Categories Comments Great for these types of students Santa Fe College is great for any student!
Tips for prospective students I would take college success in my first semester, and find out about all the scholarship opportunities as soon as I was accepted.
Bang for the buck It is not that expensive and not a private school so Bright Futures pays 100% tuition, and the teachers always try to choose the cheapest text books for the students.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy attending this school because the teachers are nice, enthusiastic about his/her job, and I feel safe with the SFC police station on campus.
Am learning a lot The classes are only 20-35 students so each person has a good chance to get extra help if needed.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Santa Fe College is great for students that don't want to spend four or nine years going to school. There are many degrees you can get within two years, degrees that can guarantee you a job in the future.
Tips for prospective students I am currently working at the Financial Aid office here,so the biggest advice I can give you is to keep up with your Financial Aid and scholarships make sure everything is set. Another thing is to have a good attitude, people are more willing to help you if you are kind to them.
Bang for the buck Although it is not a University, there are programs here where you can earn a Bachelor's degree, and of course it's much cheaper. There is a food bank that gives food out every Wed. there is also a vegetable garden where they provide the products for you all you have to do is take care of your garden. Every so often there are events where they have free food and all you have to do is fill out a small survey. So there are MANY opportunites where you can save on food.
Am enjoying being here I love the atmosphere here. There are many clubs that you can join. People are very nice, there are places that have couches and I've seen many people sleeping and no one bothers them, I've even sat on one of the couches and slept before my class starts. It's great!! If you're not one of those people that enjoys sleeping, then there is a game lounge where you can go and hang out with your friends in between classes.
Am learning a lot We have labs available for Math, English and Writing. There are also tutors for just about every subject you need help in. All my teachers give me my work ahead of time so that if I have any questions about anything I can speak to them personally and they can help me out.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This is a fantastic college for any student wanting to transfer to the University of Florida under a medical degree. Santa Fe offers a four year degree as well as transfer degrees to UF.
Tips for prospective students If you're planning on attending Santa Fe, make sure you speak with the advisers on the courses you should take, especially if you're planning on transferring to an university.
Bang for the buck The classes are cheaper than most colleges, and it allows you to get through the grueling generic classes with ease. Since they've switched to a regular college, the prices have risen slightly, but not so much that you'll need to penny pinch for awhile.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy it here because the class sizes are such that one-on-one help can always be found.
Am learning a lot The professors here are really nice and know how to keep their students interested in their subject! Most students get really good grades because the professors are so energetic and willing to teach.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This School is great for those who are not ready for the universities or other 4 year colleges.
Tips for prospective students You have to stay on track, don't let the college life get to you. Make sure you study before going anywhere with your friends. Try to make study group, that way you can get information on something you didn't know and the others can get something that they didn't know.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Very safe. I had a night class I had to take and security was always on campus. And they had the call posts which you only have to press a button and the security cart will come and investigate or escort you to wherever you need to go
Clubs and Activities They have every club imaginable. And if they don't have a club you like, make one. People are always willing to try new things.
Great for these types of students Any type, really. It's a chill place
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Santa Fe always has something going on, food, music, free tshirts- you name it. Always stay updated on the ESanta Fe website
Bang for the buck Cheaper. I'm planning to transfer to UF in three years and I've already saved so much money. I'm transferring for my bachelors in Zoology but I'm doing a dual enrollement of sorts because I'm still going to be in Santa Fe working on my AS in technical zoology at the zoo. Im going to be saving so much money!
What to do for fun Downtown is where all the fun is at. The closer to UF the better. My girlfriends and I have stumbled on little nook restaurants and ice cream shoppes and there's this apple bees that I offers karaoke nights on thrusdays and it's packed to the brim with college students and it's just a fun atmosphere
Food and Dining Gainesville is a small town but there's something to eat at just about every corner. Just hop on the bus, which is free with a Santa Fe ID and go out to the oaks mall or even archer rd.
Dorm Life There are no dorms at Santa Fe but I thought to answer anyways. I live in an apartment close to the college, just a bus ride away and I love it. I have roommates and I did a roommate matching.
