Categories Comments Great for these types of students You can even meet people of your culture or people from upper state who can tell you a lot from what they have learned or from what you have learned and you can connect from there. You also can get a job on campus if you really need one.
Tips for prospective students Here at Saint Leo you will meet with great teachers and if you need help with anything you will get it. You have a learning center that you can go to for experience tutors to help you do better in classes you are struggling in. You would get a great college experience from Saint Leo as well.
Am learning a lot I can get a lot out from what I learned from each and everyone of my classes that I have taken.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students that believe in integrity, respect, discipline, and hard work. Students that believe nothing comes easy. Students that have the willingness to strive and a desire to learn.
Tips for prospective students St. Leo is a promising University. However, if you are not taking your education seriously, then St. Leo is not for you. You will have to do the work, and they make it clear that St. Leo doesn't make earning your degree easy.
Will enjoy being here Anyone that is willing to work hard, will love it here at St. Leo. St. Leo is not a school whether online or on campus, that encourages procrastination and laziness. It functions to provide you with the best possible education that you need, if you work hard and want it.
Will learn a lot I started the orientation that St. Leo offers for upcoming students, and just from the orientation I have learned so much about myself. In addition, I have discovered truly what a degree should mean and the statement I can make once I achieve it.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who want to learn, don't mind working hard in order to get the job they would like to pursue, having responsibility, good time-management skills in order to balance life, attending all classes, getting good grades.
Tips for prospective students I would have to say that tips for prospective students from my personal experiences at Saint Leo is to get involved as soon as possible. This way you meet people and start to network with important people for the future!
Bang for the buck It is pricy to go to school here, but it is totally worth it in the end. I am majoring in Elementary Education and the advisors in Education are wonderful! I have heard such great things about the graduate program that I get to look forward to. Getting an amazing education will benefit everyone in the end no matter what the cost is. You can't put a cost on education.
Am enjoying being here There's always something going on at Saint Leo. Get involved in school, go greek, or just make new friends walking around the beautiful campus! I enjoy being at Saint Leo and the people around me everyday. Everyone is so nice and down to earth. People are always there to help no matter what.
Am learning a lot Classes are very small and is in your best interest because you learn SO much more. The professors know you by name and not by just a number like bigger colleges. I learn something new in every class that I take.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Saint Leo has a focused ROTC program, so any students interested in the military would be a great asset. The business program is ever expanding; we just got a new building on our campus, with marbled floors and modern architecture, donated by an alumni. Students interested in Psychology will find professors always eager to teach their subjects and teach them well; also opportunities to do your own research. The English department is creative, and students interested in this department will learn how to analyze, and correctly write in the MLA format.
Tips for prospective students Always find an upperclassman in your major. We pay money to become smart - we are always looking for someone to mentor and share our information! If you need help, don't be afraid to ask someone, especially a professor. The professors here know you by name; it's a very personable atmosphere.
Bang for the buck The tuition includes a laptop, which is the most important tool I've ever needed as a college student!
Am enjoying being here The campus is beautiful and ever-expanding. With a view of Lake Jovita, a grassy field in the middle of campus, and a courtyard dedicated to the men and women servicing our country, this campus has personality. Walking around I always see people with a smile on their face and I can't help but smile back!
Am learning a lot I am a Professional Writing major with a minor in Psychology. I have always enjoyed writing, and the English department is phenomenal. I not only have learning how to write professionally, but creatively as well. I became inspired with writing through poetry, and because of the fantastic faculty on campus, I now know how to write short stories, prose, creative non-fiction, and plays. I've stepped out of my comfort zone and I couldn't be happier!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who want small class sizes and value a quality education.
Tips for prospective students Keep your grades up. Never fall behind in your classes because the work will pile up. Join clubs ASAP.
Bang for the buck The tuition is somewhat expensive, but it is worth it for the opportunities that the school offers its students. Many internships are offered. The education you will receive here is priceless.
Am enjoying being here The campus is small and secluded, so if you want to leave campus you will need a car. However, there is almost always an activity, such as sporting events, mini carnivals, barbecues, bingo etc., happening on campus that students are welcome to participate in. There are a few fraternities and sororities on campus. Clubs and organizations are not scarce. On top of that, I love the people that I'm meeting here.
Am learning a lot The class sizes are small so it's easy to ask questions and receive a good detailed answer. Most of the professors are excellent at their jobs and care about your success. I am in the honors program and, although the classes that I'm taking do not relate to my major, I'm learning and improving skills that I use in my other classes.

The professors are easy to work with and help you as much as they can. The discussions online with fellow classmates are interesting and intelligent! I love going here!

Bang for the buck Yes, it is expensive but the flexibility is great!

