Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is great for kids who prefer smaller group settings. Students who tend to ask a lot of questions will be very happy because here you are able to get the answers you need.
Tips for prospective students It all starts with an application, which is free online.
Bang for the buck It doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. The financial department works with you to get everything you need to succeed.
Will enjoy being here The campus has a beautiful rural setting. There are plenty of student activities. The people are extremely friendly, you'll feel right at home.
Will learn a lot You will definitely learn a lot, because of the small class sizes. There is a very personalized feel to the academic structure. You will know your professors well and understand your workload better.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck For a private school, the admission is not as bad as I thought it would be at first. Also, Piedmont will work well with you to get scholarships and other financial aid to help pay the cost of tuition.
Will enjoy being here If you enjoy a small town like I do where everyone knows everybody then you will love Piedmont.
Will learn a lot The classes have very few people which makes it easier to have a more personal connection to the professors.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the campus police is always there no matter what you need. i can't tell you how many times they have let me in my room and even helped me get into my car when i have left my keys inside. they are great!
What to do for fun piedmont college is constantly giving students the opportunity to go on free activities like going to the movies or on a ski trip. they usually have free bowling nights on tuesdays as well as trips to the museum, the aquarium, the world of coke, six flags and many more. they try to make it fun for the student to go out to places and best of all it's free!
Food and Dining they try hard to make food that fits everyone's needs, it is hard to do that with everyone though. i think overall they have good food and great servers with positive and cheerful attitudes.
Dorm Life they are constantly making new dorms and renovating old ones in order to accommodate the students and their needs.
Academic Rigor piedmont has some of the best teachers. if at any time i have ever needed help i have always found my teacher to make time to meet with me and discuss my problem. i have built strong relationships with some of my teachers which i am sure will last for life.
Tips for prospective students if you are looking for a college where you can become a part of a bigger family and make long lasting relationships with both the students and the professors.
In three sentences piedmont college is a family-oriented college. their main goal is to provide a peaceful and interactive atmosphere where the student can feel like more than just a number. piedmont also has some of the best teachers who are always willing to help you with anything.

Bang for the buck With scholarships and grants, this is an affordable education.
Academic Rigor Challenging, yet attainable if you apply yourself.
Tips for prospective students Meet with the head of the Department for the major you are considering. You will be with these people for a long time. Make sure it is a good fit for you.

