachers.

    Campus Safety

I feel like the campus is very safe. They always have a police man on campus to help patrol the campus. Although, I don't think they have ever had any trouble with anyone getting hurt or attacked. When ever I walk outside I'm never scared of anything happening to me

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The campus is located on the outskirts of town, but is beside two high schools. So there are a lot of post-secondary students that go there. Although the campus is welcoming to everyone and anyone.

    What to do for fun

There is a gym anyone is welcome to go and play in at all time unless there is practice. They have a workout room with ping pong tables. They have trails behind the school for running. They have hang out places all over to just hang out and in some places watch TV with your friends. They have a library with computer you can log onto and play games or do school work.

    Food and Dining

They have a great hang out/ cafeteria area with great food.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms. It is just a commuter college.

    Academic Rigor

They are pretty strict on getting the required classes finished before graduation. For transfer students, they try everything to get as many things to transfer a possible.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are wanting to go to Ohio University Lancaster, I would suggest you start early with all the admission information. The sooner you get that done the quicker to getting accepted, and then be on your way to becoming a bobcat. Also make sure you communicate with you academic advisor if you ever have any questions, don't try to do it on your own if you don't understand. They are willing to help in anyway even if they aren't in that major. Then get your classes scheduled as soon as you can because the classes fill up fast! Good luck at becoming a bobcat!

    In three sentences

Ohio University is a great beginner college if your trying to still decide what you want to be when you grow up. The administration is very helpful and encouraging on helping you figure out what you want to do. I loved the environment and small class sizes.
