Being here is comforting. I say this because I surround myself with positive influences on my life which makes the journey here easy, especially during freshman year. I enjoy the fact that our school is always involved in some kind of fun activity or even a lecture. Everyone knows each other, maybe not personally but at least by name. I like the fact that we are open to opportunities and attractions as well.

Even though I am away from home Philander has become my second home. The staff are family and so are the many friends. Philander has a welcoming atmosphere that draws people in and makes them feel good about being there. It also helps that it is a small school that makes big things happen like the Bless the Mic.
