You can go into Westerville and explore the shops or you can go into Polaris where you can visit the mall, the movie theater, or into other shops. Otterbein puts on plays that are pretty amazing (and you can get in for free). You can also attend sporting events (basketball, football, lacrosse, baseball and more).

Westerville is a small community and there are nice shops uptown. Columbus is really close so I enjoy shopping and exploring the parks and surrounding areas because I am not from around here. There is a lot to explore alone or with friends. There are so many you meet in college so one day you could be getting manicures with one and going to a rock concert that night with another friend. Variety, variety, variety. And trying new things! That's what college is all about.

Uptown Westerville is a college town. Right off campus is Uptown Westerville with various shops, restaurants, etc. It is a great area to explore on foot. During warmer months, there are festivals on Friday's where multiple vendors come out and students can walk around and shop. Polaris shopping center is very close by; this mall is large and offers many fun things for students, such as a movie theater, stores, bowling alley, restaurants, etc. It is easier to get here with a car though. Downtown Columbus is only about 20 minutes away by car and there are many things for students to do there, such as night clubs and stores. There are many on campus activities that the Campus Activities Board plans/sets up too, including magicians, comedians, singing groups. Otterbein also has a big theater program and the plays and musicals students put on are always fantastic and free for other students!

There is not a lot of stuff to do on weekends, however there is a good selection of clubs that are active on the campus. There is Greek Life, which a good number of students are involved with. Surrounding Westerville is a nice safe area that provides good food and entertainment opportunities.

I joined a sorority this past year and love every minute of it. We are very inspired to help the community around us. I love to volunteer with my sisters and help out around Otterbein or the Westerville area.

There are a TON of clubs to get involved in, not matter what your interests are; and if there isn't a club that you want, you can make your own club. There are plenty of sports and inter-murals, including the Equestrian Team (guess what I do? haha)

If you have a car, you're basically set. There's lots to do off of campus, just because Polaris, Easton, and downtown Columbus are all within a close distance. If you don't have a car, someone you know is bound to!

I am a commuter so I stay to myself at homes (music, video games, etc). But on campus, to be honest, there isn't much to do in Westerville. If you want to have a good time, own a car (or get a friend who does) and drive to Columbus (basically OSU area). I feel weird throwing OSU into the mix in an Otterbein review, but seriously, that's where all the fun happens. Concerts, clubs, festivals, shops, Gallery Hop, Zombie Walk, Comfest, Columbus Arts Festival, Rock on the Range, bars, ice skating, fine dining, everything.