Academic Rigor Santa Fe is what a community college should be. There is no babying or anything like that. You learn very quickly that you no longer in highs school.
Tips for prospective students Be open to making new friends. Not that it's hard at Santa Fe. Everyone is very friendly and you meet so many people by just standing at the Bookstore line and striking a conversation and the classes are small so it's easy to get to know everyone in the class
In three sentences I absolutely love Santa Fe. It's such a small college with a big college attitude. Everyone is very friendly and always open to lend a hand. It's a great place to start as a freshman

Categories Comments Campus Safety They have their own police force here at santa 24 hours a day.
Greek Life Many of the clubs on campus also merge with UF so lots of Greek stuff to participate in.
Clubs and Activities So many. Circle K. Student Government. French club.
Great for these types of students studious, money savers, on a budget, and independent. If you're one of those than you'll make it at santa Fe.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I am part of Circle K. It's like Key club from Middle school. I like hanging with those guys around campus but the most unusual place i have to say is the big Zoo because it not every school that has a Zoo with so many animals
Bang for the buck Being independent and doing everything for myself, it is a struggle everyday to stay motivated but Santa Fe has great tutors and a big open lab with good tutors. The library is also full of resources for those term papers. ALSO... Santa is like a mini UF. Most profs are from UF and being at Santa Fe gives you a greater advantage of getting transfered into UF.
What to do for fun I work part time but i like to also go to the movies and go to church.
Food and Dining Great places around gainesville to eat out and hang with friends. The mall is like 5 minutes away.
Dorm Life I live two minutes of walking distance from campus in my own apartment with very nice roomates. No dorm.
Academic Rigor Each course is a challenge and must do the work to pass as with anything in life.
Tips for prospective students Bring your A game. No class is really easy.
In three sentences Courses are challenging, Most teachers are very good with helping students achieve a higher lever of education. Campus is close to many housings and stores and different places.

Categories Comments Campus Safety If you want to feel safe, come to Santa Fe College, we got our own Police station right in the parking lot, you can see police cars going all around the college every minute.
Greek Life there are no fraternities in the college, but this college is the gateway to UF, where you can find a real vivid fraternity life.
Clubs and Activities you can join all type of clubs, we also have all kinds of sports and activities that go around them.
Great for these types of students It is great only for one type of students, the ones who want to succeed, you get all the right tools to be whatever you want to be in life.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I believe the most unusual thing is the zoo. I think is great I can tell all of my friends that I am studying in a place where we got our own zoo.
Bang for the buck As I told you, Santa Fe is everything you expect to be, this also includes the monetary part. I am sure every one in the college is happy and in peace because of what they pay and what they gain because of that.
What to do for fun Santa Fe provides their students with a gym, a pool, a play room, but I think that the coolest thing is that we have our own zoo, who can say they have a zoo at their school?
Food and Dining The Cafeteria haves any kind of food you want, we got salads, pizza, rise bowls, sandwiches. if you want to eat healthy you can, if you are not a healthy eating person then you can find junk food to.
Dorm Life Santa Fe do not have dorms, but they are surrounded by a lot of living places such as 'the crossing at santa fe' this gives you the great advantage of living right across the street of your college
Academic Rigor Teachers want to get the best of you, but at the same time they are comprehensive about situations you can not handle.
Tips for prospective students The best tip I can give to them is not be shy, be outgoing, you are going to find a lot of great people and a lot of opportunities if you look for them
In three sentences Santa Fe is just what you expect college to be. It is fun, classes are entertaining and people are interesting.

Categories Comments Campus Safety i'm rating this a 1, because it has significantly declined over the years. my freshman year (2009), i felt very safe and secure. slowly, it seems that the police department on campus is more interested in parking issues than major issues. there have been kidnappings, rapes, and multiple robberies on campus. keep your belongings close to you, and always travel in groups if you want to be safe. seriously, it's bad.
Greek Life there is no greek life on campus. you have to wait until you go to a university for this.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the oak grove almost always has something going on. check by that area at least once a day to get free food or give blood. carpool! if you carpool, you can get a carpool decal each semester and never worry about parking again. parking on campus sucks. definitely carpool with someone. you will be so thankful.
