Tips for prospective students Be prepared to work hard and make your college work a high priority!
Bang for the buck It is a competitive school as far as pricing goes. In most cases it is a lot cheaper than other online universities.
Am enjoying being here The school is very cooperative
Am learning a lot Since the semester is only 4 weeks long it is very difficult to work this into a schedule.The program is very flexible!!

Tips for prospective students You should definitely consider coming here because it works around your own time and its very affordable.
Bang for the buck It is definitely an affordable school for anyone.
Am enjoying being here This is an all around amazing school because it is very flexible with your own schedule.
Am learning a lot I find it very easy to attend this school because of the curriculum being only four weeks long for each class.

Categories Comments What to do for fun At Salem we sometimes have game night in the Tiger Den. That's when certain people come and have different games to play with us sometimes we can win money. We also have BINGO in the cafeteria during lunch every 2 weeks. You can win a lot of dorming supplies. We also have trips to the mall for fun. In October we always have trips to go to haunted houses. I have experieced that and I had a blast going to them.
Food and Dining Honestly, the food at Salem isn't that good. A Lot of the students here usually eat pizza, Chinese, or Roman Noodles. Sometimes Salem will have their days when the lunch is amazing but usually for dinner most students aren't satisfied.
Dorm Life The dorm life wonderful. Salem has changed within the past year. We now have vending machines in our lobbies. Instead of going to seven eleven everyday to get quarters, we were provided with change machines in our laundry room. Salem has improved in the past years and is still improving the dorm life is very fun. On special days like the super bowl, the school buys pizza for everyone and we all spend time watching the game in the lobby. The lobby is a decent size and many of us go down their to watch movies or play games on the Wii.
Academic Rigor Your academic's are very important expecially if you play a sport. In order to continue with that certain sport you need a GPA of 2.0. Even if you don't play a sport you should still continue to get good grades. The one class a month method is very helpful and I understand the material very well. There professors and tutor's come in handy as well and they are willing to help you as long as you respect their instructions and tips on the work you're doing.
Tips for prospective students If you want to go out on the weekend or just go out to eat at a resturant, I reccomend that you bring you're car to Salem. If you don't have a car an alternative is the bus, taxi, or even a friend. There are many things to do on campus in the Tiger's Den which makes everyone come together as a family and have fun. They have many flat screen TVs which are hooked up to game systems of all sorts. If you want a late night snack there is always the 24-hour seven eleven.
In three sentences Honestly, Salem is a wonderful place to be. You meet a lot of very friendly professors and friends. There are a lot of international students that go here and getting to know them can be very interesting because they all have different cultures.

Great for these types of students if your looking for a smaller university with a great staff and good friends to be made, this is the place for you.
What to do for fun just hang out with friend, go into clarkburge to go to movies or hang out at the mall.
Food and Dining the staff in the dining have do a great job and a good job of changing the menu
Dorm Life room are kind of small but after a few weeks you don't notice it anymore.
Academic Rigor the courses are challenging but the teachers are great.
Tips for prospective students if you are not from a cold weather area, bring warm clothing. it does rain quite a bite during nov - jan time fram so bring rain gear also.
In three sentences overall i love the school. it is small and feels more like a family than a campus.

Clubs and Activities sports program here is great
Great for these types of students if you want to finish your degree early, this university offers a fast track.
What to do for fun hang out in the tv room, go to the lions den and shot pool. go into town and see a movie
Food and Dining love the food in the dining hall, and subway and dairy queen are about a 3 min walk if i want something different.
Dorm Life dorm rooms are kind of small, but because this is a small university, everyone on our floor all know each other and we have a really good time around the dorm..
Academic Rigor if you are not prepared to study, don't come here. the courses are difficult, you will have to put forth effort to maintain good grades
Tips for prospective students bring rain gear and be prepared to study had.

Categories Comments Dorm Life I personally did not enjoy staying in the dorms. I do not like being that close to people and I couldn't afford my own room.
In three sentences Salem International University is a great place for students looking for a small town to go to college. The teachers are great and go out of their way to help each student succeed. Overall, Salem International University is an amazing place to get an education.

Bang for the buck No significant crime in years except a few burglaries,had a problem in 2008 with NCAA because of violations but has been on the right track every since.
What to do for fun Shopping,music,park and some mingling with friends.
Food and Dining the food wasn't the best.
Dorm Life The dorms are ok.
Academic Rigor No one should be failing any classes,it's one class a month.
Tips for prospective students You need to really get involved and learn all you can as a new student,participate as much as possible.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Salem is a very small town. In order for you to have fun you have to leave the campus and go somewhere else. The campus is about sports, that's all there is to do.
Food and Dining They serve the same food, for every meal except for breakfast. Chicken is the main dish here at SIU. The food always seems undercooked or overcooked.
Dorm Life These dorms don't even have a sprinkler system. The heating barely works and we don't have air-conditioning. We practically have to beg to get out restrooms cleaned.
Academic Rigor Salem is a one class per month school. Most people view this as being an easy way out. I view it as an easy way to get a mediocre education which is what is here.
Tips for prospective students I cannot tell you what to do but I can only help these students take this warning, do not come to SIU. We have gone almost two weeks without soap once. Not to mention that the staff decides to take off whenever they please without a moments notice.
In three sentences My opinion will of course be biased die to the fact that I happen to go here. Salem International University is a horrible school. The facilities are awful as well as the education.

Bang for the buck Very worth the money. I feel that I am getting exactly what I am paying for.
What to do for fun Mingle with other students, compare work, and enjoy the college life. SIU also holds many events that help with funding for the school, which they also travel and give away free items for class and helpful graduation tips.
Food and Dining They really could use me as their cooker :-)
Dorm Life I do not live on campus, but I hear the dorms are amazing and very roomy.
Academic Rigor Excellent
Tips for prospective students Arrive to class on time. Always stay organized and focused. Submit your work in a timely manner. Study, Study, Study!!!
In three sentences Salem International University has one of the best curriculum studies that I know. The instructor's are there for you when you need them and are very helpful. The instructional study videos really help students before taking any tests.