Categories Comments What to do for fun i acutally play for the softball team at Piedmont. besides that however a group of us play ultimate frisbee and i also play intramural sports. we all just play for fun and have a great time!
Food and Dining the cafe has a wide variety of food choices and they continue to grasp different types. from the two years i have been there, the food and the service keeps getting better.
Dorm Life i have lived in the dorm since i have attended there and it is awesome! the rooms are nice and roomy for your place. the dorms have great security so you feel safe.
Academic Rigor with Piedmont being a private school, some say that the classes would be a lot harder. however, that is wrong at this school. they may be complicating but the professors are willing to help you when ever you can and there are also students who are tutors that are willing to help
Tips for prospective students if you want to meet new people and make new friends this is the place to go! everyone is so friendly and everyone knows everyone, even the professors.
In three sentences Piedmont College is a small but well rounded school. the atmosphere in the classrooms helps me to better understand the subject and the professors are very friendly. there is so much to do on a small campus!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is one of the faculty's main concerns. The number for Campus Police is posted everywhere and students are encouraged to save it and call anytime. They answered every time I called, and were very prompt.
Greek Life There is no Greek life at Piedmont.
Clubs and Activities There are a lot of clubs active on campus, as well as a few different campus ministries.
Great for these types of students Piedmont is a great place for someone who will work hard and make the most of their time. It's good for people who might need a little extra help, because professors are always willing and usually able to help outside of class.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The wetlands-where there used to be a lake-are really neat. You can see fish, ducks, geese, and other wildlife walking across the bridge. It's really cool when it gets foggy, and it gets nice and green in the spring.
What to do for fun There's a movie theatre not too far away. The bowling alley in Clarkesville is a lot if fun too. On campus, students hang out in the student center a lot. There's a small gym where you cam shoot hoops, a game room with fooseball, air hockey, and pool tables, and a media room with a tv and large projector screen with a Blu-ray player, PS3 (I think), and Xbox Kinect. We also love going to Waffle House any time of day, though it's usually pretty late. It sure is a good thing we get a discount!
Food and Dining The caf is actually pretty good. Of course, it isn't hone, but the staff is friendly and helpful. The food is usually pretty good, and there are some things I really like. Sometimes it seems like there could be more variety, but that's usually the case when it comes to a cafeteria.
Dorm Life Most of the dorm buildings are old and have occassional issues, but the res life staff is helpful and maintenance usually fixes major problems in a day or two, and most others within a week.
Academic Rigor The professors want you to succeed, but you still have to work for it. Most classes will challenge you, and by embracing the challenge and working hard, you can learn a lot and sharpen your skills before you even realize it's happening.
Tips for prospective students Bring a broom or swiiffer. Don't put off cleaning in the dorm, because stuff can pile up and when it's time for finals AND checkout, you'll be very stressed. Get plenty of sleep. I know, you hear it all the time, but that's because it's important! Sleep well, eat right, and you'll feel great and ready for everything. It also helps to plan. You don't necessarily have to micromanage everything, but it helps to plan time for studying, maybe practicing, socializing, and every now and then a nice nap.
In three sentences Piedmont has a real family-like atmosphere. One of the highest priorities is making sure each student gets the education he or she needs for the career that he or she desires. The professors all want to help their students succeed.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Nothing ever happens here.
Great for these types of students The school is great for preforming arts majors because you wont have time to get bored.
What to do for fun There is nothing. Unless you don't have a ride, you have to go to gainesville to do anything. All the town has is walmart.
Food and Dining There isn't any variety and the food is not vegan/vegetarian friendly at all.
Dorm Life the dorms are very old and the walls are thin.
Academic Rigor Academic wise the school is excellent.
Tips for prospective students You have to make your own fun here. Within the art program, most professors are laid back. Outside of art it is best to stay on your toes.
In three sentences The school is great for nursing or performing arts majors, such as drama and music, however, the town is very boring. If you want a life outside of academics do not attend this school. It also is very tiny and not racially diverse at all.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus Po is everywhere and it is worth your time to get to know them! Bruce is everyone's favorite, he always has a corny joke for us!
Greek Life None!
Clubs and Activities Limitless! For a full list, refer to the college's website (piedmont.edu). If there isn't already something you are interested in, it is highly encouraged that you start up your own club or organization!
Great for these types of students If you like the outdoors, small classes, special attention, and opportunities to be involved and acquire leadership positions, then Piedmont is the place for you!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Piedmont has wetlands! This may be only really appealing to the science majors, but it's fun for anyone to stand on the bridge and see the beavers, foxes, bunnies, and fish scuttle by!
Bang for the buck The one-on-one attention from professors and education you receive are well worth the tuition. Almost every student has scholarships to help and there are numerous opportunities for student worker positions to earn a little extra cash!
What to do for fun Piedmont College is located in Demorest, GA in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. There are hiking trails everywhere and various opportunities for other outdoor activities such as kayaking, horseback riding, and camping. Dahlonega and Helen are just a short 30 minute drive up the road and are great to visit on a day you just need to get off campus for a while. Athens and Atalanta are relatively close, as well as the Mall of Georgia, only 45 minutes away. There is a movie theater and bowling alley within 10 minutes and many shops and restaurants to explore in Cornelia and Clarkesville!
Food and Dining Cafeteria food is cafeteria food, but compared to high school and to many other colleges, Piedmont's rates at the top! Chartwell's, the company that runs the dining area does a good job of making sure there are various choices for different lifestyles and will be expanding on this with addition of a new student center and cafeteria currently being built.
Dorm Life There are various styles of dorms on campus. All can be viewed from Piedmont's website (piedmont.edu). Each dorm has at least one Resident Assistant and one Resident Director to assist the students with any needs they may have. Currently the college has 9 dorms, 3 of which have been added within the past 4 years, and is in the process of planning at least 1 more in the near future.
Academic Rigor An education from Piedmont is invaluable! The one-on -one attention from professors will prove crucial when the time comes to graduate and apply for grad school or employment. Feedback from many schools, including med school, PT and PA school, and various other schools have said that many students are accepted for having a Piedmont education because they know the students have a fine educational background.
Tips for prospective students Apply early, but make sure you attend the various events the campus holds to really get to know the campus and it's students, professors, and faculty! Opportunities range from senior overnights where prospective students can stay overnight and attend classes to athletic visits to one day Preview Piedmont events.
In three sentences Piedmont College is a small school with a big family atmosphere! The one-on one attention you receive from professors is unique and beneficial to the student's overall experience!

Categories Comments Greek Life There are no fraternities or sororities on campus.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs to join.
What to do for fun For fun many of the students go to Athens or Commerce. Sometimes they go to Gainesville because there really isn't that much to do on campus.
Tips for prospective students Don't be looking at Piedmont if you are looking for a college where there are lots of things to do on campus. There are some college sponsored events but they are few and far between
In three sentences The size of the campus may be small but the professors are able to give more back to the students. Everyone is very kind and friendly to you. It feels like you are apart of one big happy family.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Most students leave their doors unlocked or leave their phones and wallets out in the dinning hall, and I have never heard of anyone having anything stolen.
Greek Life Piedmont does not have fraternities or sororities.
Clubs and Activities There is a club for anything you could be interested in, and if there is not, you can create one with no problem.
Great for these types of students If you like to know a lot of the people around you, come to Piedmont. Everyone on campus is your family!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The Grill is a great place to go on campus. You can find a good amount of students there most days.
Bang for the buck With the scholarships the school offers most students, the school is great. Students will get experience they would not get elsewhere.
What to do for fun There is not a lot to do in the town, but their is usually something happening on the campus. If you get really bored, Gainesville has a lot to do, and it is only thirty minutes away.
Food and Dining The food could be worse, but it is not that great. The food is not very healthy, the a good amount of the staff doesn't seem to know what they are doing.
Dorm Life The dorms are much larger than most colleges'. Maintenance can be a little slow and tend to ignore some problems, but it could be a lot worse. There is always something to do on campus.
Academic Rigor The classes are great! You learn so much from your professors as long as you pay attention. If you ever start to struggle, there are multiple ways the school will help you. Also, professors are always around to help.
Tips for prospective students If you come to Piedmont, make sure you know what professor you have before signing up for a class. All the professors are great, but each professor has a different teaching style that may not match up with your learning style. Also, bring rainboots and a raincoat. When it rains at Piedmont, the campus turns into a lake, and without a raincoat it may be difficult to get to classes.
In three sentences The experience and care a student receives at Piedmont is unlike any other. Students get opportunities that the would not get at any other college. Piedmont is like home.
