“outside of the classrooms penn state altoona makes sure that we as students are still learning. we do not like to call the buildings dorms, but instead we call them…”
“living in the dorm has some perks, such as meeting new people, but it lacks anywhere to cook, so you have to get a meal plan which you probably won't…”
“I lived in a apartment my first year because PSU has limited dorms.…”
“dorm life is very nice and furnished. another nice thing about altoona is as a freshman you have the option of getting an apartment right away, rather than waiting until…”
“due to the large number of students that are housed off campus, our dorm life programs are not top notch like other colleges. the dorms are in pretty nice condition…”
I've eaten several times at the local cafeteria, and I just wasn't too impressed.
» Read MoreThe dining hall has just been renivated. It is a beauitful complex and has alot of meal options. The only problem I have with the dining hall is that they do not change there menu very often but the food itself it very good.
» Read MorePort Sky has recently been renovated so the food options are excellent.
» Read MoreI have no real experience on the food and dining on campus. The cafeteria seems to offer a lot of options, but there are other restaurants in Altoona right outside campus if the school doesn't have what you want.
» Read MoreI will eat at the University Park College when I pick up my son from time to time. The students that work there are very friendly. The food has always been very good.
» Read MorePort Sky (main on campus cafe) has breakfast until 4pm! Also many different options.
» Read MoreThe food on campus is delicious. During this past summer of 2012 the cafeteria on campus was completely remodeled. It looks very modern, but most importantly the food is really good. There is a salad station, a pasta station, an all day breakfast food station, a sandwhich station, a grill station, a coffee/tea/milkshake station, a pizza station, and a chef's choice table.
» Read MoreThe main dining area on campus is student staffed and friendly. The food is what one could expect from a college campus, above cafeteria grade but not much better. The dining hall, Sky Port, is a nice place to meet friends and hang out.
» Read MoreWhat bothers me is the food in the cafeteria. There is little variety and it's not very good quality.
» Read MoreI have only been to the dining hall once, and it was kind of expensive. You can put cash on a meal plan though, so it's not too bad. Also, they offer a decent variety of food and beverages.
» Read MoreThere are a few sororities and fraternities at Penn State Altoona, but a numerous amount are located at University Park.
» Read MoreI have no knowledge of the Greek life here and I'm not really interested in it. That's for all schools, not just PSUA.
» Read MoreThere is some Greek life, but it is very time consuming and recommended that Freshman do not participate.
» Read Moreumm there is descent greek life
» Read Moretwo sororities and four fraternities
» Read MoreThere are 4 different fraternities and sororities. I'm in neither so I can't say to much about this beside the members are very proud of where they come from. They do not discriminate, and they seem to be just like family.
» Read MoreI am not involved in greek life
» Read Moremain campus is where its at. altoona's greek life isn't that popular.
» Read Morei personally am not a 'greek life' sort of person, but there are a ton of sororities and fraternities to pledge to at psua. i think the also connect to houses up at university park as well.
» Read Morewe have 2 sororities and 3 fraternities. the sororities are alpha sigma tau and gamma phi beta. the fraternities are acacia, phi sigma kappa, pi kappa alpha, and soon to be another.