Tips for prospective students Check this school out. It is an amazing school and you'll love the person you become here.
Bang for the buck Though the tuition is quite high, you also have to remember it is a private university. The amount that you get in return out-weighs the price!
Am enjoying being here With the Campus Activities Board (CAB), there is so much to do on campus, along with a lot of different clubs and organizations to be apart of!
Am learning a lot With the small class sizes and the amazing Advisers and Professors; I am glad to be attending this University.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I would rate this above 5 stars, as every person there is there for an education. Teachers and students are all like-minded, and if campus security is an issue, then students and teachers alike will assist security in a resolution.
Greek Life Many organizations are available to pledge, including the National Honors Society as well as many Greek houses on campus.
Clubs and Activities Saint Leo offers a wide range of activities.
Great for these types of students Saint Leo is perfect for working adults who wish to return to school after a long break. It also caters heavily to the military professional, as most of my peers are service men and women. The knowledge you gain from them can never be learned in any book.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Core values are also exemplified by philanthropy, and for my birthday Saint Leo made a donation to the organization of my choice. I chose the Elephant Sanctuary of Tennessee!
Bang for the buck As far as the cost of being able to do my schoolwork after I get home from work; the cost is more than fair! There is a certain dynamic involved in communicating online with peers from around the world. Learning real-world applications from other cultures really has no monetary value, it is just one of the many extra hidden bonuses at Saint Leo. Teachers are all professionals, and are more than qualified, they are the best of the best.
What to do for fun Study, volunteer, and plan for the future! Saint Leo has many clubs students can participate in, as well as youth ministry and opportunities to participate in outside volunteer and community programs.
Food and Dining Students have access to multiple dining opportunities while on campus, I am sure they all make their own decisions and form their own opinions!
Dorm Life I have never heard a bad dorm story, therefore, I rate it a 5 star experience.
Academic Rigor Living in Idaho and attending a University in Florida was not a hard choice. The website offers links to every part of campus life, and students enrolled in the online classes are still invited to seminars, organizations, and are both involved as well as excited to participate! I have always felt part of the student community, and have made many new friends!
Tips for prospective students The best thing to do is be yourself and never be afraid to ask a question. Instructors are fair, and every single person at the school is concerned for and genuinely cares about your success.
In three sentences Saint Leo University exemplifies core values and emphasizes integrity, community, and spirit. Instructors are real-world professionals and peers are like-minded adult professionals, all with a desire to contribute to the learning process. I am honored to be studying at such a professional university.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus Safety in Saint Leo University is good. they have a security 24 hours 7 days a week. you can call them at any time if there is a problem or you can get a ride from campus to the dorm when is late at night.
Greek Life there is a Greek Life in Saint Leo University. I cannot talk about it because i am not involved and have no knowledge on what they do.
Clubs and Activities There is a lot of activities and Clubs through out campus. people need to get involve so they can stay busy and not get bored in college.
Great for these types of students People need to get involve in clubs and sororities.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is not unusual traditions or location on campus
Bang for the buck there is not much help when it come to money at Saint Leo University.
What to do for fun The school do lots of trips to different places like Disney World, Sea World, Movies, Bush Garden. Students in Saint Leo have a lot of opportunities to have fun through the school year.
Food and Dining The dinning at Saint Leo University is OK. they have different kinds of food like salads, veggie section, Chinese food, french fries pizza and more.
Dorm Life When students move to the dorm they will meet people from around the world. they will learn personal development. when they meet different people they will start to respect, excellence, and especially they will learn how to build a community.
Academic Rigor I have no opinion.
Tips for prospective students If students are struggling in a subject, they should get help from their teacher. This can be accomplish bu going to their office hours. if this does not work they should find tutoring by their peers and if this does not work they should start to join a study group so they can get help from the student in the same class.
In three sentences Teacher in Saint Leo University will help student reach their dreams. Students with all the help that saint Leo provides the students will be successful in life.

Greek Life I attend online.
Clubs and Activities I attend online.

Bang for the buck The course at Saint Leo are low cost per credit hour. If you are military, veteran or military spouse there are discounts per credit hour I get.

Food and Dining I eat at home, because I attend school online.
Dorm Life I attend school online, therefore I live in my apartment.
Academic Rigor The courses are challenging and I have the confidence to apply the knowledge learned in my own businesses and/or the work place.
Tips for prospective students Keep close communications with academic adviser. If attending online courses. Also, keep professor informed of any issues that could hinder your progress in the courses.
In three sentences Low cost credit hours. I rate them as being very professional and caring towards students. Coursework prepares students for work places and as business owners.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is an entire staff of security officers who work with the sheriff to provide safety. There are emergency buttons every few hundred feet on campus. As well as security patrolling at all hours.
Greek Life There are multiple Greek frats and sororities, however there are no Greek houses on campus
Clubs and Activities There are numerous clubs on campus, all of which sponsor activities for the entire campus to take part in.
Great for these types of students Perfect for students who like smaller student to teacher ratios.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The bowl it is a large field where anything from Zorbing, laser tag, or carnivals takes place at.
Bang for the buck The smaller classes is beneficial for some people. It can be a little expensive, but well worth the education you will receive.
What to do for fun The school has weekly free events to do and offers trips for 5 dollars to various theme parks.
Food and Dining It is a buffet style cafeteria, where you can get what ever you want.
Dorm Life It is a small school so in dorms you will get to know everyone in your dorm
Academic Rigor Due to smaller class sizes it is easier to go through material at a reasonable speed, and be able to fully grasp all of what is being taught.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to apply for plenty of scholarships to assist in finaid
In three sentences Saint Leo University is perfect for someone who does not like large class room settings. It provides personal learning with teachers. It is always easy to get a hold of your teacher due to the small class setting.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is always there for you. When you need a ride to a specific building late at night they come and pick you up. They are also very helpful when you are in need of medical attention, they rush right over and assist you in any way they can.
Greek Life Greek life on campus isn't like many colleges. They do not have housing for fraternities nor sororities because it's a private catholic college. The Greek life does do a great job hosting events on campus and making campus life entertaining.
Clubs and Activities Clubs and Activities is a main part of campus life. They hold different events daily. Our campus is never dull or lacking something to do. The clubs hold activities daily for us to do and entertain everyone with.
What to do for fun On campus we have a huge lake, where you are able to go on boats and go kayaking. Within the lake our lovely friend Chocolate resides. She is over 7 feet tall alligator that everyone knows about.
Food and Dining The food is exceptionally amazing. There is a wide variety of food to eat. Everyday it's a surprise as to what is being served. Breakfast is most people's favorite part of Saint Leo's Food and Dinning. Our Ice cream bar is amazing as well.
Dorm Life Dorm life is very nice depending where you live. Of course nothing is going to be like home. Most dorms consists of two beds, two desks, two closets, and a sharing sink. Other dorms may allow you to have your own room
Academic Rigor Academically this school is decent. The class that you take 75% of them do not transfer. If you choose to transfer take classes that can help you in the long run, rather than taking class the University requires first.
Tips for prospective students I think If you choose to come to College at Saint Leo, you should come with an open mind. This university has courses that will not transfer if you choose to leave. The financial part changes a lot while your here.
In three sentences I believe Saint Leo University is a very well rounded University. The scenery is beautiful, they are always remodeling the campus. This school has transformed a lot since it was first made.

