Bang for the buck I can say some of the difficulties can have been avoided but when they get everything straight you should be good the rest of the time being. Its educational and fun at the same time, its definately worth the money!!!!!!
Am enjoying being here I can say I have had some rough times here but in the end you can prevail over anything. Prairie View is a wonderful school for academics and social events, so GET INVOLVED!!!! The people here are nice and will give you their last if they have it, plus its college so HAVE FUN!!!
Am learning a lot I have been at PV for almost 3 years now and I can firmly say that you cant help but learn something as your here. I am a firm believer that Prairie View Produces Productive People because their are so many great influences on this campus you cant help but to be motivated to achieve great goals. While there are some teachers who could care less about you but thats college for you, NO BABYSITTING IS ALOWWED AT THE UNIVERSITY!!! But, Of course, it is just like any other college and has their flaws but I can say it does produce productive people, and I am one of the many.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who want to attend a Historical Black College. Future Nursing Majors Open-Minded Students Future Leaders Productive Students College Prepared students, Prairie View is nothing like High School.
Tips for prospective students Beside Prairie View's location, there is always some type of activity that enrolled students can get involved in on or around campus. It's location is also another reason that Prairie View A&M University is so family oriented. However, when choosing this University, you're in for a journey, a wonderful journey at that. Once you're a Panther you're always a Panther. PV...YOU KNOW! Never stop applying for scholarships! Apply for housing early! Get involved!
Bang for the buck Most people think that college puts you in a financial hole, in some situations this is true, however there are so many ways to get what you. Around Prairie View, there are some many people, whether it be Alumni, Administration, Faculty and Staff who are willing to help you, if you are helping yourself. You may get worried, when it seems like your financial aid hasn't came through, but in the end it will all get worked out. They have advisers assigned to you there as always ready to help. Prairie View is definitely worth the time, stress, and money.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy being enrolled at Prairie View A & M University, because it is such a friendly and family oriented campus. My first semester I lived in a dorm, best experience of my life, you really get involved and build friendships with people that aren't as scattered around campus as others. The events are nice, the programs they have are much a success, and the Administration, Faculty, Staff, and study body make attending Prairie View the best decision I have ever made.
Am learning a lot Prairie View A&M University is a University that will not only push you to achieve academic success, however it provides you with the material you need to become an effective pillar of society, for Prairie View A&M University does Produce Productive People. Attending any college you receive just as much as you put in. Its majority all about attendance and grades. You must attend class, not only to know the information, but to pass the test and make the grades. Education should be number one everyone's priority list. I have been enrolled at Prairie View A & M University, for five months, currently going into my 2nd semester as a Freshman. That being said my first semester was very much so a success. Though the latenight study session, heavy homework load, and learning to balance classes was stressful as first, all my hardwork paid off, resulting in a 4.0 GPA. I admit I learned alot my first semester in college, and I wouldn't change this experience for the world. College is not only about getting a degree it's about founding yourself and networking, building long-term friendships with professors and your peers.

Tips for prospective students LOL, there was a reviewer earlier who said he thought they didn't want to help them; they can be like that but at the same time they’re others that will go out of their way to help you. I've had an advisor chase me down to give me something that would be a great opportunity (like literally).
Bang for the buck I'm not sure what that means, so I'm not going to say anything.
Am enjoying being here At first it was difficult, but now it's great there are a wide variety of personalities.
Am learning a lot You only learn as much as you want to. I've learned a lot in some classes and very little in others. It's all about their teaching method, some teachers are old and some are young. But honestly it's all up to you how much you learn!

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students You must have patience if you are considering enrolling in this school otherwise you will be very discouraged.
Will learn a lot I have visited this campus several times because I was interested in attending it in the Fall of 2009. This faculty that I have spoken with pretended like they wanted to assist me with enrolling but each time that I have attended I leave not knowing much more than when I visited. I'm very frustrated and feel that they do not want me as a student. You have to jump through hoops to get any info and they really act like they don't care. I am now looking at going to another college because of this.

