Around Town

Going out on the weekend is fun, however not necessary for a fulfilling college experience. Staying in and watching a movie with a bunch of friends every once in a while is extremely satisfying in my opinion. Getting lunch at Tino's or the Yellow Deli on a Saturday afternoon is fun.

You can go downtown and hangout with your friends! There are hiking trails by Hartwick called Table Rock and Strawberry Fields which overlook an amazing view of the landscape and mountains. The Hunt Union on campus is awesome to hangout in with the video game lair and Starbucks! Oneonta is a wonderful college town with a lot to do.

It's a small town, so it is really hard to find things to do. The campus does promote events held on campus such as comedy nights, trivia games, performances, and other activities. However, you have to keep an eye out for these things because you might miss them. Oh yeah the majority of students do go out to party on the weekends.

There's a lot of things to do for fun. Oneonta's SAAC always has fun event planned, like movies on the weekend, bowling trips, ice skating trips, comedy acts, concerts, etc. The night life is full of energy. There are all different kinds of bars for all different types of people. You'll always be able to find something to do during your free time.

There are a ton of clubs, a college camp, a full strip of shops on mainstreet, tons of trails in the woods, and perfect hills for longboarding!

I usually go downtown with my friends and have pizza or go to the bars and play pool.

There's so much to do for fun on campus! There are so many clubs and activities. Sports, there's video game room on campus as well.

There is not a lot of places to go in town, but a little creativity goes a long way. Ive gone roller blading, played video games on campus, they have a free movie night. There have been some big concerts on campus. Every year there is OH-fest.

There are so many clubs that are offered here at Oneonta. I'm already a part of 4 clubs! It's easy to get involved. There's also Greek Life if you're interested in joining a fraternity or sorority. The school offers buses that can take you into town where you can grab something to eat. If you're looking to go shopping, there's also a bus that takes you to the mall, Walgreens, Walmart, the movie theater, and many more places. Even at the school, there are weekly movie screenings and even concerts. Last week we had rapper Childish Gambino and in October The Gym Class Heroes are coming!

There are movies shown on campus, and once a month there is a dorm activity in a different dorm. These need to be better publicized and better attended! Lots of kids go downtown with fake IDs and bar hop, but that doesn't appeal to me. There are many fraternity parties as well. The town has great restaurants and there's a mall nearby.