Bang for the buck the instructors rock, and the prices are lower than many other colleges in the area.
What to do for fun get involved in clubs. otherwise, there isn't much to do besides study or go to nightclubs. gainesville is a party city, so if you aren't into that, definitely get involved on campus for activities.
Food and Dining santa fe has 3 food court options: subway, dominoes, and some latin place. subway is great, i'm not a huge dominoes fan, but dominoes has a great breakfast. start your day with breakfast in the food court, and you'll feel so much better throughout your classes. the cafe in the library is pricey, but has delicious food and friendly staff.
Dorm Life there are no dorms at santa fe college. you can, however, live in student apartments in the city. be prepared to live with roommates that may be into drugs though. i do not recommend the crossing at santa fe, simply for the amount of drug use in the area. stay on the university side of town for a better experience.
Academic Rigor i feel that the classes can be challenging, but nothing too tough.
Tips for prospective students get involved on campus--it will help you to stay motivated. also, make sure to develop a relationship with your academic and financial aid advisors. this will make each semester so much easier. i wish that i had visited my advisor more often. they are a great resource, and they are there to help you. financial aid advisors are very important, too, because, well, the whole process is a pain. have a relationship with an fa advisor, and you'll be so happy you did.
In three sentences santa fe is a great school. it has small class sizes, great teachers, and strong community involvement. i have very few complaints.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus student government office they are awesome there is always something awesome going on and they know all about it
What to do for fun oh man there is always some type of event going on at santa fe, so many clubs you can participate in. im a freshman and i am already involved in so much. i am a club senator a scholar and an gardener
Food and Dining sf has a food court that includes dominoes la fortuna and subway, not enough options and its packed, the lines are too long and it takes awhile
Dorm Life there are no dorms but there are apartments within walking distance and there is an amazing bus system you ride free with your sf id.
Tips for prospective students always come to class on time, turn in your assignments on time and don't be afraid to ask for help from your professors. helpful for ged freshman's if you have your ged speak with dr angela long about joining the pathways to persistence program, it is an amazing program that gives you a scholarship as well as helping you prepare academic goals and success while in college.
In three sentences santa fe is a small setting with small classrooms. santa fe has an awesome and helpful staff. santa fe has three campuses through out gainesville making it easy to have access to.

Am enjoying being here There is always something going on at the campus. It is a very friendly atmosphere and has its own personality.
Am learning a lot Some of the teachers may not have a teaching strategy that you like, but if you take the time to study and practice all the materials are understandable. Many of the teachers are willing to help you and there are plenty of tutors around.

Am enjoying being here I enjoy being a student at Santa Fe college because of the vibe, many students are from everywhere so it is a multi-cultural setting full of high-energy and fun:)
Am learning a lot Many of the instructors at Santa Fe are very open-minded and fun. A lot of them let you voice how you feel on subjects past and current which makes good discussion in class.

Categories Comments Campus Safety You can register your home number, your cellphone number and email address so you are notified if there is a security problem on campus. I love it.
Greek Life There is none.
Clubs and Activities Student government, Cultural clubs, Art and Music clubs, Zoo, Internation Festivals, and with University of Florida only 5 miles away there is much more for a student to become interested it.
Great for these types of students Any type! Does not matter your hobbies or interests, Santa Fe has it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus They have campuses located in more than 3 surrounding towns. They celebrate all ethnic holidays and much more.
Bang for the buck When it come to cost, especially for a Bachelor's Degree, the cost compared to a University is great. In state it is $330 plus lab fee of $30. This for in state students only. I am not real sure about out of state, but I know it is more.
What to do for fun There is a gym, a baseball team, a student activities building and much more for anyone who is interested in being active in student life.
Food and Dining The food court has three types of food to choose from Latin Cuisine, Domino's Pizza, and Subway. However, the library has a Starbucks and the Book Store has things like sandwiches, yogurt, microwavable lunches, and more.
Dorm Life Santa Fe has no dorms.
Academic Rigor Classes are not easy but with some time management and good study habits it is easy to keep a good grade point average.