Tips for prospective students Prairie View A&M University is a school that will not only push you to achieve academic success, which is very important, but it also nurtures you socially to become a pillar of society, for Prairie View A&M University does Produce Productive People. Although placed in the country, it is still always some type of activity that students can get involved in and if not Houston is only 30 minutes away. The fact that it’s not right in the middle of the city provides for it to have the close knit family atmosphere that Prairie View A&M University is known for. The campus is beautiful, especially compared to other Historically Black College/Universities (HBCU). Prairie View A&M University is ranked one of the BEST in the nation as far as academics, and it’s true!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If your the type of student that works hard but know when to have fun, the type of student that doesn't let simple things get them down, the type of student that can take on anything thorough there way then what are you waiting for???
Tips for prospective students As an incoming freshman I didtn get to experreince panther camp and the bond of having a building of friends to call my family, but PV is my family now and this is what I now can call home, you'll soon realize here is where you want to be, where you belong, sure it a little over well meaning but will soon realize that It only makes you a better person in the end hope this gives you the push you need to make PVAMU your new home! :D
Bang for the buck Thing around here aren't that expensive they know were students so they try to make everything affordable for us!
Am enjoying being here There is so much to do her from Tuesday Poetry Night, Wednesday's Hump Day, weekend football games, The wonderful clubs and organizations, there's never a day where you can say there's nothing to do!
Am learning a lot This Is my first yea at prairie View, I've learned how to grow as a person and think like a young adult although it didn't start off as easy it got better, people are always willing you help you, with smiles and friendly faces!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Would like to attend a Historically Black College/University. Like to learn while simultaneously having the time of their life. Plans to be productive during attendance and beyond graduation.
Tips for prospective students Manage your time wisely... It is easy to get caught up in all there is to offer. Remember that classes are priority then enjoy the college life Register early for classes, housing, and financial aid. At the last minute you will be stuck in a long line and began to feel overwhelmed. Do not stay crammed up in your room- Join an organization/club, GET INVOLVED!!!
Bang for the buck This will be my third year at Prairie View. One of the first reasons I chose to attend was because tuition here was not costly. Prairie View does not charge you an arm and a leg and your experience is golden. The knowledge and experience you will have here cannot be put into a simple dollar amount.
Am enjoying being here Prairie View is the place to be. There is always something to do like activities, forums, lectures, theater play productions, game nights, athletic games... You name it, we have it! In addition to the academic growth that I have experienced here, I have been introduced to many people and adventurous opportunities. Prairie View is full of spirit and positive energy, even from thousands of alumni that I meet all the time. Panther Pride is contagious and continuous.
Am learning a lot Prairie View does possess some great and influential staff members. While I cannot say that everybody is perfect, I can say that the good out-weighs the bad. There may be a handful of professors that do not care about your progress and you individual learning track, but most of my professors have gone above and beyond. They have made sure that I was learning and excelling in what I set forth to accomplish in and out of class.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are lots of things to do for fun, but you must learn how to be friends with everyone possible, then it will make it a lot easier to learn about different events that take place on and off campus. Their are parties, game nights, fashion shows, talent shows, sport tournaments, and much more.
Food and Dining The food could be a lot better. There are not that many places to eat at on or off campus that are within the immediate vicinity. If you are a freshmen you need to have a car plan and simple. If you are a sophomore or higher you can cook your own food in your dorm rooms.
Dorm Life The campus is alive. . . there is always something going on around the campus, not much more complex than that.
Academic Rigor The classes and professors add a degree of challenge of their own. There will be times that make you scratch your head and times that will make you want to give yourself a pat on the back. You just have to remember to stay focus.
Tips for prospective students Remember that as a student you pay thousands of dollars to get your education, so make sure you use all the resources possible e.g. the professors are chop full of information and always willing to help just make sure you are serious about what you are doing.
In three sentences Prairie View is a very good school no matter your race. Some professors are hard to get along with, but that is expected anywhere. Prairie View has lots of students and professors that do help in anyway they can.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Prairie View has a strict policy against violence. There are multiple help centers around the university to instill family-friendly environments to help ensure student and faculty safety.
Greek Life Greek life is amazing. There are multiple known organizations to become involved with. They have yard shows, fashion shows, and they help out by giving back to the school for rallies and protests.
Clubs and Activities Prairie View has hundreds of clubs to get involved in and implementing your very own club is not far fetched.
Great for these types of students Prairie View fits for anyone. There are an array of people that differentiate in ethnicity that fit well with the environment and the people.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Prairie View is known for their Baby Dome. It is a dome-like structured facility used to help host tons of events and gatherings when speakers come to the school.
Bang for the buck Prairie View does not require a high tuition. You get the right information along with life skills for less than you would at a more profound institution with higher tuition rates.
What to do for fun At Prairie View, our Campus Activities Board arranges multiple intramural sports for the students along with game nights and fashion shows. There is always something to do if you are interested.
Food and Dining The food at Prairie View is good, but it can be better. They could have a better variety of food that is just as nutritious as it is tasteful.
Dorm Life Living in the dorms are exceptional! You get to meet people that will forever have an impression on your lives along with friends that will last a lifetime.
Academic Rigor Prairie View does not make the work easy on us. They make it challenging so that we as students will aspire to gain more knowledge and increase our willingness to learn.
Tips for prospective students I advise students to be prepared to work hard and diligently. School is a place to gain knowledge and grow as a person, but you have to be willing to minimize procrastination and become efficient and productive in your work ethic.
In three sentences Prairie View has been a remarkable experience for me in enriching my life with new goals and opportunities. I've come to realize that my school is more than a school, but a home to thousands of individuals that appreciate the love and care that the Prairie View A&M Faculty and staff produce. I love my school and would not change it for anything in the world!

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus has a police department inside it so they are always around.
Greek Life Greek life is taken very seriously here. They are very competitive as well.
What to do for fun We have a lot of areas on campus that allow you to hang with your friends like the Purple Zone and the Game Room and we have get togethers. We do talent shows and fashion shows as well. There are movie theaters nearby and a great outlet mall close by too.
Tips for prospective students If you are willing to meet different types of people and are looking for a new experience, this school is the one for you. There is people from all around the world and the professors are down-to-earth.
In three sentences Prairie View A&M University is a HBCU school but has a lot of diversity. It has a great educational environment and the Biology program is great and very competitive. Prairie View A&M is a great school located in Southeast Texas.

Categories Comments Food and Dining The food in the Msc which is the memorial student center has great food. And with a meal plan all you do is swipe your card upon entering at the register and its all you can eat.Unless of course you decide to eat at the panther grill and get chic-fil-la adjacent to the main eating area of the msc.
Dorm Life The freshman dorms were a little smaller than i expected them to be.You have A side and B side.Only one window in there and thats on B side so you'll be lucky to get that side of the room. The bathroom is in between each side so that's a plus.Panther week which is the like the week for freshman activities to get to know the University better is fun and some of those activities take place in the dorms. They do have their guidelines and rules for co -ed and family or other building visitation including girl and boy visitations.
Academic Rigor The work load can get pretty big,but it all depends on your major and how well you prioritize your time.If you seek help from your professors and join study groups and stay on task with your work you be be just fine. Its do able.
Tips for prospective students When you go to PV they will have a lot of parties, but the main focus of being there is to get your degree. So go there and have fun but you have to create a balance and prioritize to ensure that you get what your mainly going there for.
In three sentences Prairie View is a live college. It acknowledges black history month. The activities they have there are a must attend.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is great for students who like to have fun but get serious when it's time to do so. Prairie View is also great for people who are shy and want to open up; this school has helped me in that perspective.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you research your federal and state aid options to avoid loans. If you go to the financial aid office, go as early as possible or you WILL be there for awhile. Start your semester off well so it won't be so hard to get your final grade up at the end of the semester. And last, even though there are so many things to do on campus, don't become sidetracked from what you are really there for: to get your degree.
Bang for the buck One of the main reasons I considered attending Prairie View is how low their tuition is when compared to that of other universities. When I really think about it, the quality of my education is very good considering what I have to pay to receive it.
Am enjoying being here I love this campus. There are so many things to do that you can never have anything to do. This campus has Real Talk, poetry nights, and guest speakers that really make you think. If you're not doing homework or working on a project, you'll always have something to do.
Am learning a lot I honestly didn't know there was so much pride in attending an HBCU. I've learned a lot of things that I will never forget.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great for the type of student that wants to feel like they matter at a school. A student that does not want to get lost in a big crowd. A student that can balance college parties and college classes without putting parties first. Honestly I feel like anyone can find a place at Prairie View. Me and all my friends are so different but this school works for all of us in its own way.
Tips for prospective students Look for financial aid, there is so much at this school and I'm not exaggerating. You may hear about the long lines in financial aid but it's definitely worth the wait.
Bang for the buck I'm attending this school on an academic scholarship. My only cost are the room and board I pay which are relatively cheap. So many people receive financial aid at this school sometimes I feel like I'm the only one actually paying for school and even with that I don't pay much.
Am enjoying being here I love being at Prairie View I have never felt so at home. It's a very friendly campus. The first time I visited I got lost with my family, but there was no shortage in students willing to hep me find my way. They were so respectful to my parents as well. The weekends can be boring at times, but really that is my only complaint. For it to be in such a small town with not much around, there's always something to do.
Am learning a lot Just in the one semester that I have been attending Prairie View A&M I have to say I am learning so much. My classes have been challenging but at the same time interesting. I have never done this well in school before, and I think the environment I am in at school is to blame for it. My classes are small and comfortable; the teachers are always there to help. There is absolutely no reason to fail at Prairie View A&M unless you just do not want to pass.