Greek Life there are four sororities and six fraternities on campus.
Clubs and Activities student government, greek life, students against irresponsible decisions (s.a.i.d.) campus activities board. they all have the students very involved in the campus.
What to do for fun the university takes the students to places off the campus like amusement parks, theaters, the mall, ball games and even to paint ball.
Food and Dining the food on the campus is alright. i think it could be better though.
Dorm Life commuter

Categories Comments Campus Safety During the two years I have been at Saint Leo, the only crimes on campus have been drug dealing and under age drinking. The only thing campus security has to do is check for parking permits and make sure the drunk teens don't need medical attention.
Greek Life Greek Life, while one of the best opportunities the school has to offer, is still far worse than anywhere else you could imagine. The first problem is that there is no Greek housing... I always thought that was one of the biggest perks of Greek life. The standards for Greek organizations, like most of Saint Leo standards, are far below par.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs, but few are meaningful.
Great for these types of students Saint Leo is great for studens with horrible SAT scores whose parents have a lot of money to waste on a school named after a Saint, giving it the illusion of being a reputable establishment.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus As Saint Leo is a catholic university, there are nuns and monks on campus. They are fairly interesting, but remain mostly unseen.
Bang for the buck Tuition at Saint Leo is over $18,000 a year for a lousy education and hardly any entertainment opportunities.
What to do for fun There is nothing to do at this school. Literally nothing. The dorm I live in has televisions and a pool table with one broken pool stick. There are more fun opportunities for people interested in athletics, but I am not one of those people.
Food and Dining The provided on campus is not bad at first, but eventually it is sickening. The cafeteria is buffet style, but it is usually tasteless and boring.
Dorm Life Livng in the dorms at Saint Leo can be an exciting opportunity if you know the right people and do enough drugs. The only things to do on campus are watch teleivision, smoke marijuana, and drink a lot af alcohol. Sadly, there aren't even many homework assignments that could pass the time.
Academic Rigor I have been attending this school for almost two years and I have had approximately five assignments that required more that thirty minutes to complete. There are some teachers who teach actual college courses, as opposed to silly and worthless high school classes, but they are few and far between
Tips for prospective students Find another school that doesn't base its admissions on the amount of money you're willing to waste on a worthless education.
In three sentences Saint Leo University has provided the most fun I have ever had in my life, but, unfortunately, it failed in providing me with any sort of education. I met some of the most amazing, yet stupid and uneducated, people I have ever met and I had many wonderful experiences with them, however I learned next to nothing. This is not a school; it is a four year long party.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is amazing! Our school is super safe, and campus security is very friendly and if of need a ride at any time from your dorm to the library or anywhere they are happy to do it!
Greek Life We have 4 sororities and 6 fraternities.
What to do for fun There's a lot of things going on campus, we have CAB which is an organization that plans trips to Disney, universal, bush gardens, sea world, etc.. For only $5!!! That's a huge plus! And trips to the movies for FREE!! Favorite word as a college student. There's always something going on around campus. Grab a friend and go on an adventure around the city of Dade city! Small but beautiful!
Food and Dining The cafeteria has like 10 different food bars and you get to choose from a large variety. Also we have the lions lair which is like a convenient store and they have like starbucks, like a small surpermarket.
Dorm Life I loved my freshmen year I met amazing people who have impacted my life tremendously. The walk to Snyder is amazing especially one of those days when you wake up and be alone.
Academic Rigor Classes are amazing and they have no more than 30 people in a classroom which is amazing because you get to have that 101 with your professor. They love for students to ask questions!
Tips for prospective students Ask for help when if you're lost, people won't look at you weird. And the library that will be your best friend especially during exams, love that place!
In three sentences Saint Leo University is an amazing college to attend, you feel like you're right at home because everyone is very friendly. From 1 to 10 I would give Saint Leo a 10, the campus is beautiful, and faculty is ready to help you at any time. You will love the person you will become here.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students The program, if it is setup, is great for students having to work on weekdays and can not go to school. Those students who want to get through school a little faster it is great for that, but be prepared to mostly teach yourself.
Bang for the buck There are some good teacher that are interest in what they teach and want to give out the information, then others not as passionate. I had one teacher that assign the class to read the chapters then come to class and that is what they did in class to us. I only felt one teacher out of five give me a bang for my buck.
What to do for fun I go on the weekend I do not have much information about what goes on at the campus. If there is something going on, I am most likely heading to class.
Academic Rigor It is hard to tell because I had one teacher who was strict, but that was because they were stressing out about the time and what they had to get through. Others teachers have just brush it off of if we do not get to it then that is to bad.
Tips for prospective students I would stay away from the Weekend and Evening Program. I thought when I was first coming into this program that it has been in the school for many years, but it only been running for about three to four years. Every time I was looking at my schedule I found that they did not have the course I needed and this is due to the lack of teachers available.
In three sentences Saint Leo University Weekend and Evening Program is unorganized and feel like it still under development. The program does not have or enough experience teachers teaching the class. Some are good at time management under the short time, but others stress out on the short time and do not properly present the information.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Very safe.
Clubs and Activities Lots.
Great for these types of students If you want to be a part of your community in college, this is the place for you. There is a spot for everyone.
Bang for the buck I think the education is superior, the dedication from the professors to helping students and explaining concepts clearly is first rate.
What to do for fun Saint Leo is a little isolated so there isn't much off campus to go and do. But the university makes a lot of effort to provide events for students. Even trips to Disney World, Busch Gardens and Sea World. Current movies are often played on campus.
Food and Dining Compared to most dining facilities that I have ever been around, the food is good. There are healthy choices, but there is the not so healthy too, if you want to go that direction.
Academic Rigor Be prepared to work. Expectations are high and standards are high. The community supports each other but everyone is expected to work for their grades.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to work hard. Embrace the core values of Saint Leo and you will go far. Participate in your community, in any and all ways that you can.
In three sentences Saint Leo is an excellent small university. The English Department provides truly excellent professors who are working in the field, are published and provide not only superior education in English as a field of study but also provide a great insight into opportunities within the field.

