Great for these types of students

Outgoing and fun people. Diversity is really cherished at this school. Athletics department is amazing. People are want to join a sorority or fraternity WITHOUT the risk of being hazed. Our school has a strict NO hazing policy. Finally, anyone who wants an amazing academic adventure or interested in one of the best nursing programs in the state of North Carolina.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are thinking of choosing this school, or any school at all, make sure you visit the campus and stay overnight. It is important to meet the people there and see how well you connect with them. Do not worry, upperclassmen are not mean that is just in the movies. Visit every college you are interested in and make the right choice; it is must more convenient to stay at one college all four years rather than jumping around. Make sure you like the food, I know that sounds silly but you will starve if you do not like it. All in all, just have fun and get to know people!

    Bang for the buck

The college may seem like a lot of money at first glance, but they offer great scholarships and finanical aid to everyone.

    Am enjoying being here

The campus is beautiful and small. It makes it easy to get up and go to class right before time and not worry about having to run to class. The dorms are very nice and clean. Yes, this includes the freshman dorms.

    Am learning a lot

The teachers and curriculum here is outstanding. You will learn important things to help you further your career.

Great for these types of students

Queens is great for any student who wants to be in a close knit community and wants to learn and receive a great college education.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you visit Queens! The campus is beautiful and there are opportunities all year to spend the night with a student and attend classes the next day. It is the perfect opportunity to see if you fit!

    Bang for the buck

Although the tuition is high, the school is always willing to work with students to help them attend. The financial aid office will look for every scholarship and grant available to the student. The education level and the people make everything worth it. The school contains a number of traditions and clubs and sports and sororities/fraternities and opportunities to explore the city.

    Am enjoying being here

The school is in a very affluent area in the city of Charlotte. The school is small and everything is within easy walking distance. Although Charlotte is a large city, you would never know it considering where the school is. The clubs and organizations within the school work hard to involve the students not only in the Queens community but within the Charlotte community.

    Am learning a lot

I just finished my first semester at Queens University of Charlotte and I absolutely love it! The classes are small - there are no classes with more than thirty students. The teachers are skilled and knowledgeable in what they teach. Teachers and students work together and between the professors and the Learning Center for Academic Success, they are determined to help the student learn.

    Tips for prospective students

Definitely visit campus, and get acquainted with your admissions counselor! They are all super nice, and they will answer any and every question you have.

    Bang for the buck

Queens is expensive. But there are tons of financial aid options available for students, and the staff at Queens is more than willing to work with you. More scholarship money is available for more expensive schools, and all I can say is that you get what you pay for.

    Will enjoy being here

The first time I visited campus was in the summer of 2010, it is so beautiful and just all around amazing. It is really small, but you are in a great neighborhood just a few minutes away from Downtown Charlotte. The buildings are very clean, even the doors, which is always good.

    Will learn a lot

The teaching staff seems great, and they have an amazing selection of undergrad programs. What attracted me to the school in the first place was their international program. Around 90% of students at queens either do a summer study tour, or study abroad for a semester which is an AMAZING oppurtunity!

Great for these types of students

Students looking for a small school. Small class sizes One on One attention Friendly people to meet

    Tips for prospective students

Be prepared and on top of assignments. Even though this is a small school and the professors are nice and understanding this is still a school and you have to stay focused and not get to rapped up in other things. Getting things done ahead of time prevents last minute work pile ups.

    Am enjoying being here

Even before you are a student here the students and faculty make you feel welcomed. You are one big community and there are always activities on campus hosted by the different organizations on campus. When you are at Queens being bored is never an option.

    Am learning a lot

The professors are here to help you. They are very flexible to having meetings if you need additional help and there are even other areas on campus that are here to help you learn as much as possible, such as the center for academic success.

there is a lot to do around campus and off. there is plenty to do to get involved on and off campus. charlotte is so much fun.

    Food and Dining

there is not a lot to choose from. the cafeteria is not that great and doesn't open up before my morning classes so its not really worth getting a meal plan.

