    Campus Safety

We have a full staff for public safety. There is someone there 24/7, 365 days out of the year. They can be reached easily from the dorm rooms and are quick to get across campus. We are staffed with ex-military, criminal justice majors, police officers, and other well-trained employees.

    Greek Life

We have one sorority on campus and one fraternity. Both groups are very active in student life and offer a great experience to build relationships, take part in anthropology projects, and be leaders in the school.

    Clubs and Activities

We have wide variety of clubs and activities for students to partake in from religious affiliate groups and cultural based groups. We also have public service groups that work in the school-based and town community.

Great for these types of students

It is a great institute for all students if you are looking for a smaller university with a great education and amazing opportunities during and after college. The smaller atmosphere allows for students to build connections among each other and teachers. Everyone is very personable and looks out for you and your success.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The SAGE building and Ledwidge ballroom are cool hang out spots for the students to relax after a long day of studies and athletics. The Field house is also open to 10 p.m. allowing students to get into the weight room and gym. A tradition we have is to not step on the school seal located in the ground right outside of the field house. Students also have free admittance to games located at home at our facilities. Go Saints!

    Bang for the buck

Siena offers many scholarship options and the bang is worth the buck.

    What to do for fun

The town of Adrian is very small, but in town we have local restaurants and skate rink. We are close to Adrian College that is always putting on events. Our director of Student Activities always have stuff planned on campus for the students to take part in such as; bowling trips, movie nights, Dj's, comedians. We are also very close to two major cities, Ann Arbor and Toledo (30-40 minutes).

    Food and Dining

We have a full service cafeteria that is open everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff there is friendly and the food is very good. We have options for vegetarians and non-meat eaters. We also have the SAGE student union that offers food and snacks after cafe hours. In 2013 we will be having a new union and cafeteria built for students.

    Dorm Life

Some people do not care for the dorms because they are older, but if you have a great roommate and an awesome R.A. (Resident Assistant) the dorms are a great place to be. There are constantly activities going on for students to partake in and meet new people.

    Academic Rigor

The classes have been challenging but not anything that I couldn't get through. There are many resources in the library, writing center, math cave, and teachers with flexible hours that are always willing to help.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are looking for a small university that is very personable and about you, this is the place. The size is usually a turn-off, but the connections and friendships are worth while. Also teachers take the time to get to know their students, making a better learning environment.

    In three sentences

Siena is a small campus, but a loving atmosphere. The teachers, other students, and staff want nothing but the best for the students attending. It is a great place to build connections that will last a lifetime!

    Campus Safety

There is a public safety and they are always sitting at the front desk and able to see who walks in and out of the dorms and campus village. If you do not look familiar to them then they will ask to see id to make sure you are a student or a friend staying on campus for the night. They go around at night and make sure all the parking lots are safe and that nothing unusual is happening. All the side doors are locked at night and you are only able to get in through the front doors so no strangers can come in at night. They are really friendly with the students and know you by your name, or at least your face. They also have cameras around the building so they can see what is happening.

    Greek Life

There is one fraternity for the boys and everyone involved is really close with each other and hangs out during the day and night. They are friendly people and nice to everyone on campus. There is one for the girls as well and it is not as broadcast-ed as the fraternity.

    Clubs and Activities

We have different clubs for each of the majors and they do activities pertaining to their majors to help out. There is a student senate and they put on the different activities for the students to participate in. There is always an event to attend during the week.

Great for these types of students

If you are one who wants to attend a smaller school this is just for you. Also if you are personable and enjoy spending time with people because you see the same people every day and tend to do things outside of the classroom with each other. Most of the students are athletes or in the acting side of school, so you will probably want to be involved with one of those because you will make plenty of friends right away.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

We have a Mr. Husky tradition where the men on campus compete to see who is the best in their own little competition. It is an event you definitely do not want to miss. Your eyes will be filled with tears from laughter.

    Bang for the buck

The school is a little on the expensive side, but they do a good job of helping students find scholarships to afford school.

    What to do for fun

There are plenty of school activities to attend during the week and generally a free t-shirt or food is available. Many of the students go and have fun bonding with each other. You are almost always able to go see a sporting event. There is a game room if you enjoy ping pong, air hockey, or pool. You are able to go to the field house and work out or play basketball with friends.

    Food and Dining

For the most part the food is good, but sometimes you want to have snacks in your dorm room in case you miss a meal. If you do not like the main meal being served there is always salad, bagels, cereal, soup, pizza, and french fries being offered as well. The drink selection is nice as well because there is a pepsi and coke machine, along with milk, water, and juice.

    Dorm Life

The dorms can be hot on some nights and cold on others. I would suggest bringing a fan and extra blankets. The students who live in the dorms are very nice and friendly. The RA's do a great job of putting events together for their hallways to bond; I would suggest going if you are able to.

    Academic Rigor

The classrooms can be a hard area depending on the courses you are taking, but teachers are willing to help outside of the classroom and you are always able to find someone in your class who will want to study with you. The tests you want to make sure you study for because they are not as easy as high school. Also, do your homework because that is easy points to earn.

    Tips for prospective students

You want to make sure you have plenty of clothes for warm and cold weather because, depending on the day, the classrooms can be either extremely hot or cold. You want to make sure that you do all of your homework ahead of times because more than one assignment will be due on the same day. Also, Make sure that you study for exams, but if you need help their are study groups, and teachers can help you as well.

    In three sentences

Siena Heights is a great school if you are looking for a smaller location and still want to live on campus. The students are extremely involved and school spirited at sporting events and attend each other's games. It is a great community atmosphere and everyone is welcoming and friendly to each other.