Categories Comments What to do for fun My focus is on schooling and I can party when I'm making the type of money I'm looking to make upon graduation. However, the University Campus for SLU is in Saint Leo, FL really laid back and quiet. If you're looking to really party, you will have to drive to Tampa.
Food and Dining I do not live on campus therefore I can't comment of the food and dining.
Dorm Life I do not live on campus so I can't comment on Dorm Life.
Academic Rigor There are no bird courses at SLU. In every class you are guaranteed to learn something new. Sometimes the work can become overwhelming, but that's where your properly implemented time management skills and tutoring come into play.
Tips for prospective students Make sure that any school you are attending offers the degree program you want, don't just settle. Though, Saint Leo University didn't offer the AA program that I desired, they do offer the Bachelors in Social Work and even the MSW which I plan to obtain all at SLU.
In three sentences Saint Leo University is a wonderful school. When you attend SLU you feel like you are a part of a respected community, weather you attend traditional campus or attend the Center for Online Learning. Like all schools, you have great professors and then you have the professors who like to attack everything you do but can never properly answer a question when something is brought to their attention. The course load is not a walk in the park, if you are looking for bird courses you will not find them at SLU. The cost of attendance is pretty high but so far I am receiving an education that is worth every penny.

Categories Comments Greek Life Large variety of Greek academic organizations present, however, there are only two traditionally historical fraternities for African Americans.
Clubs and Activities Check out this link: http://www.saintleo.edu/Campus-Life/Student-Services-Division/Campus-Life-Offices
Great for these types of students Saint Leo University is great for students that are serious about obtaining their first or next degree.
Bang for the buck Instructors are professionals in their areas of concentration. Class sizes are usually small (18 students on average) so personalized attention is given in every class. Saint Leo offers a multitude of learning options to fit the needs of most students. This flexibility allows students to complete degrees while still having other obligations. In addition to a traditional campus of study, Saint Leo offers a Weekend and Evening Program, as well as Online and Distance Learning.
What to do for fun Savannah is a city full of history, culture and activity. There is a lot to do in this area (pub crawls, museums, carriage, haunting or walking tours, parks, planned squares, River Street, Market Walk, Tybee Island, Fort Pulaski). I spend my time dancing, playing computer games, listening to live music and reading.
Food and Dining Savannah has a wide variety of food establishments.
Dorm Life Saint Leo University's main campus is located near Tampa, FL and offers campuses in California and throughout the South (Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia). I am currently taking classes on-line. However, there is a campus locally here in Savannah, GA that is accessible.
Academic Rigor The courses are challenging and thought provoking. The curriculum is relevant, informative, and current. Saint Leo's academic pace is quick. Classes are completed in 8-week semesters. This is not the place for anyone who is not focused or determined.
Tips for prospective students Come prepared to work hard and feel rewarded with success. Time management is a necessity especially if you have other obligations like parenting or full-time work. Use your resources-academic advisor, financial liaison, professors, mentors are all available to support your successful attainment of your degree.
In three sentences Saint Leo University is a institute of higher learning for students who work full-time or have personal responsibilities to reach academic and professional goals. The class sizes are small which allow for more personal interaction between students and professors. The culture of Saint Leo is based on six core values: Excellence, Community, Respect, Personal Development, Integrity and Responsible Stewardship.