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students Some tips I would give to the Prospective Students when you attend Prairie View is to come with an open mind. Get involved around campus because the people here are nice and friendly. Also be careful of the crowd of people you hang with because that can make you or break you at Prairie View. I also would suggest that if you are a BIG party person DO NOT get 8am classes!!!
Bang for the buck College can be expensive anywhere you decide to attend. I would say the cost to attend Prairie View is worth it, because you get a great education, the housing on campus is nice, and the whole campus looks wonderful.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy being at Prairie View, because the classes are small and you actually get that One-on-One with the professors. Staying in the University of College (freshmen dorms) was a great experience. Living in the UC your freshmen year gives you the chance to network and build long lasting friendships. Not only that, but the parties and the campus events are fun and I love attending them.
Am learning a lot Prairie View A&M Produces Productive People, is a motto I live by. I've just completed my freshman year of a college at PVAMU and I must say I've learned a lot. I've learned that the staff and students are there to help you only if YOU want the help. They will not hold your hand a treat you like a baby, just like any other college, once you get to college your considered an adult. I've also learned how to manage my time while being at Prairie View and this is VERY important once you get to college. My freshman year was fun and full of new experiences, my journey is not over yet and there is much more to be taught.

Categories Comments Campus Safety For me it is safe. I'm an architect major and at times I'm in the architecture building at 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning and I've walked back to my dorm room across campus worry free. Just lookout for the skunks because they will spray you. Also during the events they do have security outside the gates of the dorm rooms to make sure that the people that are trying to get into the dorm areas actually live there.
Greek Life The Greek Life has been delayed for a couple of years due to unfortunate events dealing with hazing. But the Greek Life has been coming back slowly. The Greeks are active on campus by volunteering, hosting seminars and they do participate during hump day to stroll or step.
Clubs and Activities The clubs and organizations are great on campus. As I stated in the above comment it's up to the students on how active the club is. The clubs on campus are extremely active. It's word of mouth to find out whats going on, and how to join campus activities but; like organizations outside of schools, it's not going to find you, you have to find it.
Great for these types of students None of the Clubs or Activities limit themselves to a certain group of people. Anyone can join and thrive in any club. It's completely up to the individual.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Nothing unusual...every Wednesday we have Hump day which is sponsored by CAB. Music is played by the Alumni Field and the student body gathers around to interact with one another.
Bang for the buck Homecoming week is the event of the semester during the fall semester. The tent party on Alumni Field is an event that is hosted on campus at night two days before the big football game. During the spring semester we have Spring Fest which is a week full of festivities. Kind of like homecoming week.
What to do for fun With Prairie View in a rural area, on weekends some people may go home, but for the students that don't house parties and kickbacks on Fridays and Saturdays. But majority of the time there are programs that do go on, on campus.
Food and Dining I can't lie; the MSC (Memorial Student Center) doesn't serve the best food. The food is edible, but it's not going to blow your mind away. If you dine at the Panther Grill the quality of the food is better, but you'll have to use your Panther Bucks to pay for the food. I would advise you to only attend lunch on Mondays for the fried chicken; and Fridays for Catfish Fridays. For the rest of the days attend breakfast to substitute lunch, and eat dinner everyday because it's kind of hard to operate off of one meal a day...trust me.
Dorm Life The dorm rooms are great. No community bathrooms, and individual bedrooms in the upper class men bedroom. So it's up to you how clean or dirty your living quarters are. So it's best to communicate with your roommate(s) to ensure that the dorm room is as clean as possible.
Academic Rigor Professors at Prairie View A & M University do have pride in their jobs and will grade accordingly; but if you attend class everyday study the material and turn in the assignments your grade should be okay. Show the professor your serious about your education and they'll treat you like a true college student.
Tips for prospective students 1. Don't go to all of the parties. 2. Surround yourself with other students who challenge themselves to make A's 3. Get involved on campus; networking is extremely important. 4. Don't overwhelm yourself while at school...have some fun. 5. Get to know your professors. (after all they are handling your grades )
In three sentences Prairie View A & M University is a great institution to attend; like all schools it depends on the student to gain as much knowledge as possible. Prairie View promotes an effective learning environment with the campus library being open from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. and the architecture building being open 24 hours for architecture majors like myself.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Think you're going to have a boring college experiance? Think again! Prairie View A&M University has a mini movie theatre, extracurricular activities, a wide array of organizations to join, and parties nearly every week! PV is definately the place to be!
Food and Dining Prairie View A&M University has a wide arrange of food and dining locations on, off, and surrounding its magnificent campus. Driving into campus, University Drive is the home of many dining restaurants including a Frenchy's, Subway, Papa John's, and Brubakers. The Memorial Student Center hosts a variety of choices including a mini grocery store!! Basically, if you need a place to eat, a spot's not far!!
Dorm Life Prairie View A&M University has an excellent dorm life filled with both excited students and enthusiastic staff. Both of whom, go out of their way to ensure that the most safe and pleasurable experiance is maintained as a resident.
Academic Rigor As with any college, Prairie View A&M University is not immune to challenges within its academic settings. At times there can be disruptive students and difficult faculty members, but if a student has the correct academic drive, these issues quickly become non-factors.
Tips for prospective students 1. Go to class. 2. Sit in front. 3. Get to know your professor on a personal basis. 4. Complete all assignments given. 5. Network !!!

