Around Town

Athens offers many options for people to do for fun from bands to art exhibits. Of course there are lots of bars for the weekend party crowd.

There are a lot of things on and off campus to do for fun. The Ping Center is great to work out in, and blow off steam with some friends.

There is bowling, dancing, numerous school sponsored events. However my favorite things to do include hiking, biking, and playing beach volleyball.

Everything. There's tons to do around campus, plenty of beautiful areas to sit, and great stores. If you're hungry, there's great places to eat. Want to grab a beer? No problem. There are bars everywhere.

Make friends with the people in your dorm and go out with them!

There are many things to do in Athens for fun. Most people associate it with partying, but if that's not your thing there are others things you can do as well. If that is your thing and your 21 you will really enjoy the bar scene. If you are not 21 there are always parties going on, on campus. Fests are really huge at OU. I highly recommend attending as many your schedule will allow. I promise you will not be disappointed.

You can go exercise or just relax and take in the view. There are several intramural sports and clubs that you can sign up for in your spare time. Really, there is always something to do, you just have to go find it.

If you're into the Greek life, join that. If not, join anything else you can. There are tons of organizations for every sport and hobby, just get out there. Also, there's a great bike path for when its warm, there are plays and concerts in the auditorium which are often free for students, there are cafes and restaurants up town.. there's a decent amount of stuff to do here for Athens being the size it is.

Being Athens if you're 21 or over it's fun to go to the bar (on the weekends) and dance/hang with friends. There is also the Ping Center where you can get a workout in, a golf course, tennis courts, you also have several clubs to chose from. Plenty to do if you have the time.

Sit on the green, watch the symphony perform, play ultimate Frisbee or Frisbee golf, go swimming, go to a party, or even go stargazing. The campus is hopping with activities.
