  • Feb-16-2014 I am researching this school and have visited the campus

There's multiple clubs and events on campus. The school has provided various hangout locations for students all over campus and the dorm buildings are wonderful, especially with the newest one being built only a few years ago! And if you don't want to be on campus, Philadelphia is a short train ride away.

Go to the basketball games as often as possible and show your school spirit, your family might even see you on TV.

While there are always activities, games, concerts, discussions and club meetings on campus, Saint Joe's proximity to Center City Philadelphia always provides exciting things to do year round. The $5 train ticket to Center City connects you to museums, galleries, restaurants, historic sites, great shopping, major sporting events, concerts and so much more. From cheesesteaks to the Liberty Bell to an Eagles game, there's something in Philly for everyone. St. Joe's does a great job of connecting its students to these opportunities for a great price, so you'll never be bored on Hawk Hill.

There are many things on campus to do for fun. There are always announcements about activities on campus on the weekends such as karaoke night or costume night. There are also traveling programs just for freshman such as the Appalachia trip for freshmen where selected freshmen out of a group of those that apply get to go out together and enjoy being together and having fun in the mountains. There is also the service learning program which is both academic and fun filled. This program places volunteering in tandem with study, in other words if you are a bio major you will have volunteering opportunities related to studying biology first hand. There are also many cultural clubs and sports that one could take part in. The campus is also great enough just to lay on the grass at night a look up at the stars with a friend.

Philadelphia is at your feet as a student at SJU. Popular bands and festivals drop by the city almost weekly to perform. Art is everywhere in older (and safer) parts of the city as well. The culture in center city is fantastic, and the food follows suit. Make the most of the city while at SJU. Also, Manayunk is AWESOME and always worth the cab ride for parties.

Saint Joe's is located right outside Center City Philadelphia. Two train stops from campus and you are in the heart of Philadelphia. Along with the city being very close and accessible there are always sporting events or club events occurring around campus.