Tips for prospective students Do not wait till the last minute. If you want to start your education and you live in the Gainesville area then register today.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There is a recreation room in the S building where you can play games and talk with people. I usually walk around to find people to talk with or attend some events.
Food and Dining The food in college is what I consider expensive. There is a small food court that has only three restaurants. Domino's, La Fortuna, and Subway. The best restaurant I would recommend for new comers is Subway. The food is in manageable prince and the quantity is filling. If you want a cheaper deal, you can walk from campus to Wendy's or McDonald's for 15 minutes walk.
Dorm Life The dorms here are fairly in fair price range. Before getting a place to stay, you would have to get an apartment guide to find the right price. Once you find the right price, you would have to do a tour of that place to see if you feel safe in that place. Once you find that place, you can then move there. First, it will feel really scary because you are new. Then, you will meet new friends and find that they come to college for the same reason as you and you will turn out to have study buddies as well.
Academic Rigor The academic in the college here depends on the professor and the courses you take. If you take a science class, the course is usually difficult but yet manageable. In these classes, the professor matters the most because there is a huge vary in the type of professor there are for these classes. Some of them are so difficult it is hard to pass. Some of them are so easy and getting an A is a joke.
Tips for prospective students If you ever want to come to this college, make sure that you are well planned. This college is what I would call a second chance for those who was not able to enter in the University after high school. This will give you an opportunity to make up your grades, and be able to transfer quickly.
In three sentences I think that the opinion of the college would vary based on the person and experiences each person had. My experience here was not the best. I had lots of issues that took place that affected my grades in this college.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus of the college is not very safety. Everybody can get to the university very easily and nobody will ask for your IDs to be sure that the person that is getting in really study there. I didn't have any bad experiences there yet, but I think that the people who work in the college should do something about it before something bad happen.
What to do for fun In Santa Fe Community College you can do a lot of things. For example, the students have a free gym, they only need to have their ID and they can use it every day for free. An other activities students can do are: plant trees, enjoy Christians conversations, take art classes, etc.
Food and Dining Santa Fe Community College has a big food court. There you can find different types of food. Some restaurants are healthy like Subway and others have typical food of Latin America and American food, too. This Latin restaurant is there because of the large number of people form South America studying in Santa Fe Community College. Also, there is a Starbucks where students can relax and study inside of the library.
Dorm Life I never had a dorm life in college because I studied for one semester in the ELI (English Language Institute) in UF and then I went to Santa Fe Community College. I found a good roommate, she is from Latin America too so we get along very well. I never wanted to change my roommate so I never search information about the dorms in my college. Furthermore, it wasn't mandatory to stay the first year of college in the dorms.
Tips for prospective students I advise the future students to first study in a community college and then go to the university they want to go. Being in a community college has a lot of advantages, for example: if the person just finished high school and is not ready to leave his or her family and house, they can study in a community college that could be close to his or her house for two years. In addition, community colleges are cheaper than the other universities so is a way to save money, too.
In three sentences Santa Fe is a very good college, specially for international students. When you are an international student and English is not your first language, being in a community college is the best option. The classes are smaller than in the big universities in the United States, so it helps a lot to understand what the teacher is explaining in the class. Also, Santa Fe has a good level of education and that's why I'm so happy studying there.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have several locations throughout Gainesville and its surrounding areas to supported its students means and their need for education. Their are not any unusual traditions to my knowledge, however, for the wide body of students we are very united.
Bang for the buck Great education of the cost of classes and extras that are on campus! In addition the classes are rather small giving students an advantage to learn and compete
What to do for fun On campus I'm doing activities to support student government or participating in club events. This allows me to reach out to more students and fulfill more needs around campus. At home I tend to build clocks or engines.
Food and Dining The dining hall is somewhat small, though, the variety of food applys to all students and is full most of the day.
Dorm Life None
Academic Rigor The teachers and coursework are excellent. Very challenging work, yet its interesting and fun!
Tips for prospective students The three big things I would recommend are: meet with a student advisor ever so often (especially when signing up for classes), join either student government or a student club, and understand the goal your pursuing to gain all the help you can.
