A major flaw at Shawnee is the Housing department. It is hard to get attention and things fixed (same with finical aid, but I'm sure that happens every where not exclusively at Shawnee). Try to make sure you housing is the way you want it BEFORE the semester starts; most changes are on a four to six week delay. Another thing to look at for is the Den. The Bear's Den isn't as bad as most students say it is, but there are days when it is probably better to go out. And although the food is okay, the hours are not. If you have class during dinner, you better have a big lunch. The to-go is convinent enough but a sandwich for dinner may not always cut it.