Categories Comments What to do for fun This school always have things for us to do because the location is kind of in the middle of no where, so we have many student park events where we eat mingle and dance, talent shows, pageants, step shows, etc.
Food and Dining The food is okay. The best thing about it thats its a buffet and we can eat all you want. The worst thinh about it is that it closes at 7:00pm so you have to make sure you get full for the rest of the night.
Dorm Life I feel safe in my doom. I have my own room and restroom. My CA constantly checks on my roomates and I to make sure everything is ok.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you just stay focused at all times. There are many things to do around campus so that we can stay productive. Dont let the PARTY LIFE get the best of you.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Prairie View like I said before is a wonderful college to find yourself as an indiviual, but do not get caught up where you don't belong. Be yourself and the people will come to you, and as far as that AIDS/HIV rumor that is going around, its not true at all. How can Prairie View be known for AIDS/HIV if we are one of the smallest universities in the state if Texas.
Tips for prospective students For future students, when you get accepted here and your a freshman don't get caught up in the parties lol..... you can attend some parties, but make sure YOU GO TO CLASS!!!! The professors don't care if you come or not its your money that they are getting but also remember its your education and you want it.
Am enjoying being here I really do enjoy being here, it's fun and there's a lot of organizations to join so you should never be bored. I am a freshman here and everything is great I enjoy every bit of this university and I am happy I attended here.
Am learning a lot The negative remarks that people speak about prairie view university are false. Prairie is a comfortable university to be at and find yourself as a person. The learning experience is quite intriguing when you attend here. You can feel the spirit of intelligence and different personalities when you step foot on this campus. It's a great place to be I'm telling you.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you plan on pursuing a career in Medicine, we have one of the top Undergrauate Medical Academies in the Nation that propels students into Medical professional school by preparing them for professional entrance exams like the MCAT, DCAT, etc. Also granting exposure to research facilities performing recearch in various areas. PVAMU is also on of the top Nursing, Engineering, and Architecture.
Tips for prospective students Early in the new on-time. HAVE ALL FINANCIAL AID DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED at least a month in advance before the start of the following semester. Get contact information from the housing department, financial aid department, and your desired major department. Call these departments at least once a week and check up on your current status, anything needing to be completed, and estimated time for completion of profile review.
Bang for the buck The bang for your buck comes in how active you are as a student. Being involved in organizations, networking with faculty and staff, being an effective and competitive student are the impact of the bang.
Am enjoying being here The on campus life is AMAZING! There are many social activites happening on our campus: cultural events, concerts, community service opprotunites, and even professionals hosting engagements on our campus.
Am learning a lot I am a biology major and being here at Prairie View A&M University has exposed me to some of the best graduate facilities, opprotunities in undergraduate research, summer programs hosted at Professional Medical schools around the U.S., and a condisive environment to learn and be molded into a future practicing physician.

Categories Comments Campus Safety there are as many mishaps here as there are on other campuses, the unfortunate part is that this campus is smaller and therefore cannot hide as much as a larger university but the campus is safe. careless mistakes and risks of course will make it as dangerous as any other college.
Greek Life cant vouch for that since i do not participate in them.
Clubs and Activities in the realm of rotc we do a lot as far as spending time together whether it is sponsored by the actual organization or just organized by us. the other clubs engineering, tech, and frats all seem to get out and do a lot as well so the activities are good. the clubs are fairly numerous as well so you will be able to find something that suites you and your major.
Great for these types of students students that want smaller universities and the chance to get a lot of help from teachers would definitely like this campus. also those who have higher gpas get the benefit of nicer housing, the higher the gpa the nicer the housing (which is divided into phases).
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus every wednesday the students have a sort of gathering where they play music, sign up for clubs, socialize and have fun, its an interesting scene definitely something to check out while living on campus.
Bang for the buck the money is definitely worth it if you can also afford the time. although its a smaller university the classes arent exactly easier, soem can be challenging and some can be easier. from what i have gotten i can say that it is worth the money, you get a very good education for less cost than other larger universities with more individual attention as well.
What to do for fun the campus has a movie theatre that shows a few films now and again. if not there are always some events that the students themselves sponsor to keep people amused. while there isnt too much in the entertainment scene around hempstead or waller, a few miles farther down there road there are a lot of things to do in cypress, if one can get a ride down there.
Food and Dining the food is not bad, its of course not the top notch cuisine but it doesnt have to be since its meal plan food. the few times i have eaten there i can attest that the food is fairly good.
Dorm Life i live off campus so i no personally experience with the dorm life.
Academic Rigor any of these course are what you make of it, and you get out of it what you put in. if you focus this college is like any other and can be tougher depending on the major.
Tips for prospective students apply for all the financial aid that you can, regardless of whether you think you might need it or not, its always good to have a back up in case a payment doesnt go through or you run into some money trouble personally. keep to the studies and
In three sentences the university itself is a great place to attend, i wouldn't have thought so if i hadn't come to this school. the smaller population allows for a more personal academic experience and the connections this school has offer a number of jobs upon graduating. the school is cheaper and has a habit of flushing out those who aren't committed to their education by the first year.