Food and Dining I'm a pretty good cook so I'd say it was excellent (online student).
Dorm Life Studied online.
Academic Rigor What I saw of the classes, they were challenging.
Tips for prospective students Run! There are a lot of better schools out there.
In three sentences After the first week and a half I was unable to login to classes. I tried ten times every day and still could not get logged in, but they STILL collected $1,500 of my financial aid!

Clubs and Activities Greek life (not many)
Great for these types of students Students who didn't do so well either in grades or SAT & ACT during high school and you want to focus and get good grades to transfer to better school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Being that this a catholic based school, there are monks walking around which is cool but creepy.
Bang for the buck Its expensive and i plan to transfer after the fall or spring into a public university. Hopefully FSU or USF.
What to do for fun Saint leo is in the middle of trees and there not much to do if you don't have a car to get around, this is from visiting the school.
Food and Dining I have tried the food, it was good from what i ate.
Dorm Life Dorms rooms are typical sized. Pretty tight. Houses from 2 to 3 people in a room.
Tips for prospective students If you want to focus like me and just worry about academics at least for your first year , attend saint leo. But of not please choose another school, I'LL BE TRANSFERRING.

Categories Comments What to do for fun The college has many activities and clubs to join. They college also sits on a large lake which the students have access to in order to canoe or kayak. There is also a community pool, basketball courts, and other activities for students to use.
Food and Dining The food and dining hall is wonderful. There are many choices each day and they even have specials throughout the month promoting ethinic and diverse foods. They also cater to those who keep track of their carbohydrate and calorie intakes. It's a great dining experience.
Dorm Life I do not know how the dorm life is since I am a commuter.
Academic Rigor The college is very focused on helping students achieve academically. The staff is extremely helpful and will assit you in any way necessary to help you feel comfortable at the university.
Tips for prospective students Get all your paperwork together and to the right people before classes begin instead of waiting till the last minute. Embrass the school and the courses that you choose and caution yourself for the fast past environment. Enjoy your time but do not get to far behind in your course work or you will be struggling to get back up.
In three sentences I rate Saint Leo University at an 8. This college is great in classroom size, a beautiful campus to walk through, and has an amazingly helpful and friendly staff to help with all questions and concerns. I am happy to be going to this incredible college.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students I am an on-line/distance learning student. St. Leo is very well equipped for those students that enjoy doing most of their coursework on computer.
Bang for the buck St. Leo University just reduced the cost of tuition and is actually competitive with the area state universities.
Academic Rigor I believe that St. Leo University keeps the student's academic workload manageable but not too easy. The courses are challenging but not impossible.
Tips for prospective students A prospective student should apply and register as soon as possible and not put off meeting with an adviser to register for classes. This is a private institution, so search extra hard for scholarships.
In three sentences St. Leo is an excellent university. The adviser's and instructors are always friendly and helpful. There is a good balance of book learning and student to student/Student to teacher interaction.

Greek Life Greek life has a low rating on my list. It wasn't for me, and I don't recommend it.
Clubs and Activities Dade City is in the middle of no- where. But every weekend get you and your friends together and head down to Tampa which is 30 minutes away to enjoy the night life.
Bang for the buck The only down side of Saint Leo is the price. I feel as though they do charge more than what they should and that you don't get as much for your money.
What to do for fun Sporting events, go down on the dock by the lake, the pool is ALWAYS open with loud music in the speakers, Lions Lair when you're hungry, walk down to your friends room in another dorm, and there's always something doing on in Dade City!
Food and Dining We have so many options all day long. You'll never go hungry!
Dorm Life Dorm life is nothing but awesome. You have great living spaces, awesome RA's who you can be long life friends with and everything is walking distance.
Academic Rigor I believe I'm receiving the best education here at Saint Leo.
Tips for prospective students If you are looking for a college with professors that work well with you, Saint Leo University is where you should look. It's nice to know that all of my professors know me by name and know my grade when I simply ask. The campus is beautiful on the lake of Jovita.

Academic Rigor The teachers are super awesome. They try to help you and get you involved with things and they have a mutual respect for student as people.
Tips for prospective students Try a little bit of everything because you never know what you're going to like or even what you're good at until you try. And always check out the bookstore because they always have sales and new books coming in. The lair, well the lair has the best food in town!

Categories Comments What to do for fun Well, here at Saint Leo there is always something to do for fun. We make many trips throughout the semester to practically everything and everywhere in Florida for only five dollars. For example, one of the trips that we made for five dollars was to the season opener Tampa Rays game.
Food and Dining The food is great here, I think I have gained a couple of pounds since I've been here, but I cannot help myself the food is just so good. They make a variety of things everyday for all the students making it a pleasant and delightful place to eat all of your meals.
Dorm Life The dorms are great. Everyone gets along pretty well in the dorm halls here at Saint Leo making the dorm life as peaceful as you can ever imagine.
Academic Rigor The academic level is very high in the university. Many professors spend hours of their own time to help the students at anything as much as they can. I have never seen so many teachers or really professors offer their help and actually help so many students as i have seen here at Saint Leo.
Tips for prospective students Well, one tip that I can give you is to not be shy at all because everyone here is or may be as dorky or geeky as you, yet the nicest and coolest. Another tip can be to not be afraid of doing you own thing, here in Saint Leo is very enforced.