In three sentences Santa Fe College is a unique school filled with diversity, a need for higher education, and involvement. From my experiences on campus I have found guidance, acceptance, and knowledge. With my two years of attending this college I'm happy with the choice I made.

Clubs and Activities You name it its here.
Great for these types of students First time, career change, first time of any age.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus SFC has many satellite facilities throughout the City, County and surrounding Counties making the availability of attending easier.
Bang for the buck SFC college sends more students to the University of Florida. Smaller classes provide more one on one with professors. Ease of commute is notable with public transit service available from 6 am to 10 pm.
What to do for fun SFC features a state of the art student recreation center with all sorts of activities, lounge and computer lab on campus.
Food and Dining There are close by eateries. There is a subway and pizza parlor onsite.
Dorm Life Doesn't apply here.
Academic Rigor SFC is a serious college. Academic rigor traditionally is dictated by mostly the Professor followed by the content of the actual course. Therefore its subjective when rating on a scale such as this.

Bang for the buck There is a lot of bang for your buck the teachers are all very good and the price of the school will definitely help people save money on there first two years of school.
What to do for fun There is a great rec room on campus with pool tables, ping pong, video games, cable tv, and card games.
Food and Dining The food court located on campus has good food and a decent selection. There are also good dining options that are about a 10 minute walk away.
Dorm Life There is are no dorms on campus.
Academic Rigor Most of the classes on campus try to go beyond the basics and teach in a very thorough manner to cover all bases on the subject that is being taught.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to check where your classes are located so that you don't leave your self with 5 minutes to walk across the campus.
In three sentences I really enjoy the class sizes at Santa Fe because if you need a questioned answered they can respond. I also like the courteous staff and teachers that help you out with any problems. Finally the campus rec room is great place to meet people and pass time between classes.

Categories Comments Campus Safety About once a year there is a fight or a robbery. In the past few, there has been one kidnapping. Fortunately there are vigilant Santa Fe Police who actively patrol. At every major intersection of pedestrian traffic, there is an emergency beckon, a button that may be pressed to signal the authorities. There is an excellent alert system that sends out notifications when a crime has taken place. For this reason, transparency of what violent crime occurs is excellent.
Greek Life Phi Kappa Theta is the only greek group at Santa Fe. There is little Greek Life.
Clubs and Activities There is a diverse spread of clubs and activities to choose from. Notably is the environmentalist organization Saints for Sustainability which not only has excellent attendance but also partners with the Suwannee -- St. Johns chapter of the Sierra Club.
Great for these types of students It is perfect for anyone looking for a high-quality nursing program, anyone looking into emergency medical services, and anyone who wants to get their toes wet before diving into the full-blown university experience.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The Hare Krishnas have quite a presence on campus. They serve food, and, should you take the right courses, they will be taking classes right along-side you. Enjoy their positive disposition, and broaden your horizons by getting to know these kind and jovial people.
Bang for the buck Your education here is what you make of it. Should you do your research, take challenging courses from passionate professors, and invest yourself in your education, this is likely the best place for you.
What to do for fun Participate in any of the many clubs. There are many active student-run organizations with high-quality leadership that always love to have new participants. Multiple times every month there are events that occur in the common green space at the heart of campus.
Food and Dining For its size, Santa Fe offers a decent variety of foods from vendors such as Subway and Dominos. The Hare Krishnas also vend excellent cuisine at lunch time for a very reasonable price. The lunch area is spacious and located centrally on campus.
Dorm Life The Crossings at Santa Fe is a safe, gated community of other students who are also going to Santa Fe. Keep in mind that Santa Fe is not a party school, and is quite distant from the down-town college life that is more accessible from the University of Florida.
Academic Rigor You have the opportunity to learn from professors who will teach you the material to mastery, or you can coast through with teachers for whom you barely have to show up. It's up to you.