What to do for fun anything that you enjoy, just get involved and you will never be bored.
Food and Dining needs improvement on more selections. the upside is that they have a panther grill and other places located on campus to eat.
Tips for prospective students get your information in on time and continue to update yourself on important information.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the police have a response time of two minutes, no matter where on campus a crime occurs. they are very quick and tend to catch those who have committed the crime. the police ride around every part of campus so you see them all the time.
Greek Life better than ever! every spring, there is the probate, that allows us to see all the new members. the night before, there is a caravan, where the greeks ride around campus and end in one of the upper class man dorm areas and there is a big celebration. the university strongly discourages hazing, so there isn't an issue with that.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus every wednesday is hump day on the hill. for two hours, music is playing and the greeks come out for some fun! sometimes, especially during homecoming week, we may have guest artists to perform.
What to do for fun during the week, there are several parties to attend. on the weekends, you can go shopping at the outlet, only 20 minutes up the freeway. downtown houston is only about 45 minutes away so there are plenty of things to do there as well.
Food and Dining aside from the regular cafeteria, we have chick-fil-a, a grill, and a smaller cafe in addition to the panther mart that allows you to grab a few minor groceries. after a while, you get tired of eating the cafeteria food, but there are a few surrounding places to eat at like denny's, domino's, or a barbecue place right outside campus just to name a few.
Dorm Life as a freshman, you most likely will stay in the freshman dorms. however, there are some freshman staying in the upper class dorms. the freshman dorms give you a chance to make friends and you become very close. the upper class man dorms are like mini apartments, and give you so much freedom; you get to experience what its like to be on your own a little bit.
Academic Rigor depending on your teacher, you may have to do more work or more reading. either way, you need to prepare yourself by being comfortable with both. so far, all my professors have given me at least one essay to write, whether on an exam or for a paper so make sure your writing skills are decent.
Tips for prospective students it may be best to bring a car, considering groceries and fast food places require you to drive there. to get an idea where your classes are, walk around and make sure you know where each building is. most important, do everything you can ahead of time, it will save you tons of time!
In three sentences pv has a very beautiful campus! there is always something to do, so in your leisure time you are never bored. the resources available to you are well worth taking the advantage.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the campus features police and security and there are emergency phones throughout the campus; options for students who wish to have an escort may be found by contacting the police at the respective blue phone stations are simply calling from a respective place that has a campus phone to use.
Greek Life the greek life is extensive here at the university; the greeks hold seminars, pageants, and other experiences to help students enjoy the time during the college life.
Clubs and Activities the campus has a plethora of organizations on tap. the students can visit during the open house events to find out about the many clubs and activities the happen throughout the year. recreation sports is another opportunity to get active in the campus setting; and outside of those events their are the sports, pageants, all night laundry and dining event, and other features here at prairie view.
Great for these types of students the campus is great for students of any background. this historically black college/university has a pluralistic setting when comes to students, staff and faculty.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus unusual traditons on campus include the wednesday event known as hump day, which recently feature passing 5 hour energy to students during midterms, as well as information on how to improve studies during this period; oftentimes the event also serves as method of venting or stress release for students and features college related activities, announcements, music, and times for giving back like when the blood donation vehicles arrive.
Bang for the buck i am pursuing two degrees in graduate school and aim to utilize them in a college setting. since the first time i chose to do volunteer work for a few semesters on campus during my undergraduate period, i have desired to give back to my school by working in a fulltime capacity as a leader in the campus decision making process or at any other institution for education. i have contibuted in projects to improve the curriculum choices and instruction, to improve the living and working environment with nearby housing for staff, and faculity, and also through my graduate assistance position presenting ideas for improving the educational experience. this is what my studies in community developmnet and educational administration will afford me and this is only the beginning. the college of education and the school of architecture are highly recommended to anyone who wishes to pursue academic and professional development for life careers.
What to do for fun prairie view has so many options for students; the most memorable opportunity come with hosting spirit rallies for freshman dorms; these sets the stage for team work in college life and many eventfully find the greater options for activities in sports, critical thinking challenges like honda quiz bowl tournament, pv choice awards, talent shows, theater art and performing art programs, and so many more options. the key is participating in your college career to further develop your interpersonal skills.
Food and Dining sedexho services has been around for a number of years for students who have on-campus dining. the service has an array of dining options for the student including opting to use school point to eat in the campus foodcourt or shop in a nearby campus mart with the same complex as the cafeteria dining, all provided by sedexho. there are options in the tri-city area for eating, so whatever preferences food and dining are a welcome alternative to cooking.
Dorm Life the campus life is one that can be a challenge for some; however once the priorities are customize to where you exist throughout your college career it becomes more enjoyable. the on-campus living provides so much in the way of options for students, that it's very likely dorm life can be recognized as fiunctional, fun, and focused. the first fews years students should be encouraged to stay on campus, if possible. so once the first-time students acclimate themselves to the housing climate and the educational instruction schedule, then the choice can be made to pursue off-campus living.
Academic Rigor prairie view a&m university is far from being rigid and inflexible wth its educational program. they have a tendency to gage the students on where they are with their investments in education. prairie view takes that very seriously; so they look for ways to make the experience more conducive to gaining that degree of higher learning and more constructive with the hands-on learning environments, field trips and other ways of educating a student in the 21st century.
Tips for prospective students always be on time from the day you approach your place in higher education, to the classrooms to the interviews. second tip would be to bring a recorder to your class to that you can refresh your memory on the lessons given. next tip is to eat and exercise for life since the bulk of your days may be running from classes to meetings; make good choice in your diet to assist your cognitive abilities, and better harness your affective character. dress for where you are heading in life would be another tip. and finally, make productive choices while in college, treat each semester as if you trying to maintain a 4.0 and take pictures of yourself making successful moves and decisions.
In three sentences prairie view a&m university is a university continually developing to become one of the exceptional choices for undergraduate studies, graduate studies, post-graduate studies, certifications, and continuing education. the education offered is constantly being recognized for providing students exceptional choices in endeavors. the real reward comes with being able to network throughout your college career when not only impressive businesses vying for interns and employees, but professors ready to mentor with their students.

Categories Comments Campus Safety they have made it a point to set up boxes around the campus so if you have an emergency you can push the button and someone will come to you. the campus patrol are always cursing the campus.
Greek Life it seems to be of importance but, i've only truly witnessed the kappa alpha psi and omega phi psi chapters.
Clubs and Activities there is a club or almost everything and for everyone ! its up to you to get involved.
Great for these types of students any type of student :)
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the school use to be a slave plantation. our school library is the tallest building in the town. we have a grave yard all the way in the back of our school.
Bang for the buck out-of-state tuition is no joke!! in many states it will be that way. if your a texas resident the cost is not so high.
What to do for fun there is always something going on on campus, such as events with guess speakers or spit knowledge, talent shows, pageants, step shows, basketball games, game nights, movies, homecoming, and spring fest.
Food and Dining in the msc ( dinning hall ) they have some good food, but you get tired of it really quick. this is why we have things called pantherbucks which is basically money you get to used at our other dinning areas on campus such as, panther grill, chick-fil-a, purple zone, and jazzmines.
Dorm Life as a freshmen you have varies restrictions and limitations. this is only to help the transformation from living with parents to being on your own. the rooms give you privacy, and come with a mini fridge and microwave.
Academic Rigor you get what you put into it. college is all about you and challenging yourself. if you need help don't be afraid to ask questions, if your wondering it more than likely someone else is too.
Tips for prospective students come to this school with a positive attitude and with the knowledge of where you want to be. stay focused in all courses now (in hs) and when you get to prairie view. bring a car freshmen year !

