Salem State University is average in some ways and above average in others. The people here are very friendly and accepting. The professors for the most part are very helpful, teach well, and are very understanding.

Salem State University was an excellent choice for me for school. It is close to home and I have met a lot of awesome people and lifelong friends with both students and faculty. There are a lot of majors to choose from so don't worry if you can't decide yet.

Salem State was originally designed to be more commuter friendly and is now picking up its pace and growing for those who are residential. It is highly focused on it's student body. The campus is also very diverse and welcoming.

There is a new library and gym under construction. The food is college food, mostly fried and starchy; if you eat here, you will gain weight. The school is mostly known for the nursing and criminal justice programs, all other programs here don't offer as much opportunities as other schools.

I believe SSU is a very open campus. It is very diverse compared to my last school. It also has many more options on things you can do to succeed.