Tips for prospective students 1. Have a plan, even a basic plan, from the get-go. It is absolutely imperative that you have a solid Idea of your education goals as you progress through your education. 2. Thoroughly research your professors. Do not be tempted to take the professors with the easiest rating (such as on Rate My Professor and other websites). Santa Fe can either provide you with a phenomenal education or one that is substandard if measured against a school such as UF. 3. Use your time there to feel out perspective career opportunities. Particularly if you are going into a health or vocational program, you are going to have access to some of the most influential people in your region. Get to know your professors well during the course of your program, and let them point you in the right direction as you exit your program.
In three sentences Santa Fe College provides an excellent opportunity for both students looking for a small environment to kick-start their ascent into the realm of higher education and students looking into careers vocational or health related. Santa Fe College sets the regional standard with their general education courses, many professors from the University of Florida teach part-time at Santa Fe College, and their nursing program. As for nursing, Santa Fe College sets the bar even higher, such that the University of Florida is to phase-out its nursing program directing prospective students to, instead, choose Santa Fe College's as their desired institution.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus is definitely safe. If something ever happens students are contacted immediately and we have our own campus police station. Security isn't a problem and even at night campus is pretty safe.
Greek Life The is no greek life on campus but Phi Theta Kappa is one of the Honor Societies on campus.
Clubs and Activities There are many sports on campus. Clubs are always inviting new people in and have tables around campus set up at least once a week. Overall, the campus has a wide range of clubs and sports.
Great for these types of students Santa Fe is great for ALL types of students. The Honors Program is great for the students that are extremely motivated and professors always encourage students to do good. So even if you're not an outstanding students professors will be there for you to help you.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Since I'm still a freshman I still don't know any of these weird traditions. I'd say that we have a zoo and planetarium on campus. So if you ever get bored then you still can find something to do.
Bang for the buck If you want to safe money this school is for you. The professors are great and the classes are good too. If trying to safe money and transfer to a big university this school is good for you.
What to do for fun The campus is very active. They often provide activities for students to do. Sports and clubs definitely help to keep the campus fun.
Food and Dining The food court is small but it has the basic for the students' needs. At least once a week the campus offers free food which helps the students' pocket. Definitely, can eat almost every for free on campus.
Dorm Life Don't live in the campus housing but all the students that live there have negative comments about the apartment complex. There's many places around town that students can live in and they're nicer. Transportation around town is free for students.
Academic Rigor Classes are small and students are encouraged to be successful in their classes. Teachers are willing to help. The school overall pushes students to be productive and still succeed in their classes.
Tips for prospective students Definitely go there if you're trying to save money and if you're not sure if Gainesville is right for you. Small classes help students get a better grasp of the subjects. You can get involve with many things on campus.
In three sentences Santa Fe is a great school if you're planning on transferring to the University of Florida but don't know what you want to major in yet. Professors are great and classes are small. The variety of classes are nice and for a community college the campus is very active and always has activities going on.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Santa Fe Police Department is prompt, highly responsive, and always patrolling the campus. Due to its educational aspect as well, the program/department is always growing.
Bang for the buck If residing in the city, it might be a good idea to get a bus pass, or a bike. Both save on gas for personal vehicles, and allows for a little sight seeing.
What to do for fun Residents or visitors have the options of Mid-Town, which is home to the famous Swamp restaurant, along with bars and clubs such as Gator City and 101 Cantina. For a more adult evening, downtown is home to several clubs like :08 and Skyy.
Food and Dining On-campus, there is a cafeteria that serves Subway, Pizza Hut, and other food shops. There is also the Krishna group that serves their delicacies around noon on most days. Being such a college town, there are plenty of choices for food. From fast-food places like Burger King and Arby's, to sit down restaurants such as The Olive Garden and B.J's
Dorm Life No dorms for this growing college. However, there are plenty apartments and condos around that contour to the college lifestyle.
Academic Rigor With a smaller class size, the professors are able to develop a more personable relationship with their students.
Tips for prospective students Get to campus early to avoid parking problems. Visit professors in between classes/off-time to get additional help. For a getaway, the third level of the library is quiet enough to hear a pin drop.
In three sentences Santa Fe College is a great gateway for students who are looking at getting into the University of Florida. With smaller classrooms, there is the ability to seek additional help outside of class if needed. Also, being so close to the University, students can go to home games and run around the university's huge campus.