Greek Life EVERYBODY LOOKS THE GREEK LIFE!. Probate is fun every year.
Clubs and Activities There are so many you can join, whether it's in your field/major or if you just want to be apart of something.
Great for these types of students All student types are welcome, it might even bring a side of you that you never knew you had.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus What's very interesting is that the ground we walk on used to be a plantation, were slaves were own and some of the buildings were hospitals, or clinics.
Bang for the buck Not expensive at all. Financial aid works with you and there always scholarships available to you.
What to do for fun Bascially they have events every day. Nothing that last to long or would interfere with your school work. If your a Church goer then, going to Church could be fun. Swimming at the indoor pool. If your a couple walking around campus with your boyfriend or girlfriend. But to have the most fun you should join organizations.
Food and Dining Food is wonderful, they almost taste like home cooked meals. If you eat a lot its like a buffet. On the week days you have Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Then on the weekends you have Breakfast, Brunch, and Dinner.
Dorm Life Wonderful, its like an mini apartment. No curfews, light rules but everybody needs a little rules. There are always competitions against the different dorms, nothing to competitive just all for fun. But trophies are awarded.
Academic Rigor It's not hard at all. It's not about the students who sit in front. It's about knowing your professor. If you work with them, they will work with you.
Tips for prospective students Like they always say its Home away from Home. You'll always receive a great education schooling isn't expensive. They are always involved with the student body. Events after afters, the community stays involved with our school too.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are many things to do for fun on-campus. Of course there will be partying, but other than that, the MSC (Memorial Student Center) is a nice place to hang out with your friends just to chat or meet up. Also there is a cafe located in the library, it's a nice quiet venue to either get a smoothie or coffee with friends or meet up to discuss homework.
Tips for prospective students I would tell any student who is considering attending Prairie View A&M University to come with their A game when it comes to learning. Have fun, but do not lose sight of the real reason you attend this school. Make it a dedication to come to class on-time and sit in the front of the classroom if seats are available. And last but not least, show your professors that you are engaged and concerned about your grades, they are there and willing to work with you if you are having any concerns.
In three sentences Prairie View A&M University is a college campus that values its student's ambition to strive for greater excellence. The faculty and staff engage themselves to the well-being of their students so that they will one day become successful at any career avenue they choose. What to do for fun For fun, most of us go out and party, go play basketball or football. and sometimes play video games.
Food and Dining Our food is good, but I know it could be better. Many of us don't want to eat it because it can be nasty or sometimes recooked.
Dorm Life Our dorms are okay for the most part. We get to have fun, meet people that stay with us and the living is fine. Its better than it was my freshman year of college.
Academic Rigor Prairie View A&M University produces productive people. Many of our students graduate and find really good jobs and internships.
Tips for prospective students A tip for incoming freshman. Always be well prepared for anything. Don't let the fun get in the way of your academics. Stay on top of your work and stay focused. Have fun, but don't get caught up.
In three sentences Prairie View A&M from my point of view is a university that I could never get enough of. The school is filled with fun, great academic surroundings, and spirit. I could say that it would be the best college for anyone to attend.

Categories Comments Campus Safety This campus is safe their has been some mishaps over the years but the campus authority has cracked down on safety of Prairie View and the students.
Greek Life Greek Life has surfaced back upon the campus of Prairie View over the past year. Some of the fraternities aren't back on the campus yet but they are coming soon. The other fraternities and sororities have can back and making a difference in bringing back some of the well known traditions here on the campus. Greek life is picking back up and everything is back to the way it should be with students actually giving the service that should be given.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and activities that students can get involved in making the time at prairie view very fun and worth it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There aren't really unusual traditions here on the campus but Homecoming is very student oriented and Prairie View has some of the best homecomings.
What to do for fun There are a lot of things that a student can do on campus. There are numerous pageants and talent shows and also parties. Some students may want to join organizations in ther majors to get better acquainted with their field or they can join other extracurricular activities like sports or band.
Food and Dining The Food and dining on the campus ill rate at 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. The school offers sort of variety of dinning places to eat like a cafe, grills and a Chick Fil A. Yes after a while it will get a bit tiring eating the same foods all the time but there isn't really that much off campus food places other then your usual McDonalds, Jack In the box, and Dominoes. Some Places do deliver to the dorm rooms for the students without transportation.
Dorm Life The dorm life at Prairie View is very good. The dorms work hard to meet the needs of the students too make sure we have a good resting place because this is our home away from home. Even though there is limited space for some students the school is working hard making more space for future students. Prairie View has some of the best dorms that give students privacy.
Academic Rigor The academic strictness on the Prairie View campus is at an high because the faculty work with students to make sure that we stay on track mentally as well as academically. Alot of classes are pretty challenging as you get deep within your major but the students help each other out in a way that helps get the job done. Although it isnt easy at times there may be that one professor that you may have to see again
Tips for prospective students Some tips for other prospective students would be to come to the school knowing what you want to get into because there are a lot of things on this campus that one can get involved in.
In three sentences Prairie View A&M University is one of the best schools to attend when getting an education in higher learning. From all of the history and school spirit the pride of the university; students leave with productivity. This particular HBCU is one of the top schools in my opinion because Prairie View A&M University produces productive people.

Categories Comments Food and Dining It's food. There's nothing great about it and there is nothing bad about it. the only thing is that you will get tired of it after a while and will probably start to leave campus to have lunch.
Dorm Life I don't stay on campus so I really cannot give any feed back on this.
Academic Rigor The teachers are very open to the ideas the students have. They also give back a lot of constructive critisism that helps improve your skills for the next project. They are very good about responding to emails after school hours and will even show up out of school hours to help out.
Tips for prospective students Like with all schools it is important to keep up with your paperwork. This includes everything from financial aid, to registration and transfers. No one will do this for you so it is very important that you get things done one time so you don't end up paying anything out of pocket.

