Yes, it's a small school, but don't be fooled - winchester is a big area that's close to a lot of things! If you're looking for a big school atmosphere, though, you won't find it here. There's tons to do, just get involved!

Always have a visit to the school - to see how the campus is and decided if this is where you want to attend. Eat and drive around campus - to get a feel of how the school is. Visit on a day while classes are held- so you can see the average size of the classrooms and teacher to student ratio. Also ask students walking around campus what they truly think of Shenandoah. If you already know the major talk with some of the teachers and look at the curriculum and requirements to enter and stay into the program. Also ask any questions you may have. Ask about the clubs for the major and what to do in order to be apart of it. Ask to see a dorm room and varies types of dorm rooms - See the types of the dorm room vs the campus apartments. Then decide if the living conditions are acceptable to your personal standards.

Get involved. Search out new friends. Sitting in your dorm does not help. Plenty of good people are there for you.

Shenandoah students are most likely either in the Conservatory or involved with athletics. If you are interested in any major having to do with the Arts, SU is perfect for you. Our Conservatory program is one of the finest with classes ranging from acting and dace to scenic lighting design. We also have a School of Nursing and a great Physical Therapy program for students! Before choosing a college I was looking for a small school with sports, my major, and a friendly atmosphere. I found out about Shenandoah through my coach and thought it was perfect for me especially after I met a lot of the people involved with the school- they were all friendly and made me feel at home!
