Start your plan to transfer early. You don't need an IGETC or degree to transfer. Take what the counselors say with a grain of salt. It's better to directly call the school you're interested instead. Live close to campus if you're a serious student. Live in IV if you like to party. Live in Goleta if you're broke. Having a car will make your life a lot easier, especially if you live far from campus. Learn Swedish :)

My advice to prospective students who are really focusing on school and trying to transfer is to live close to school or in the downtown area. If you are going to have fun and party live in Isla Vista (near UCSB).