In three sentences Saint Leo caused me to be a little upset with their process. Instead of preparing me for the funds I had received, Saint Leo caused me to drop from school because I had run out of funds for the undergraduate program. They could have given me a fair warning instead they told me at the last of my 2nd year at Saint Leo. I felt that that was so very unfair.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Security is always around and the areas are well lit.
Greek Life There is no Greek life.
Clubs and Activities Besides the honor society, there are no activities offered at the Saint Leo: Lake City center.
Great for these types of students Students who prefer small class sizes and who are committed to their education will enjoy attending Saint Leo.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are no tradition or locations that are unusual.
Bang for the buck The elementary education program does have its perks. When you graduate, you will have your reading endorsement and your ESOL endorsement. This is a great accomplishment and you hardly notice the extra work you put in to earn these titles. However, this is considered a private college so tuition is pricey.
What to do for fun There are many great restaurants at the Lake City center. Our class often goes out for dinner and drinks together.
Tips for prospective students Prospective students should be wary of the financial aid department. They are almost impossible to get a hold of. If you was a smooth ride financially it is best to keep on them from the start.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus security is open 24/7 and if there is any issue they promptly are on the scene to handle it.
Clubs and Activities There are activities offered for students on a weekly basis and they are all really enjoyable. There are a variety of clubs and if there isn't one you like you could always start one of your own.
Bang for the buck Saint Leo is a school where they will help you find the money to come here if you really want to and use all of your resources.
What to do for fun Swimming and rock climbing are just two of the many cool things to do on campus. The school offers many different things to do off campus during the week. There is always a special event going on for students to attend while here.
Food and Dining The all you can eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner is amazing. I love the cafe there is always a large variety of food to choose from.
Dorm Life The dorms are well dorms. They are much better here then at all of the other schools I visited to be honest. The only problem would be you have to take showers at a certain time of the day to get a hot one in the girls dorm. The rooms are good in size and the RAs are really nice and helpful.
Academic Rigor The academics here at Saint Leo are amazing. The teachers help you when you don't understand something and it is an enjoyment to be in a class and learn everything. Every single teacher here at Saint Leo is fun to learn from and all the classes are interesting.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to do your all your finical aid things early because Saint Leo will give money just for filling paper work out early. Visit the classrooms and get to know the teachers and staff because they will help you out if you need it.
In three sentences Saint Leo is a school where community is a big thing and I like that. A lot of the teachers actually care about the students individually. I would recommend Saint Leo to high school juniors and seniors.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Very nice people.
Greek Life Very small variety of Greek Life, but it is very present on campus.
Clubs and Activities I helped found Coed Fraternity here at Leo and we have a lot of events. It's nice to also go to many theme parks and movie theaters for only $5.
Great for these types of students This is a great school for kids with a good family income and that want to get a degree with minimal amount of work (unless you're a science Major).
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have a grotto, and the campus is absolutely gorgeous. The lawn care staff is top class.
Bang for the buck The amount of trouble I had to go through in order to pay for this school is not worth the trouble.
What to do for fun Be with friends.
Food and Dining Food is very nice for the first couple weeks at Leo, but then you realize how unhealthy and poorly prepared it is after a while of eating it.
Dorm Life The Freshman dorms are not that good, but the school just opened up new buildings for upperclass men and they are very nice to live in.
Academic Rigor Depends highly on course. I'm a Biology Major, which is considered the most difficult of Majors in this school, and the coursework will keep you busy (if you aim to get A+).
Tips for prospective students ALways do your work as soon as possible. Have a schedule you know you will follow and adhere too.
In three sentences Good school for Biology and Business Majors. Very beautiful campus. Very bad financial services for students that are not incoming freshmen.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is always right around the corner thanks to Saint Leo's seemingly infinite amount of cameras. Almost everywhere you look, a camera stares back at you including inside certain elevators. If there is any crime to commit, the act will be caught and the criminal penalized.
Greek Life There are many sororities on campus including tri beta, a biological organization in which students collaborate to share their knowledge on biological topics. Admission price and rules differ between clubs as well as the main topic of intrest, but in the end, it can be well worth the time. Many friends can be made and knowledge obtained not to mention the fun and special benefits offered by some Greek organizations such as scholarships, free parties, and other social events.
Clubs and Activities There are a seemingly infinite amount of clubs and organizations on campus, each of which have their own unique specialties and activities. Students are allowed to begin new clubs rather easily and can create more than one. Many of the clubs have fees however, some do not. These are great opportunities to have fun with others and complete community service on planned days.
Great for these types of students Anyone interested in pursuing a career in business, biology, or law would most likely favor Saint Leo over other universities.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Saint Leo has a birthday celebration in the cafeteria once a month.
Bang for the buck Being a private school, the cost to attend is higher than that of many other colleges though when considered, the services offered are phenomenal concidering how many resources are available to students on a constant basis.
What to do for fun There is a game room located at the base of a new appartment complex built beside the dorms. Included in the room are a variety of arcade games and others such as fooseball, pool, and air hockey. All are free and open 24/7 for student use. A gymnasium is directly across the street from the game room and offers just about any work out imaginable. From hammering giant tires to yoga classes and treadmills, there is never a lack of activity. In addition to these benefits, the campus almost constantly offers extreme discounts to adventure parks and other attractions around Florida. Most of the time tickets are $5 and can allow students to enter attractions such as Bush Gardens HowlOscream and the movies at no additional cost. Practice rooms are also offered for musicians to jam on guitars, pianis, and drums located in the music building.
Food and Dining If you can picture a 4 star resturant with open buffet and only an $8 enterance fee, you can easily picture the cafeteria at Saint Leo University. Students can choose from a variety of healthy foods including sugar free pastries, salads, and even oriental food cooked on a large flat grill. Ice cream, jello, and even slurpies are offered in addition to the previous. The list goes on for main courses as every day, something new is served. It's all you can eat after all.
Dorm Life While I do not live in a dorm, I have seen the internal structure of the dormatories and had the luxury of staying in a few temporarily. Each room comes equipped with a bed with matress, desk, and storeage closet. The majority of rooms are split between two and four students and are therefore, equipped with a large counter inluding a sink and mini fridge for every two students in the room. It is the responsibility of the student to decide who uses certain storage areas.
Academic Rigor Academics are the main focus at Saint Leo University and though they do have many diverse fields to study, each one is governed by an experienced professor, uaually at the doctoral level. As a result, course work is heavy and can be challenging at some times however, in the end many students can look back and be proud of their hard earned accomplishments.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you are ready for a heavy work load. Studying some of the basic topics related to your major and or classes could also assist in giving an advantage with preparation.
In three sentences Saint Leo University offers superb academics as well as experienced staff. People on campus are always friendly and willing to give a helping hand to those in need. I would highly recommend this college to other students seeking a well deserved degree in a subject they love.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Military members, veterans and their dependents.
Bang for the buck I'm a divorcee', active duty member raising my children on my own and I really need as much help as I can get to pay for school. The military pays for only so much, and it's relly hard when you do it all alone. Hopefully there is something out there to help me out.
Food and Dining There are only centers in my area, no main campus for dining.
Dorm Life There are only centers in my area, no main campus to reside in dorms.
Academic Rigor Instructors will not let you fail. They will help you in all ways humanly possible. They want you to succeed in this society.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to check out the ranges of schedules. 9 times out of 10, you will be accommodated. Various locations are a plus!

