Around Town

On campus activities, for sure. Parkland isn't that exciting otherwise. There is also Seattle, a little ways away, and Tacoma.

Most students stay on campus. The surrounding neighborhood doesn't have a lot of options for a Friday or Saturday night, but the university often has a concert, play, or other event going on, or it's offering late-night programming like giant Jenga, tie-dying, or a scavenger hunt. It's also fun to go on weekend trips with Outdoor Recreation, which are affordable and fun. On your own, if you have a friend with a car or are willing to take the bus, it's fun to head over to the Tacoma Museum of Glass, road trip up to Seattle for the day, or hike on Mt. Rainier.

Pacific Lutheran University is located near both Tacoma, WA and Mt. Rainer. Students can participate in a wide range of activities from hikes to shopping excursions.

There are many clubs and teams that you can join that are really fun. There are also lots of people who are really fun to hang around.

At Pacific Lutheran University, we have fun by hanging out with friends, going to the local coffee shop down the road, or driving into Seattle. All of these opportunities and more help us relax from studying for a while, and focus on the social aspect of college.

There is always a fun event going on around campus which include bonfires, concerts, bingo, and many other activities. RHA, PLU's Residence Hall Association, is constantly hosting fun events with games and music. You will never leave a PLU event without talking to someone new!

There are many events on campus that provide free fun for all different types of personalities and peoples.