Look for an apartment close to the college and sign a lease with 2,3 or 4 other college students via roommate matching. Complete your FASFA
In three sentences Santa Fe College is greater than I ever anticipated. The teachers and professors are the best in the country, they care about you as an individual and have your best interest first. I got 4 of my hometown friends to attend Santa Fe, there isn't a college that compares in campus, professors, activities, theatre and arts.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Security is a big issue.. We have had some pretty scary encounters on campus. It's best not to travel alone.
Clubs and Activities Tons and tons of clubs. They really hammer you with club options. Students who get involved, succeed!
Great for these types of students Any kind of student really. Hard working and the slackers.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have a zoo. And a planetarium.
Bang for the buck If you are looking for good grades, yes. Textbook store is a RIP off.
What to do for fun College life is really supported by the University of Florida. Lots of stuff to do downtown.
Food and Dining Some good restaurants around town.... Not so much on campus. We have 3 restaurants and a Starbucks. No fine dining unless you really like Subway and Dominos.
Dorm Life No dorms on campus. However there are lots of Student Living apartment complexes in town
Academic Rigor Classes, like I said, are relatively easy. Really small class sizes which I really like. Most of the professors genuinely care about your academic achievement. It's much like high school.
Tips for prospective students Classes are relatively easy. This is my 4th semester at Santa Fe and I can tell you, ATTENDANCE IS NECESSARY. I have taken full-time credits since I started at SFC and I have had maybe 2 professors who did not take an attendance grade.
In three sentences Parking is a mother if you know what I mean. Campus is pretty easy to navigate except the buildings aren't in letter order like you would expect them to be. Some of the professors are awful. I would seriously suggest doing research before picking your professors.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus police is relatively heavy and quick to respond. If anything big happens, a mass text and phone alert is sent to all students. (ie; armed thief on run, wearing black shirt.)
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus For the smokers: You have your own smoking huts, but you are expected to keep your smoke in those locations.
Bang for the buck Tuition is obviously considerably less than a University, but I feel I still receive a good education!
What to do for fun On Campus: Various clubs/groups, dance and musical performances occasionally. Off Campus: Mall, Hippodrome, Movie Theater, etc.
Food and Dining Santa Fe does offer a small food court consisting of Dominos, Subway, and La Fortuna. Picnic tables are arranged all over campus for studying or eating. I prefer eating off campus :) The mall is only 10-15min away.
Dorm Life Santa Fe College does not offer dorms. There are a few nearby apartment complexes (although not the safest from what I hear). It's a short drive from almost anywhere in town though, so just find a location you like!
Academic Rigor This totally varies from teacher to teacher even within a single course! My friend and I took the same course with different teachers, his workload was much more rigorous than mine! Just check ratemyprofessors :)
Tips for prospective students Carpool with a friend; sign up for the carpool lot pass, it's free and insures quick parking! Don't park in any colored lines/designated spots, you WILL be ticketed. Wait to purchase books till after first class, some teachers omit or change books on their own.
In three sentences Santa Fe is known for it's small class sizes, which I LOVE. Math and writing labs are open to all students for free tutoring. Parking is rough, but not bad when compared to a University!

Clubs and Activities Student Government Honor Fraternities
Great for these types of students Want/need a smaller setting to get used to college. If you are directionally challenged. If you need to work your way through school this is a great place to be. Lots of choices in when you can take classes and you don't HAVE to take a certain number.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Eating lunch with the Hare Khrishnas is a must do. On Monday there is a food pantry open-one item per person and there is also a thrift shop on campus.
Bang for the buck The professors really are awesome-if you are considering changing your major or are wondering what to major in they are very reachable. I can walk right in my professors offices just about every single day if I need to.
What to do for fun There are LOTS of free trips offered through the school--humanities trips, wild adventures, etc.
Food and Dining The food on campus has jacked up prices and they don't offer the same prices as they do off campus (no $5 footlongs at Subway and no $1 menu at Wendys, etc). Bring your food or eat off campus. They also shut down the food places early so if you have a late afternoon or night class there is nothing.