Categories Comments Campus Safety They have one of the best safety ratings in Florida. Its so small and they have golf carts so they can help anywhere.
Greek Life there is Greek Life and its a lot of fun and they do a lot of good for the community. I highly recommend it. (i'm planning on rushing)
Clubs and Activities they have clubs for everything and if not its easy to make your own.
Bang for the buck The school is expensive. It honestly is, that's why half the class is leaving. but they hold a lot of events for you.
What to do for fun Tampa: clubs, activities movies on campus drinking bingo night on campus they hold a lot of free vents and trips to movies and such. ( I recently went to celebration station for free.)
Food and Dining The dining hall is good, better than USF dining hall. The food is changing a lot. There is a salad bar, sandwich station and a wok station. and the best cookies :) the downside is there are no close restaurants only the lions lair. which is campus run and a little expensive.
Dorm Life The rooms are bigger than most of the schools I visited. There okay, the newer ones are nicer. If you are a freshman, there are two options 1) Henderson/ Beniot which is on campus and nice enough except there small, dark and I have heard stories of bugs. 2) Marimon/ Synder which is on campus but a 15 minute walk from the 'hill' (its safe) you pass the church and its a little long. I live here and its not as bad as it sounds. just have headphones or friends. the downside is the hill is steep. The good thing is the rooms are bigger than most, its clean(ish) for a college dorm and everyone knows each other. Because you are stuck far from campus together you meet everyone and everyone becomes friends quicker. (it also creates gossip though)
Academic Rigor Its a average, if not a little less than average school (academic wise). If you did good in high school you will be fine here. Its a lot of papers and most of the classes follow the same guidelines. come to class, pay half-attention (for most people) and do the work and you will be fine. The best part is that the teachers know you because its so small, Its high school size class. If something is going on they are understanding.
Tips for prospective students You need a car (or a friend with a car). If you live in Marmion/ Synder be prepared to walk. Get involved with the school there are a lot of parties and drinking on campus but if you get busted your screwed. make sure you take classes seriously
In three sentences A great, small, close knit community school. In the country with wonderful views and okay weather. The downside? In the middle of no-where, the closest fun place is 40 minutes. (Tampa)

Academic Rigor It is not hard if you study, do your work, and go to class. You get out what you put in.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you come to Saint Leo with a positive attitude. The people are so wonderfully nice and you will soon find yourself among the elite group of students.
In three sentences Saint Leo University is a loving community of people-students, faculty, and staff. The strength of Saint Leo's community's depends on the unity and diversity of our people, on the free exchange of ideas, and on learning, living and working harmoniously.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I can't think of any.
Bang for the buck Play Foosball or Madden in the Lion's Den. Hit the gym. Take in a choral performance. Cheer on the Lions on the lacrosse field. Sign up for that $5 trip to Busch Gardens. Squeeze in a tutoring session before your accounting exam. There are never enough hours in the day.
What to do for fun Every day of the week, you'll find something going on at Saint Leo. The student-run Campus Activities Board plans programs both on and off campus, including formals, lectures, stand-up comedy, concerts, professional sporting events, and much more. Most events are free or just $5.
Food and Dining The food is good. There are plenty of choices to eat from, and it's in a buffet style. You can eat as much as you want. If you have an unlimited meal plan then you can eat as many times during the day.
Dorm Life The dorm life is beautiful. There are plenty of dorms that are single rooms, so you get your own space , but the common room you can share with your friends and family when they come to visit.
Academic Rigor The class are hard, but as long as you pay attention and do the work you will be okay. The teacher explain the material thoroughly so you can understand what you need to know.
Tips for prospective students Some tips I give would be to utilize your resources on campus. There are plenty of students, teachers, and other resources that can help you if you need it.