    Dorm Life

it is nice to live on campus, you can get to any class within 5 mins. right now there is a lot of construction and it is kind of annoying. i am in nursing school and it is not worth living on campus anymore because all of the classes are off campus now.

I didn't know what university I wanted to attend when I applied to Queen's. I hardly ever thought about even attending Queen's, but when I went for my first campus visit, I KNEW I HAD TO GO HERE. The atmosphere is amazing, filled with welcoming students and teachers. Everyone is willing to go out of their way to aid you in anything you need. I am looking forward to starting out my fall as a Royal.

    What to do for fun

I had a lot more fun first semester of my freshmen year but that was because I did not get a lot of work done. For fun, I do like to go out with friends to the club or play sports outside. There are also other on campus activities that go on.

    Food and Dining

There isn't much choice for food and dining on campus for students who do not have a car. There are some places walking distance about 10 minutes or more but other than that there aren't much option. There is a cafe or dining hall and Lion's Den.

    Dorm Life

Depending on what dorm you live in, life can be great! Living in freshmen dorm is not all that bad but is not as great as upperclassmen dorm. You'll just have to wait until another year!

    Academic Rigor

Classes at Queens are small and discussion based. It is important to work very hard in classes because some are rigorous while other may not be.

    Tips for prospective students

Before you decide to attend, make sure you think about your other options. Queens is a great school but is very expensive for a lot of people. Try to get as much scholarships and aids!

    In three sentences

Queens is a great place to be if you like small schools. The people are great and there is a great diversity in students. Charlotte is a great city to be in at night.

    What to do for fun

you can literally walk downtown and there is so much to do there, movies that have full meals, bowling, many clubs, and restaurants. and there is a park not too far from school that is beautiful in the fall and spring.

    Food and Dining

This too depends on the day. if you visit, the food will be good, but slowly goes downhill from there. we wait on the days that they have visitors. food will be good then.

    Dorm Life

Depending on where you live, it is a fun and happy community, like a home away from home. your Ra's will have fun games and activities to do. its just up to you to do them.

    Academic Rigor

The teachers help you out as long as you ask questions, but you HAVE to ask. keep up with work, because it is easy to get behind.

    Campus Safety

The campus is very small, but there are police patrolling 24 hours a day, all day. It is very well lit and I have personally always felt safe and protected walking around campus.

    Greek Life

Since Queens is such a small school there are only two Fraternities and four sororities. Each fraternity/sorority is involved in a specific philanthropic organization, plus all Greeks are very involved throughout campus. There is a no hazing policy at Queens University, which makes joining less stressful.

    Clubs and Activities

There are countless clubs and activities at Queens University. Not only are there varsity sports, but there are many intramural sports as well such as: volleyball, basketball, soccer, etc. There are other clubs/organizations such as: CUB, Relay for Life, T2U, along with many honor societies.

Great for these types of students

Great for someone looking to go somewhere that is very involved in the community and connecting the students to the real world. It is for students who want to excel in life and those who truly want to reach their goals in life. Queens' staff will aid all students in reaching what they truly want in life.

    Bang for the buck

At first, Queens seems extremely expensive. Since it is a small private university, they are more willing to give out scholarships and financial aid to those who are in need. I thought Queens University was out of my price range until I received my financial package, which turned out to be cheaper than going to a state school.

    What to do for fun

Join a club or organization! The best way to have fun is by staying involved. Trying new activities with friends is the best way to bond. Plus, Queens is about 3 miles from uptown Charlotte, which offers many restaurants, shopping areas, bars, and much more. It is a great and modern city to explore.

    Food and Dining

The food is decent. It is much better than the food at a large university, but it can seem repetitive. The only complaint I have is that the dining room closes around 7:30 p.m. and opens around 7 a.m. I think it should have more availability and be open more and longer throughout the day.