Categories Comments Food and Dining The food and dining at Prairie View is okay. When you first get there it might be good because most people were used to eating high school cafeteria food, but after a while it starts to get repetitive. There are a few food choices that I like and enjoy whenever they decide to serve it in the cafeteria.
Dorm Life The dorm life at Prairie View is okay. As a freshman you share one small room with a roommate, with one bathroom in the middle that is just for you to. When you get to become a sophomore and up you get the chance to stay in an apartment style dorm which are very nice. The dorms have either 2 or four bedrooms. In the 2 bedrooms each person has their own bathroom and share a kitchen and living room. In the 4 bedroom there are 2 bathrooms in which 2 people share along with the kitchen and living room that everyone shares.
Academic Rigor Depending on your major certain classes might be harder than others. If you are a nursing, biology or engineering major you might have to do more work or study harder than other majors. At the end of the day college is college and no matter what you are majoring in you should study hard in order to succeed.
Tips for prospective students One of my 1st tips would be to not wait until the last minute to get stuff done. Whether it be financial aid or school work get stuff done earlier so that it will not be much stress on you later on. If you need help with school work or anything speak up and ask for help, because if you don't people will never know that you need help.
In three sentences Prairie View A&M is a wonderful and beautiful campus. I have met so many amazing teachers and students who have helped me through my first year in college. I am so glad that I made the decision to go to Prairie View because it is a wonderful school.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Being at Prairie View is like being in the middle of nowhere, but what my friends i did alot was workout, go to to the field and play a game of football, go to the courts and play some basketball, read, or play video games. At one point and time we would even put together seminars on certain topics for the student body to come out express there thoughts which is always fun because you never how the next person is thinking and its good way to meet new faces and network with people of like minds.
Food and Dining The food and dining at Prairie is phenomenal especially when you a 7 day meal plan. PV serves a little bit everything, but just like anything if you eat too much it can get a little old.
Dorm Life i cant speak to much about dorm life because i only stayed on campus my freshman year, but from that experince i will say it has its perks. When i stayed on campus i never had to drive anywhere because we have shuttle buses, that will take you all around campus for free of charge. The downside of staying on campus is that you have certain rules you have to abide by just as if you were in your parents.
Academic Rigor Being a business marketing student at Prairie view i can honestly say that i have been challenged in the Highest Manner possible when it comes to Academic Rigor. I can honestly admit that i have been lost on some subjects for weeks at a time and wasn't comprehending any of the information in class for example Business Stats was probably the hardest class I've ever taken in my life, but the professors are very willing to help when ever you have a question or need help in a subject. Tutoring is always available 5 days out the week for what ever subject you may have problems in and thats speaking from experience.
Tips for prospective students A few tips that i have for prospective students is first when choosing a major choose something that you could see your self doing for life other than just going to school to get a degree to make money because if you don't love what you do no matter how much you could make (money) there will never be a sense of satisfaction. Secondly dont discouraged about what people may tell when it comes to enrolling to PV because it can detour from wanting to apply, all that Im saying is take the initiative to go and find about PV on your own and not from what friends or family might say who have never stepped foot on a college campus.
In three sentences I've been at Prairie view for 5 years and i love everything about it. The campus has great student body along with great teachers. Prairie View A&M is expanding and its now diversifying itself when it comes to the appeal of future students and they are constantly raising the bar on academic standards of of students to withhold.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We have blue emergency lights spread across campus to help anyone wanting immediate security assistance. The security is not in the best physical shape, but we have a high number of them.
Greek Life There are various Greek clubs that have high standards academically. Joining one is highly encouraged.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs that it's ridiculous. You can easily start your own organization if you want as well. Banners and flyers are posted on public bulletin boards.
Great for these types of students Relaxed and prefer a rural setting. People who are social do well in classes with a small amount of students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have a weekly meeting that is campus wide for anyone wanting to attend each wednesday. Our chant allows us to find other PVAMU students and alumni even when not on campus.
Bang for the buck This school is appropriately priced. There is no excessive spending on unnecessaries.
What to do for fun There is not much do to on campus. However, there are multiple cities in the surrounding area. We are located in a rural city so country activites are available.
Food and Dining The food is good. The drawbacks are the hours the cafeteria is open and the seating available. With more and more students attending each year, the cafeteria is in need of an expansion.
Dorm Life The dorms for freshman are highly monitored to help keep freshman on track. There are bigger and less restricted living spaces available to upperclassmen.
Academic Rigor The class rigor varies drastically by teachers. We have our gatekeepers and those teachers that go out of their way to help you in class. A lot of classes use online tools so how computer savvy you are also affects your success, but only by a small degree.
Tips for prospective students Apply for classes as early as possible. Asking current students about what to teachers to take will really help you out. Nobody knows these classes as well as the students who have taken them.
In three sentences This is a highly proud HBCU that is big on campus spirit. There is always something to do and many networking options available. It is not too anything and set in a wonderful location for focused students.