Greek Life Greek life is a major part of the community. There are several local organizations and national ones as well. If this is something that a student is interested in, they definitely can find it here.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs, I could not list them all. However, there is something for everyone and new organizations are always forming. From cheer leading to honor societies, there is never a dull moment.
Great for these types of students It is great for students who are a bit nervous that they are going off for the first time. The campus is small and rated the safest in Florida. All of the students are friendly and willing to help each other.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus My favorite thing to do on campus is to kayak on Lake Jovita on the waterfront part of campus.

Categories Comments Campus Safety This is a very safe campus. They have a tight security team. You will always see them out and about. The security officers are friendly and will always say hello to you.
Greek Life Greek life is big at Saint Leo. Every day you will see Greek letters shown off by the students wearing them. The students are very proud of the Greek life they are a part of. I am not in Greek life, but I do have friends who are and they love it. They said they have made sisters for life.
Clubs and Activities They offer many clubs and activities for students to join. The school is big on inter mural sports. Flyers are always posted around school for the students to see.
Great for these types of students This school is great for all types of students. The school offers many areas of interest.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus This campus is a catholic school. We participate in religion courses, observe the catholic holidays. We also hold mass every week for students and staff who would like to attend. The school is also built next to a beautiful lake, where students can enjoy activities such as fishing, or can take a canoe out.
Bang for the buck This school is beautiful, fun, safe, and the academics are wonderful. I chose Saint Leo because of their Elementary Education Program. It is one of the best in the state of Florida. I also really love how small the class sizes are.It was just a plus that it was so close to home.
What to do for fun The school has many trips to Disney world, Busch Gardens, Universal Studios, the mall, football, baseball and hockey games lined up all the time for students. They post flyers around campus and also email the students about the opportunities. The school also hosts other activities at the school for students to participate in such as activities on the lake, at the pool, in the campus board rooms etc.
Food and Dining Saint Leo offers a great dining experience. The campus includes a dining hall for on campus residents, a lions lair( convenient store-deli), and across the street at the golf course is a grille and bar restaurant. There are also a few restaurant and sub shops with in walking distance from the campus. Grocery stores and other restaurants are only about a 15 or 20 minute drive from the campus as well.
Dorm Life I lived as a commuter student, I did not have the college dorm experience. Saint Leo takes pride in their student housing, they want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The freshmen dorms from what I heard are not as luxurious as the upper class mans. I believe they want you to earn the bells and whistles. Other than dorms the campus also offers apartments, they are a little pricey, but they are beautiful. They just finished building another set of buildings and this set includes a fish tank that will be featured on an episode of Tanked this spring, it also includes a game room and nap pods in the lobby of the apartment. Dorm life can help to build life long friendships.
Academic Rigor Academics are held high at Saint Leo. They want you to succeed. They will push you hard, but will always lend a helping hand if you need it. If you do not want to be placed on academic probation, I suggest studying hard and keep up with your assignments. Hint: study/work during the week, and save play time for the weekend.
Tips for prospective students My tips for prospective students would be to make friends and have fun while in college, however keep up with your academics. Meet with your advisor, get to know them, they are there to help you, at Saint Leo the advisers work very hard to meet all of your needs.
In three sentences Saint Leo is a beautiful campus. The many programs they offer are outstanding and the professors are awesome. The small class size is great for one on one interaction with the professor and fellow classmates, you can't find this in many other universities.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Safety is very high. There are cameras all over and always a person on duty to call.
Greek Life Our Greek life is very different than big schools or schools not in the south. I'm personally involved in it and I love it. Greek life is a big deal on campus and gets you involved. Many people are Greek.
Clubs and Activities There are so many groups to join and get involved with on campus. There's no way you won't something between service, special interest, cultural, academic, and Honor Society groups.
Great for these types of students people who like warm FL weather and a small, close learning community. For people not into football, since there is no team.
Bang for the buck There are a lot of activities put on for students that are free and lots of Leo gear/other stuff is given away to students at these events.
What to do for fun I joined a sorority and participate in clubs. We also have a campus activities board, as well as a First Year Experience Office and Student Government Union that plan events and activities like movie trips, dances, and amusement park trips. Plus, I work out at the gym and pool. There's also intramural sports and a gorgeous lake right on campus with a dock.
Food and Dining Food is okay. There is a lot of variety. Hot food line, pizza and pasta bar, salad bar, soup station, sandwich/wrap line, Asian station, omelet station, vegetarian station, fast food station, desert line, ice cream machines, drink machines (including juice, coffee, and slushies).
Dorm Life This depends on the dorm. There are really only 3 dorms. Most of the other housing is apartment style. I like my dorm. It's a double. However, the roommate, the floor, and the RA really make the experience. There are always ladies on the floor cleaning, especially the bathrooms. It's definitely different than you're own room though so it takes getting used to. It's a lot smaller, plus communal showers and doing your own laundry.
Academic Rigor So far classes have been work, but not too difficult. It depends on class. Freshman prerequisites tend to be easier, while classes specific to the major or honors classes should be more difficult.
Tips for prospective students Definitely visit before you make the decision. Either people love Leo or hate it. It's located in the country, like 15-20 minutes from stores and fast food. That's an issue for some people.
In three sentences I love the school. So many opportunities are available because of the small size and close connection with advisors and professors.