    Dorm Life

All of the dorms are clean and updated. Every room has enough space for the number of people intended. You become family with the other students living around your building and throughout the campus. Everyone becomes super close.

    Academic Rigor

After completing my freshman year, I reflected on the number of hours I studied for for each test and final exam. It added up to a huge number of hours. The courses are difficult, but make students think outside of the box and push them to think farther than they ever expected. New concepts and ideas are explored daily.

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved! Step out of your comfort zone and try something you are actually interested in, not just something your friends are doing! Be open minded. Try to get to know some people that you may not first think of being your best friend; I'm sure you will find some really great characters. Last but not least, find balance in life. Study enough to make remarkable grades, but also have fun and experience life.

    In three sentences

Queens University was my top choice, and definitely proved my preconceived opinions true. Not only is the campus beautifully built of brick and flourishing with gardens, the atmosphere is remarkable. I truly experienced a wonderful connection with my professors and was given the best education one could ask for.

    Academic Rigor

Nursing is like no other major. You will need to have a good foundation in a lot of academic areas. As stated before, it requires a lot of hard work. But if you are serious and put your all into it, you will come out as a shining star!

    Tips for prospective students

As a nursing student, it is very wise to have completed the majority if not all of your prerequisites before applying. Nursing requires a lot of studying and hard work. It is beneficial to you if you don't have to split your time with other courses.

    In three sentences

Queens (Presbyterian School of Nursing) is a small, personable school who has shown themselves interested in their student's educational growth. My teachers are easily accessible. The fact that we are closely associated with a hospital makes a world of difference.

    Campus Safety

There are campus police on watch 24/7 on Queen's Campus. They are real police men and women that work for Queen's.

    Greek Life

There is greek life for women and men. They have their own houses on Queen's Campus that meet weekly with each other. They also do a lot of community service as a whole group.

    Clubs and Activities

There are many inter mural sports and clubs that students can join. There are certain clubs that you meet monthly that is directly for the students to express their opinions on how to better Queen's.

Great for these types of students

Students who are school driven, and do well in small classes would be a perfect fit for Queen's. You become close with your professors where you are not a number in a classroom. The professors know you personally. They know your strengths and weaknesses and help you learn and get better at the subject at hand.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The campus is beautiful. It is surrounded by Myers Park community with articulate houses. Trees and sculptures are placed all around the campus.

    Bang for the buck

Queen's is more a pricey school, but the education and professors are worth every penny. Plus graduating from Queen's is looked very greatly upon, and many companies and businesses are interested in where someone acquired their degree from.

    What to do for fun

There are Sunday Funday's one Sunday a month during the fall and spring so students can hang outside, grill hotdogs and hamburgers for the day. There are also movie nights on Friday's where Queen's has a huge screen that students can watch at night. Also throughout the year there are many fun get together and activities held for students to get to know each other.

    Food and Dining

Queens has a coffee shop, cafeteria, and a lions den. The cafeteria is all you want buffet and many different options hot or cold food. The coffee shop is ran by Starbucks products and coffee, along with other sandwiches, fruit, and salads made by Queens. The Lions Den is a nice hangout for lunch and dinner where all sorts of grilled food is made with TVS, jukebox, and pool table is so students can grab a bite to eat and hang out with friends.

    Dorm Life

Everyone should experience dorm life when they go to college. Queens requires freshman and sophomores to live on campus and then after that they can move off campus or stay on if that's what they prefer. The dorm life is very clean, and Queens has many activities to keep students occupied.

    Academic Rigor

The academics at Queens get everyone involved rather than listening to boring lectures. There are many assignments that you must complete outside of class.

    Tips for prospective students

Get to know your professors well. They will go out of your way to help you succeed in their classes, and will gladly meet with you outside of class to improve your grade or skills in that class.

    In three sentences

Queens University of Charlotte has a motto of Not to be served, but to serve. That is exactly what the students, professors, and the community around Queens does. Everyone is helping out each other for the best success.