Categories Comments Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Our school was built on an old plantation so you cannot walk on the grass in respect to the dead slaves.
Bang for the buck This school was the cheapest school that I applied to.
What to do for fun Since the school is in the country, there aren't too many things you can do for fun without a car. But you can always find a friend with a car.
Food and Dining There is a bbq place, subway, chick fil a. There are also pizza and chinese places that deliver.
Dorm Life The freshmen must live in University College or UC. It has a lot of rules but it's just so you're freshman year is successful. There are too many freshmen who don't make it to the second semester because of grades.
Tips for prospective students Always attend class, most of your grade is on attendance. Plus, by not going to class, you're just wasting money. If you are confused about a subject, get a tutor or ask questions, there is always someone who knows the answer to a question you don't know.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Various campus activities ensure that there is never a dull moment on campus. Houston and all that it entails is about 45 minutes from the school as well.
Food and Dining The food in the MSC is good, but will get redundant for most students. Chik-fil-a is available on campus as well as other nearby restaurants that are close by.
Dorm Life The dorms at PV are amongst the best in the nation. As a freshmen, you only have to share your bathroom with one other tenant. As an upperclassmen, your housing options expand.
Academic Rigor You will do as well in your classes as you desire. PV is widely know for its excellent engineering and nursing programs (very rigorous), but is also competent in virtually all of its degree programs.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is extremely safe! There's police patrolling throughout the day and night! There are also police post with a bright blue light at the top of it posted almost every where on campus just in case you happen to have an emergency, you can call with the push of a button! However, everyone knows, especially ladies, do not go any where alone at night. Use a buddy system! Get your roommate, neighbor, boyfriend, whoever to walk with you. Not saying anything is going to happen but it's just common knowledge. For instance, it can be scary at night, and for one I'm scared of the dark so this is why I choose not to walk alone. But other then that the campus is really, I mean really safe!
Greek Life Greek life is awesome! I can't wait till I become one of the lucky individuals a sorority choose to represent them. Hump Day on the Hill?? Thats when they come out and show off their colors and spirit to the students! It gives me chills every time, I swear!
Clubs and Activities There are SO MANY clubs to be apart of. And just like I said before join as many clubs as you can handle. If not, be sure to at least try SGA! We are the most respected organization on campus. But other then just being respected, we are Student Leaders. SGA is for the students! When I say For the students I mean we work for the students to make sure everything that what the student body wants, they get. They look to us in that manor. This is our school and we will make sure that things get done to help benefit the students any way possible. If you like to make a difference this is definitely a program to have in mind. Especially if your thinking about majoring in Political Science or you can be the Senator for your College. There is a spot for you! Maybe your knack is sports, they're always having tryouts! Who knows you could be the next Basketball, Football, Soccer, Golf, Tennis, Soft Ball, Track, Volleyball, or Swim Pro to come out of Prairie View A&M University! Remember, our motto is Prairie View Produces Productive People!
Great for these types of students Different stokes for different folks is what I say. Everyone likes different things, so I can't exactly say what is for who because I really don't know, but Prairie View does have something for everyone. That is for sure!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus During Homecoming we have ALOT of events that take place to get the student body pumped for the Homecoming game! All the alumni come back to celebrate with us! They camp out and tail gate and even let the students come over to eat! They feed us! Haha! What more could a student ask for? We can sit and talk to them, they offer advice and of course you may want to take their advice. They have the creditably since they are Almuni of the University! I for one look up to Alumni.
Bang for the buck I love my school! The student body is one that does stand up for one another! We will always come together at the end of the day and have each others back as a whole!
What to do for fun I'm old so I don't do anything (Haha)! But for fun I just hang out with my friends. Sometimes we have movie nights and might order pizza. But there is a game room in the Memorial Student Center which has a pool table, X-Box, Play Station and other things a student can enjoy! The MSC also host many different game nights that are TONS of fun! I remember we had Karaoke, a moon walk, dance games along with other fun things to bring the student body together! It was so much fun! The Laundry room also has Ping Pong and on Thursdays there is a DJ who plays music while you wash! Prairie View is surly the best!
Food and Dining The food has it's days but there is always something different to enjoy. We have a Chic-A-Fila and Panther Grill which serves anything from burgers to sea food! There is also a Subway, a Pappa John's and a Bar-B-Que spot within walking distance from the campus!
Dorm Life Dorm life has definitely gotten better! The freshman dorms are two to a room separated by a wall. You each get privacy! The dorms have nice walls, not like the white brick walls you'd find in a freshman dorm with no privacy what so ever at any other university. Its very secure, meaning photo I.D is required for every individual who enters whether they're a student from a different building or your friend from another school. There are TV rooms on each floor for quiet studying if needed, and always a CA (Community Assistant) on each floor who actually cares about your well being and make sure that your, 1 handling you business with school, and 2 enjoying your college experience. Right till this day I still keep in contact with my CA!
Academic Rigor It is always possible to make an A in any course if you apply yourself. By apply yourself I mean go to class, study, do your work, do extra credit (if possible), take the time out to get to know your Professors because believe me they want to know you. Participate in class and show interest. Your're not in school because you HAVE to be, that's what High School is for. College is for those who WANT to be here, who WANT to better themselves. This is a opportunity that many young individuals don't have. I for one am extremely blessed to be a first generation university attendant!
Tips for prospective students Come in ready to learn, not to party. This is a University with standards just like any other University. Join clubs like SGA and Honors clubs to better yourself and to better the student body. Run for Student Leader positions because people respect those who are doing more then the average with their college experience besides just going to class. Before you come to this University be sure that this is the right choice for you. Don't let anyone pose a influence on you unless its a positive one, make your own decisions! But over all just enjoy your freshman year to it's fullest, because all you have is one. Make it your most memorable year!
In three sentences Prairie View A&M University is on of the BEST HBCU's to attend. Here you will find small classes and caring Professors who only want whats best for the students. This University has truly taught me about life and gave me values that I can take into the real world once I graduate.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is very safe. There are always patrol cars patrolling. There are blue emergency stations everywhere.
Greek Life Greek Life is pretty fun. There is always a party being thrown by various organizations. The thing Greeks do the most though is hold information session or have volunteer opportunities for the students to better themselves.
Clubs and Activities I am in Gospel Choir and Trombone Choir. There are additional choirs. I'm in Marching Band and Pep Band. There are several bands. There is also intramural and recreation sports that I play often. There are also many athletic clubs as well as volunteer organizations.

Bang for the buck People here at Prairie View, if poked would bleed purple and gold. There is an overall sense of helping your fellow minority succeed in a world that often seems to tear us down. There are so many leader programs, mentor programs, financial aid programs, career programs for those who are willing to dedicate the time.
What to do for fun For fun I might play recreational sports in the gym or on the court. I might go swimming if I have friends with me. There is also a game room near the cafeteria. If not there are plenty of places to play video games or party.

Dorm Life Dorm life is fun. There is always something going on on campus right outside your door. Everyone wants to make more friends and meet new people.
Academic Rigor Although I thought it would be easier it is not. The tests the teachers give you are almost impossible. Most of it is stuff they didn't go over in class. Even when you think you got a good grade you can never be too sure
Tips for prospective students Know your goals and have them outlined before entering. All people go through change, but is important to never change from the person you are, you yourself must be unchangable if you hope to change the lives of others.
In three sentences Prairie View is much like a family, many pieces working together to a certain goal. I have noticed that most people here, besides the students have a genuine interest in seeing you succeed. The tradition and pride one feels is amazing while here.

Categories Comments Campus Safety One thing I can say about PV is that I never worried about my safety. Police provided escorts to anyone walking alone late at night which was a great luxury. There are also many emergency poles located on campus that with one push of a button, the police arrive.
Clubs and Activities There are various clubs at PV including, PALS, The Campus Activities Board, PV Mime and others.
Great for these types of students PV is great for student's that are serious about getting a great education and becoming successful adults.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus An unusual tradition on campus is that no one is allowed to walk on the grass out of respect of former slaves that worked the plantation in which PV was built on. There is also a graveyard a couple of miles behind campus. Students like to walk there at night on Halloween for a little scare.
What to do for fun Located in the MSC is a game-room which has 2 pool tables and various game consoles. Students love to come here and relax between classes. One thing about PV is that you won't be bored. There is always something going on. My school is a school that loves to have fun.
Food and Dining The Memorial Student Center or MSC as students call it, is the main dining hall on campus. It has its good days and it has its bad. The great thing is that there are many different varieties of food EVERYDAY so it won't be hard to find something to eat. Also there is an Chick Fil A on campus which taste great. There are a couple of other places to get food on campus which allow you to use your Panther bucks which is pre-paid money on your student ID.
Dorm Life The apartment style dorms located on campus are wonderful compared to many college campuses. Students have the option of living in a 2 bed/2 bath which is very spacious. There are also many other living options to choose from. All rooms come fully furnished including appliances and the living quarters aren't far away from classrooms.
Academic Rigor Classes were challenging and teachers were always willing to help. Their office hours come in handy.
Tips for prospective students Make sure they you get all of your financial aid business out of the way before school starts because late paperwork will delay the award process. Also sign up for housing ahead of time if possible.
In three sentences Prairie View A&M has it's flaws, as many schools due but overall is a wonderful school to earn your degree. The student teacher ratio is small which allows you to develop a great professional relationship with professors. Faculty may be hard on you but it is only because they want to see you achieve.
