Check out the local scene. There are poetry slams, local bands and of course Wine Country. San Francisco is one hour south, the beach is 30 minutes west, Redwoods are 30 minutes north. It's a really cool place.

Santa Rosa is a medium sized urban center, conveniently located in the beautiful wine country of California. State Parks abound, and Sonoma California, recently listed in Forbes Magazine as one of Americas prettiest towns is 30 minutes from Santa Rosa. If your tastes are a little more adventurous, San Francisco and it's night life are just a 45 minute drive down the US 101.

The Santa Rosa Campus has a great track if you are into running. The computer labs are very helpful and up to date. Both Campus' have a mac lab available, and the library is a great place for reading and studying. They also have a museum, and several art exhibits if seeing art is your forte. In Santa Rosa, they also have small farmers markets every two weeks on campus.

I considered the equestrian classes to be a fun class as well as taking the forestry classes that went of field trips to Tahoe to snow shoe and find native California trees, and other State Parks to identify trees and shrubs.

Coddingtown Mall is just a short jaunt away from the campus by bus or car, and the Redwood Empire Ice Arena is just up the street from that.