    What to do for fun

Intramural's are extremely fun at Queens along with going out to the CUB events. Many people join Greek Life, which creates bonds as sisters and brothers for life. There are movies shown weekly and you can also find a friend to travel off-campus to Amelie's and grab some french pastries!

    Food and Dining

There is an excellent sandwich station, but the line can get long. Make sure you plan your schedule around the dining halls hours, otherwise it might be a long day without any food. The lions den is a good place to find food at night, but it also has restricted hours.

    Dorm Life

Leave your dorm door open and people will just stop by to say hey. Attending dorm activities is a great way to make friends and become closer with your RAs.

    Academic Rigor

Most teachers assign a lot of reading, so do assignments ahead of time instead of waiting until the last minute.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not overload yourself with too many activities and classes. If you find a job on/off campus, make sure you have enough time to commit to your studies. Get involved in at least two organizations on campus, it is a great way to meet other students.

    In three sentences

Queens University has great academics. It is a beautiful campus with many places to lounge about. It also has an extremely friendly student body population.

    Campus Safety

Because it's so small, many students leave their purses and things around the campus without fear of anyone stealing them. Also, there are police officers there to help and direct students whenever they need assistance.

    Greek Life

Queens has a no hazing policy, so Greek life is safe and fun. They also do not dominate the campus, so students who aren't interested in will not feel overwhelmed.

    Clubs and Activities

Lots to do and friendly people to help you do it! If you can't find a club you like, Queens encourages you to make your own. There's a newly formed Hispanic club as evidence of this.

Great for these types of students

If you are interested in studying abroad, Queens is the match for you! Your tuition covers air and ground travel, living accommodations with breakfast, AND the costs of admission to historic sites and museums. (All this information is listed on their website under the study abroad section). Their list of available countries is ever growing, and the areas studied are extensive. Also, if you love serving others, Queens is a perfect match because students are always travelling off campus to preform service projects.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Queens emphasizes community service in almost every area of the campus. It's wonderful for students who are passionate about giving back.

    What to do for fun

The school is located directly in downtown Charlotte, which is a big city with movie theaters, malls (the most popular is Concord Mills), hair salons, downtown shops, and the like located all over the city. There is also a shuttle to bring students to and fro Charlotte. Also, there are tons of campus activities.

    Food and Dining

The food is pretty quality. There is a salad bar, an ice cream station, and different foods (ie pasta, chicken, Mexican foods) set up in a fashion similar to Golden Corral most days of the week. There is also a Starbucks on campus for students and a mini ice cream shop.

    Dorm Life

Dorms are SMALL and co-ed by section (girls on the right side, boys on the left side of the building). Also, because the school emphasizes a 'family' environment, many keep their doors open, and do not lock them at night. It is a little surprising at first, but is easy to get used to. I stayed overnight at the college to experience this.

    Tips for prospective students

I learned while on a campus tour that Queens strongly emphasizes writing skills. The director of diversity and inclusion informed students to be prepared to write lots of papers while on campus. Also, don't stress out to much about test scores because Queens looks at students holistically. At the same time, however, don't blow off the tests. Practice and do your best, but if you're just not the testing type, you can still get in if you have challenging courses, meet the GPA requirement, and have quality extra-curricular activities.

    In three sentences

It is a very small school that is great for students who value quality relationships with professors. Queens goes to great lengths to make sure students are comfortable on campus by offering a wide array of student-run clubs, food choice options, and campus activities. Although the school is not very diverse, the students and teachers are very friendly and extremely enthusiastic about both meeting and learning from minority Americans and international students.

There's been a few break ins but really nothing major. Alcoholism is pretty bad in some freshman dorms though.

