Pittsburg State University offers many different opportunities that make college a little bit more affordable. If you live in Kansas, you already get in-state tuition, but if you live in certain counties in Missouri, Arkansas, or Oklahoma, you qualify for a tuition program called Gorilla advantage. The gorilla advantage gives certain counties in the tri-state area the ability to pay in-state tuition instead of paying out of state tuition. Another thing that PSU does to help is they have a semester program where if you go different event you sign in and you get point; the person with the highest amount of points gets a scholarship. They give 4 scholarships per year. Of course there is also department scholarship, each department has different scholarship they give, so if you're in a certain department you qualify for their scholarships. Another thing that the university has is the pay plan. If you can't pay tuition or housing all at once you can pay it in four different plans. The plan allows you to break down the payment into four different payments that make is easier to deal with. A different aspect that makes paying for school more affordable is the flat rate the university offers for class. If you take at least 12 (full-time student) you get a flat rate instead of paying per credit hour. This makes tuition cheaper and it makes it easier to take more class for a smaller amount of money. Overall PSU makes college more affordable and easier to pay, and it's worth it. The professors are very knowledgeable about their areas of expertise and if the student has questions they are always willing to help in whichever way they can. The university has many different events so there's always something going on. The university offers many different service such as library, health center, recreation center, pool, track etc. free to all students .

Excellent class sizes, and extremely good quality education, even if you don't factor in the cost. Part of your student fees cover athletic event tickets that are free to you, virtually zero-cost healthcare, funds to put on events for the students, and the upkeep of the campus.