Dorm Life There are no dorms--find an apartment. Read the reviews and be very very careful of where you choose. If you can, live at home. It is quieter and cheaper.
Academic Rigor It is a great small campus--the professors are really good. The classes are much smaller but they still expect the best out of you and you can't sit in the back and hide.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you go a few days early if you can to get your ID and Smartcard so you don't have to wait in line. DO NOT get an apartment at the big place just down the road that advertises a lot on campus--it is not safe. Pay attention to the news bulletins--there are lots of free activities, free food, etc on campus.
In three sentences Santa Fe is a great school with lots of staff in place to help you through the registering, paying and book buying experience. The bookstore does online orders so you can just pick up your books-new or used. The counselors really do help with everything. The honors program rocks!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety has recently increased due to a few criminal activities that have happened in the past two years that I have been a student. I always feel safe and have never had any issues, and crime rates are very low in general. Police officers drive around campus, and you can even opt to have an officer accompany you to your vehicle at any time of the day.
What to do for fun There are always many things going on, on campus. From Zumba to free giveaways, it is never boring.
Food and Dining Although there are only three restaurants on campus, they are all very good choices. There is Subway, La Fortuna, and Domino's Pizza. Food service is always pleasant, and prices are fair. The areas are always clean and well-stocked. No complaints.
Academic Rigor Santa Fe College is rigorous and academically challenging but mentally stimulating in a positive way. Being a student at Santa Fe will prepare you for your career in the most challenging/exciting ways possible.
Tips for prospective students Since more students from Santa Fe College transfer to UF than any other college in the state of Florida, Santa Fe College is academically challenging. My tips for prospective students would be to study hard, take advantage of free tutoring/study labs, stay organized, and always do the extra credit offered by professors!
In three sentences Santa Fe College is an exciting, upbeat, and mentally-stimulating environment. Dorm Life There are no dorms available at Santa Fe College.
Academic Rigor Assignments and projects are excellent for learning, but students can get by with bare minimums.
Tips for prospective students Know what's in and what's not, you have to teach yourself taste.
In three sentences Santa Fe's digital media program is very well rounded and excellent in learning how to use the software of the business, but the instructors are not real enough. Categories Comments Campus Safety Police station on campus but a girl still got robbed in broad day in the parking lot and idk if they ever caught the guy.
Clubs and Activities I didn't even join anything because after everything that happened here I just wanted to leave asap.
Great for these types of students Great for people that want a college degree for doing almost nothing at all. The classes are filled with tiny old desks that are big enough for 1 arm and people are like 1 foot away from you.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Your attendence is part of your overall grade. Professors here take it personal if you don't attend class like you are insulting them or something. This place is like a middle school I am still shocked by how different it was when I actually got in the classroom.
Bang for the buck One of the worst decisions I have made in my life. Every semester there was some sort of ridiculous situation involving financial aid that was the fault of a SF employee. None of these people are held accountable or even apologize. It's like they do it on purpose. Once again, you are allowed to use notes on tests I'm pretty sure a 10 year old can graduate from SF. Seriously not worth moving out here to attend this school you will be disappointed.
What to do for fun There isn't much to do in the area you have to go downtown by UF. I wouldn't say there is anything fun around this area unless you like walgreens and burger king and gas stations...and publix.
Food and Dining I only went to the starbucks in the library.
Dorm Life I live in the santa fe area and it's more ghetto than anything.
Academic Rigor I had 1 class that was actually like college. The rest were so easy I felt like I shouldn't even go to school anymore. We were literally allowed to use notes on tests with word for word answers on them. No wonder their graduation rate is so high they literally give you the answers.
Tips for prospective students Go somewhere else.
In three sentences I would not attend this school again unless someone paid me a lot of money. This school does not prepare you for university coursework. No idea how it would be considered a smart choice or how it is ranked as a top 10 school in America this place really hurt my life and put me through a lot of unnecessary situations.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Not really anything unusual on this campus, everything seems pretty normal to me.
Bang for the buck The classes here are much cheaper then UF classes. If you need some prep classes here would be the best place to do do them for cheap.