    Greek Life

    Clubs and Activities

Lots of clubs to choose from! GSA Psychology Ratio Christi Muslim Students International Students African American Students Board Game Club Art Club Project Airwaves Radio Habitat for Humanity Service Club Student Government And many more

Great for these types of students

Volunteers Athletes Nerds People who want to study abroad People who want small classes People looking for great internship opportunities

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Boar's Head - a huge winter festival complete with Victorian costume and live entertainment Ghost Stories on Halloween - After a day of residence life trick or treating, everyone gathers in the haunted Claudia Belk Auditorium to hear tales of Queens' haunted past; it's one of the most haunted locations in Charlotte.

    Bang for the buck

It's a bit on the expensive side but the internship programs, small classes, study abroad opportunities and experiences make it well worth it.

    What to do for fun

There's not a ton to do on campus unless you're in a club. Every Friday and Saturday night there's free pre-releases of movies. The Spring Carnival is oodles of fun, plus free stuff. They just built the Levine Center, a state of the art gym with a pool, which I haven't had the chance to test out. Charlotte is a lot of fun though. There's nightclubs like Butter, Prohibition and Scorpios. Concerts every night at Amos' Southend and the Double Door Inn. There are tons of museums and art galleries; three shopping malls, and Queens is walking distance from the beautiful Freedom Park and the Greenway which will take you just about anywhere in Charlotte.

    Food and Dining

The cafe is pretty good but they tend to serve the same stuff over and over again. The potatoes are divine and the desserts are tantalizing. And they'll make you whatever sandwich you want at the deli counter. Chicken salad is my favorite. There's also a salad bar and a constant supply of pizza. There are also two restaurants on campus - the Lion's Den and the coffeehouse, which serves Starbucks coffee and is student run. The Coffeehouse is great for quick meals (especially if you have an unlimited meal plan with meal exchanges to the coffeehouse, five a week) and for cramming before exams. The Lion's Den is standard fast food fare but it's got a free Jukebox and pool so it's a bit of an after hours hangout for students.

    Dorm Life

Dorms are on the small side but fairly clean. RAs are very attentive and also quick to socialize. here are also many socializing events and RA run parties in the dorms - pancake parties, movie nights, speed dating, you name it. Neighbors can be a different story, though. Especially if you live in Albright. Alcohol is also a bit of a problem in some dorms.

    Academic Rigor

Some classes are ridiculous. Projects with deadlines a week after assignment, quizzes every day, huge exams, tons of essays, etc. Other classes are much more laid back and more Socratic in methodology. It's an even mix. Art classes will strip away social lives, though. Think 30 plus hour a week in a ceramics lab to get finals done. As an art minor.

    Tips for prospective students

    1. Be open minded. Queens attracts a great level of diversity and prejudices of any kind have no place here. 2. Save up Lion's Dollars, coffee is a must for exam review. 3. Be involved in campus life, whether it's sports, clubs, chapel, or charity. Campus can be pretty boring if you're not doing anything. 4. Explore. There's so much to do around Charlotte if you know where to look. 5. Don't buy books in the bookstore - way too expensive. They're an outside company and filling orders takes way too long as well. 6. Don't be afraid to schedule appointments with professors, they're there to help. And they know what they're talking about. 7. Beware of Squirrels - they're everywhere and they throw nuts. They also jump out of trashcans without any notice. Ninjas, they are. 8. Albright is the party dorm; Albright, All Night, All Right. 9. Get those Gen Eds out of the way. You don't want to be a senior cramming in those pesky physical education and languages classes. 10. Service. Queens is all about service, so if you like volunteering this is definitely the place for you! There's always something going on in the community. Can you live up to the motto - No to be served but to serve? 11. Study Abroad! Queens covers the costs. 90% of students do so why don't you!

    In three sentences

Queens is a tiny, tight knit community residing on what may be the tiniest campus in the Charlotte Area. The professors here are incredibly personable and quick to answer any questions students have or just strike up a conversation; they are very well verse in their subject areas and many of them hold doctorates. Classes are small, the food is alright, and the neighborhood is beautiful.

    Greek Life

Greek life here is different from the stereotypical sorority and fraternity life that you will find at other schools. Here, they have many rules and they're number one focus is academics and community service.

