You absolutely do not get what you pay for at Shaw. But being that it's an HBCU the culture is rich and the history of the university provides an experience unlike any other. Greek life and all is very interesting and people will always complain about Shaw but at the end of the day the experience is priceless.

Shaw University is what you make it. It is like I said a good HBCU. The teachers come to work and do their best to help student learning. If you came here to learn and succeed in life then this would be a good school for you. Sure it has its cons but thats every school.

Overall, the school sucks. Campus life is cool but when you're back into the dorms it is horrible. If you want to be a success do not attend. Students will not have the same goals as you wether short or long term goals. They are all at competition with dressing, they live off of their refund checks, and it is a bad campus.
