If you have any questions about ANYTHING, find someone to get directly in touch with to get answers. You will almost NEVER get what you need by searching their website or asking other students. Seriously, just send emails to department heads or administrators whenever you have questions. Don't skip the advising meetings! The only way to really understand what you need to register for, especially if you're a transfer student, is to meet one-on-one with an adviser. Don't leave the meeting until you feel crystal clear about your plan of action. Because it's right in the center of downtown Portland, you should avoid having a car if you possibly can. Parking is a total nightmare, as is navigating the city until you get used to it.

Do as many activities as you can. Get involved and try to make a difference. Just relax... you will succeed far more if you relax and manage school work with enjoying yourself and friends a little bit.

This school's average student age is about 30, so if you only want to be around people your age who drink and party, this might not be the school for you.

Join clubs, start new hobbies, etc. Keep in mind that this is a commuter school -- most people just come to class, and then leave to go home off campus. It is difficult to make friends here, but it is worth it to put in the effort.