    What to do for fun

You're in the middle of a city! You can experience an awesome city life! However, you are in NC as well so you are a very short drive away from the country so there's plenty of fairs, and outdoorsy things for you to do as well!

    Food and Dining

One of the downfalls is that because we are a small campus, we don't have any restaurants on campus. However, because we're in the middle of the city, we're a close drive away to anything. And although the caf isn't the best, it definitely has options and is better than many other schools!!

    Dorm Life

Very relaxed and open. Many people who live on your floor and even in your building, will be your closest friends throughout college. Queens has an awesome Honor Code system that makes everyone feel safe and trusting within the Queens community. The dorms are old, however Queens has been working to build new ones and refurbish the old ones.

    Academic Rigor

They hold their students to high expectations, but they do everything they can to help their students get there.

    Tips for prospective students

You can have a lot of fun at Queens with all the events they have set up for students and hanging out with other students, but make sure you take the time to get to know and respect your teachers. They know what they're talking about and if you go to them, they can really help further both your college and after-college careers with awesome opportunities. Professor-student relationships are Queens are a key ingredient!!

    In three sentences

After being homeschooled my whole life, Queens was a perfect fit for me because of its size. The school is small, but not the opportunities. Because you are set right in the middle of the gorgeous city of Charlotte, you build create connections with future employers. Queens gives you all the tools to not only be successful during college, but to help you be successful afterwards too. They are very student-oriented and do as much as they can to help us but also have fun.

    Campus Safety

It may be in the city but you may never have to worry about your safety on campus. Campus police is attentive and its surrounded by a lot of residents.

Great for these types of students

Science majors Business majors English majors

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Camp fire stories because the campus is haunted

    What to do for fun

There are so many things to do in and out of Queens. On campus we have many festivities all year long. Formal everts include Boar's Head and Casino Night. On weekdays fitness programs (Zumba, Bootcamp, palates, yoga, etc.) are held in the Levine Center. Queens is in the city, you'll literally be mind blown by things to do.

    Food and Dining

The food is great! Although it is a small school, their are many places where you can eat on campus. Queens holds some popular restaurants such as, Einstein's Bagels and Starbucks.

    Dorm Life

I'm a commuter this year but i spend most of my time in everyone's dorm while i wait for my classes. The dorms are SUPER nice (always clean and remodeled). The community at Queens is really respectful of other people's stuff. No one ever locks their doors, even when they leave.

    Academic Rigor

Courses are rigorous, but professors are really cool! The majority of professors will have their doors open to all students almost everyday in order to help them with material they may be struggling with. When that's not enough there is a Center for Student Success where private tutoring is available.

    Tips for prospective students

Queens is a small school and gossip does get around pretty fast. As long as you stay out of other people's business people will stay out of yours. Once you get into college people do go wild, its normal. But, for the first couple of day its also super important to stay on top of your academic responsibilities because it can really effect you in the long run. That's the whole reason you went to college right?

    In three sentences

I would give Queens a 9 out of 10. Although classes here are great and professors really do care about your education (they should it's their job) the university is never dull. There are so many activities in and outside of school, so its always great to relax sometimes.

    Campus Safety

Don't get locked out of your room.

    Greek Life

Greek Life is great. Meet your bridesmaids/groomsmen and join greek life. It's not like a big school or House Bunny type greek life, it's something completely different.

    Clubs and Activities

There's a lot of clubs, but not a ton of people in all these clubs. Find a club or two, but don't try to stretch yourself thin.

Great for these types of students

Students who really like to challenge themselves beyond what is given to them, are self motivated, and more concerned about academics than anything else.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Queens has a lot of great traditions that you have to attend for the full experience. Casino night, Moravian Love Feast, Boar's Head, Midnight on Ice, Exam Breakfasts, Homecoming, and Spring Carnival are all something you have to do at least once.

    Bang for the buck

Try to get as many scholarships as possible, Queens does come with a big price tag.

