Great for these types of students

Pine Tech is great for students who want real life hands-on experience. For those of you who don't like to have your nose stuck in a book, Pine Tech is for you! Although there is traditional learning, Pine Tech goes far beyond in order to give their students an exciting experience by practicing what they are learning in their given field.

    Bang for the buck

Pine Technical College not only provides great education and college experience, but their prices can't be beat! The general tuition is lower than expected, and the financial department always seeks to provide ways to help students out financially.

    What to do for fun

PTC is located in Pine City, MN, which is in close proximity to the North Shore of Minnesota. It is also only an hour drive to the Twin Cities with large shopping areas and varied dining options. There are many towns near Pine City that offer theater entertainment, fine dining, and bowling with friends.

    Food and Dining

Since Pine Technical College is a vocational school without on-campus housing, there isn't much call for a large cafeteria. However, they have made sure to provide areas around campus to grab a quick bite to eat when needed.

    Dorm Life

Pine Technical College does not offer on-campus housing, but they do help students find affordable housing close to campus if needed.

    Academic Rigor

Not only do the instructors go through the written course material, but they also create hands-on scenarios to help teach the students how to handle situations in real life jobs. The classes are to the point but also incorporate breaks and fun projects in order to make learning more enjoyable.

    Tips for prospective students

Be sure to register early as the classes fill up quickly. Also, be sure sure to talk with someone at the financial aid office as the school offers a variety of payment options, scholarships, and loans. Most of all, enjoy college life!

    In three sentences

Pine Technical College has great instructors and in-depth course material. They offer comprehensive material and create on-the-job scenarios in order to prepare you for working in your intended field. Definitely a college worth looking into as the education is widely recognized.

Small campus. Local police are great!

    Clubs and Activities

Many to choose from. From national Phi Theta Kappa to local Evergreen Club.

Great for these types of students

All students of all types! Great beginning to your college education.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Small campus helps to find classes easily.

    Bang for the buck

Some classes are over the web, both online and through the tech center besides face-to-face. This increases the variety of occupations offered. Also, classes are transferable to a four-year college. Every semester now has a Family Fun Night for the whole family as well as frequent bar-b-ques for all students.

    What to do for fun

The lake is a few blocks away and have summer swimming and winter fishing. Minnesota is very weather dependent on outdoor activities. All the popular activities are available...skating, bike riding, camping, hiking, etc. Neighboring towns have things to do as well.

    Food and Dining

Cafeteria food is very good. One of the last A&W Drive In Restaurants is a block away. Many other eateries in the area.

    Dorm Life

Does not apply...there aren't any. There are many apartments near-by at reasonable rates.

    Academic Rigor

Every aspect of a class is explored. This will give you the knowledge you need to get the top-rated jobs you desire. Instructors are also available if questions arise after graduation.

    Tips for prospective students

Sign up early...classes fill fast. On-site daycare center. Cafeteria food really is good. Used books are available in the bookstore.

Students that are parents or working and in combination of that sort.

    Bang for the buck

The smaller campus is like a community of itself.

Pine Tech has many student clubs and activities sponsored by the Student Senate. Often the activities are family friendly like Movie Night about once a month in the auditorium

Pam's Kitchen in campus is awesome and fair priced. Vending is available and near by food venues such as Pizza Hut, Subway and McDonald's are easy to get to also.

    Dorm Life

There are not dorms but there are a few local dwellings in the college town Pine City and nearby for rent.

    Academic Rigor

There's a lot of time involved, it's recommended in many courses that 3 hours of study to each credit be done outside of class. The teachers all want you to succeed and there are many resources available to students to help you attain your goals.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are a returning student and don't know what you want to study start easy with general studies at part time. Gradually build up to a full load of credits as you get used to the atmosphere of college education.

    In three sentences

Pine Tech is personalized learning experience where I feel like a member rather than a student number. It's a safe place that feel good to walk into and hang out at. Very family friendly and supportive of Parent/Students.
