Categories Comments Great for these types of students People who want to learn, but don't have as much time as they would like.
Tips for prospective students Take as many classes as you can in the two years you have at the college.
Bang for the buck I'm not the one paying for it, but I think the prices for the classes are fairly priced.
Am enjoying being here While this school isn't terrible, I am looking forward to graduating. A four year school is where my excitement lies.
Am learning a lot I'm learning more than I thought I would.

Categories Comments Campus Safety there is plenty of campus security, and all of them are nice and polite.
Greek Life Not to sure about the greek life.
Clubs and Activities they do have a variety of clubs and activities, such as the bowling or xbox challenges.
Great for these types of students This is a great facility for first time students, to help you get into the swing of college, it is also great for students like myself who are adult students. You will find that there is a great diversity of students from old to young, to rich to poor.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus they have all kinds of nature trails that you can travel, which help to give you a place to exercise, or maybe just a place to clear your head.
Bang for the buck You do get a lot of value for your money, and there is not a lot of hidden fees.
What to do for fun They have all kinds, of tournaments and social activities available, if you have the time to get involved.
Food and Dining The only food available is that from a vending machine. It would be nice if they had some kind of cafeteria, but the student lounge is very roomy and student friendly.
Dorm Life There are no dorms at this college.
Academic Rigor They offer a wide variety of programs, now i do wish they offered a few more modern type programs, and wish that the federal funding would cover more programs, or better yet all programs. This way you could study whatever you liked, and for students like myself who have limited income, could truly become whatever it is that they wanted to become.
Tips for prospective students Make sure that you are organized, take lots of notes, and most of all make friends. All these things will help benefit you and make your time at Rappahannock a successful time.
In three sentences Rappahannock is a great college, it greatest value is it is convenient to attend. The staff is very supportive, and the college itself is very bright and user friendly.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus has posts throughout the parking lot and around campus with emergency alert systems on them in case something were to happen and someone needs help. These posts have a button on them that can be pressed to activate responders. There are also security men in vehicles monitoring/patrolling the parking lot as the evening begins to draw upon dusk. Also, cameras are placed in strategic locations so no actions go unnoticed.
Greek Life There are no fraternities or sororities here.
Clubs and Activities As stated above, RCC is regularly setting up tournaments and cook outs for the students. They are a great way to get out and socialize between classes.
Great for these types of students RCC is great for the student who isn't sure about jumping right into large classes. The usually small class sizes allows the student to get a more personal education from the teacher. You aren't just a number and the teachers actually remember your name.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There's a huge orchard out in the back pasture are of the school. While I'm in some evening courses I'll break my concentration and look outside to see a large herd of deer grazing in the orchard. It is quite a relaxing moment when taking a stressful evening class. I enjoy that.
Bang for the buck The financial aspect of attending RCC was the main reason I decided to enroll here. I am getting the same education I would receive at a much larger and more expensive college for substantially less. I know this is so because I've compared completed tests with my friends from different colleges who are in similar courses and my material is just as difficult as theirs. Also, the financial aid office is very helpful and I actually made money a few times because I received more than I could spend. That to me is truly a bang for my buck. RCC is by far a wonderful school for those who may need financial help for their first two years of college.
What to do for fun RCC has numerous events throughout the semester for the students to become involved in. There are billiard tournaments, video game tournaments, ping pong tournaments, cookouts, mechanical bull riding at certain events, and numerous other fun activities for the students to get together and release stress. By the way, I've never been asked for any money while at one of these events which is hard to come by these days.
Food and Dining There's no cafeteria to speak of because of the school being a small, community college. However, there is a student lounge where you can purchase burgers, subs, and drinks as well as snacks. The burgers and subs may require heating which is why RCC has conveniently installed a microwave near the food dispensing machine. If I remember correctly, the prices aren't expensive by any means.
Dorm Life I live at home so I can't answer this question, but I do know the school's baseball team mostly lives in a nearby apartment complex and I've never heard any complaints about them.
Academic Rigor RCC isn't very difficult the first semester or two but after that, the courses become more of a challenge. I wouldn't deem them as being overwhelming but they definitely pushed me to find an inner urge to want to learn knew material, and from this I feel better prepared to transfer to a larger four year school.
Tips for prospective students I would certainly recommend becoming involved in a tutoring lab if you're having trouble with a course. I became an active member of the chemistry tutoring lab over the past two semesters and with the help of Mr. Crook, I significantly improved my grade and overall confidence.
In three sentences RCC is a very clean, well kept facility. The advisors are knowledgeable and have helped me get into Virginia Tech to major in Wildlife Science. The school, including professors, deans, and administrative staff, all encourage students to achieve their highest potential and everyone I've met is usually very helpful or at least attempts to help in their best ability.