    What to do for fun

    Explore Charlotte!

    Food and Dining

Good luck if you have food allergies. They don't understand cross contaminations and there's maybe something decent once a week.

    Dorm Life

Most people keep to themselves in the dorms.

    Academic Rigor

Varies by professor, and you get what you put into it. Take Perkins for your science credit. Not many professors will take you hiking and teach class at the top of a mountain. Despite what people say, core is an awesome class. Really try to take stuff away from it, because it seems time consuming, but it is extremely valuable.

    Tips for prospective students

Be sure you are a person for a small school. When I say Queens is small, it is SMALL.

    In three sentences

It's a interesting little school, but definitely for those who are self seeking learners. There's a lot of opportunity for personal growth. The professors are absolutely fantastic.

There are great people here but most make you feel like you don't belong there if you are a minority.

    Campus Safety

Our campus is incredibly safe. Not only does Campus Police work around the clock and take their jobs seriously, but our Honor Code is so strict it leaves no doubt about the safety of our school. We can walk around campus at all hours of the night and not feel scared of what might happen, and if you do feel scared, Campus Police will walk you wherever you need to go. You can even walk the neighborhood by yourself and feel incredibly safe because we are located in one of the richest neighborhoods of Charlotte, and as such, the police department regards the area very carefully. The honor code allows for you to leave any and all of your possessions in an area and you can come back the next day and still see your items there, or you've gotten a call from campus police saying they have your item.

    Greek Life

I am actually in a sorority and it's the best decision I have ever made. If you ever worry about hazing, or if you won't fit in, this is definitely the place to be. There is an exceptionally strict no hazing policy at this school that makes new members feel incredibly safe. There is also an exceptionally strong Greek community relationship. We speak highly of all our sororities and fraternities and we work to empower each other, and never the other way around.

    Clubs and Activities

I'm involved in quite a few clubs here and I have to say that there is a club for everyone. If you play sports, but you don't want to join a team, there's intramurals. If you love anime, there's a club for that, to explore the city, there's a club for that. For virtually all your needs there's a club or activity that fits them. If for some reason there isn't, you can quite easily create one.

Great for these types of students

It's actually great for everyone. There is a vast amount of diversity here and no matter what type of person you are, you will most definitely find your niche.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

We can have hammocks all over campus in the Residential Quad, so if you just feel like having four hammocks between the same two trees, you have the green light. We are also allowed to go into the fountains here, not just dip a toe or two, but to actually put swim clothes on and stay in the fountain.

    Bang for the buck

Queens is extremely pricy, and while the price may be taking out a steep chunk out of your paycheck, it's an exceptional school. The rigor of the classes and the amount of activities they have planned every year leaves no doubt in your mind. Though in some areas it could be quite a bit better.

    What to do for fun

There is always something to do on campus. Always an activity, always intramurals and we're located in the city of Charlotte. There are numerous activities in the city to do.

    Food and Dining

It could be a lot better. When it's good, it's really good. When it's bad, you go to the Lion's Den on campus (for pool, Foosball, and a jukebox) and get some burgers and curly fries.

    Dorm Life

I'm in a suite, and it's extremely spacious. There are always things to be done in your dorm, and always people to hang out with. The only thing is that people tend to walk a bit heavily, so you might here that from time to time.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are not even the slightest bit easy. This is college after all. Any grade you receive on an assignment is something that you worked for. A's don't come as easily as you would expect when you were in high school. You'll have to study and get all your work done every night.

    Tips for prospective students

Apply early. If you get the opportunity, attend Scholarship Day. Visit campus (it makes the difference). Look for numerous outside scholarships as well, just in case. Do not think that college will be your time for slacking off, even in the slightest. It's going to be time to step it up. There is always time for fun though.

    In three sentences

Queens is a small school with a huge impact. It may seem surreal when you first step foot on the campus, but believe it or not, everyone here is as nice as they seem. Everyone here is exceptionally understanding and the classes are definitely rigorous.