    What to do for fun

There is ALWAYS fun at SHU! Whether its a random movie night or an exciting sporting event, there is ALWAYS something to do at Siena. Most students begin missing theses fun activities the first week of summer. You meet tons of people, get TONS of free food and t-shirts, and do many things out of the ordinary.

    Food and Dining

There are two eating spots on campus. One being the main cafeteria, Benincasa, which is your traditional school cafeteria. It does not always have the tastiest and healthiest options, but it definitely gets the job done and students get used to the food after about a month. Sage Union is very conviently located just steps away from the dormatory offered healthier selections and more homemade decisions. Your food is cooked in front of you and the staff is incredible! There is also a wide variety of off campus dining too.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are actually not too bad. You get a lot more room than most big universities. They do get very hot at the beginning of the school year and the end, but it is as simple as buying a nice big fan! There are tons of community building events to create a comfortable atmostphere, and the game room is a great place to meet and hang out!

    Academic Rigor

Academics at Siena Heights are easy if you work hard. You are offered TONS of different types of courses ranging from sign language classes to sport management courses all the way to acting class. It is difficult to pick one specific major, so try everything!

    Tips for prospective students

Always work hard towards goals, because they are achievable. Respect peers and elders, because at Siena, nobody forgets who you are.

    In three sentences

Siena Heights is a beautiful and inspiring campus. The community is incredible here on campus, creating long lasting friendships and relationships. Siena Heights makes me proud to call it my home.

    Clubs and Activities

You can join or create any club you want at Siena. If you want to join just get information from the club president or you can usually just sign up for it. If you want to create, then you have to have at least five people that want to join your club and boom you have a brand new club on campus.

    Bang for the buck

You really don't what you pay for here. 32,000 and they don't even have decent technology.

    What to do for fun

GO OUT! make a lot of friends and go to the movies, go bowling, go to the club. There really isn't that much to do in Adrian, but it makes it even worse when you don't even have someone to be bored with. Go to parties, some will be horrible and some will be the best parties you've ever gone to, Siena isn't a party school, but there's another one right around the corner that is. Also your RA might be having fun events for your hall so keep an eye out for those too.

    Food and Dining

I'll be completely truthful about the food, its horrible, Bennicasa dinning hall has terrible food most of the time. If you always come to a meal late, your guaranteed to not have any good, fresh, hot food. The breakfast is always good, but any meal after, beware.

    Dorm Life

Living in the dorms is ok, but as always there are rules you must abide by but you can get away with most. No one can tell you what time to come back, you are an adult so you are treated as such for the most part. Try not to be too loud, otherwise you'll get a lot of noise complaints that you don't need in your life. Also the dorms get unbearably hot in the winter and unbearably cold in the summer.

    Academic Rigor

This school is great academically, and definitely for you if you want a challenge. The professors are pretty fair, do your work and you will be fine. ALWAYS follow the syllabus, they don't matter in high school but they are crucial in college.

    Tips for prospective students

if you don't want to pay 32,000 a year then it is not for you. If you aren't a student athlete or you can't apply for loans, just save yourself. The financial aid offices in this school will not help you pay once you have 'exhausted' all the aid you can receive. As I stated before if your parents can co-sign for a loan for whatever reason, and you don't have any credit, do not come to this school.

    In three sentences

Overall, this school isn't a horrible place to be. The people are nice, it's very easy to make friends even if you are shy.

    Campus Safety

We have DPS which are the campus patrol and they do a great job of protecting and making sure everyone is safe.

    Greek Life

There isn't much of a Greek life.

    Clubs and Activities

There are a ton of clubs and activities for students who want to get involved.

Great for these types of students

Its great for the type of student who do not mind rigorous school work and not much of a party scene. If you go here you know you value your education.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Its a catholic institution and we have to a lot of stuff surrounding that religion.

    Bang for the buck

Its a really expensive school almost but the education is very worth it.

    What to do for fun

I can go workout and I play football so I am already pretty occupied. I can go hangout with my friends. We either go out to eat or go to a friends dorm and just hangout.

    Food and Dining

The food is not very good, but breakfast would have to be the best meal they offer.

    Dorm Life

There pretty small and its not a big party school so you can focus on your studies.

    Academic Rigor

Its pretty tough for a student going into Nursing but I love it. Our requirements is maintain at least a 3.0 and get all As and Bs in out science courses.

    Tips for prospective students

I would say just take advantage of all the opportunity they offer. The classes wont be easy but the teachers are great so just pay attention, do the work and you will be alright.

    In three sentences

Its small but a great school. The Nursing program is very good. This institute sets its students up for success.

    What to do for fun

Play sports with others. Since 95% of the students there play sports it is easy to interact with others that way.

    Food and Dining

The food is good but will get better with the new opening of the student center in the fall school year of 2013

    Dorm Life

Great, you get a chance to get to know everyone.

    Academic Rigor

Great all around in every program.

    Tips for prospective students

To have a great experience, get involved in as many programs and events as much as possible.

    In three sentences

I would rate Siena 4 out of 5 stars. It is a smaller university and the town of Adrian there isn't much to do. It is a education based environment.

    Campus Safety

Excellent! SHU tip are available through text messages and if there is any situation on campus they are there within two minutes!

    Clubs and Activities

There are so many clubs and activities at Siena. We have so many groups you can join that will make you feel right at home and it is a great way to be involved with campus.

Great for these types of students

Siena is great for everyone! They reach out to all personalities and they make sure that no one is left out. One great thing is if you feel like you are not apart of something you can start your own student organization and let your voice be heard.

    What to do for fun

There's always something to do on campus between sports and the different student organizations you can't go wrong. Off campus there's the movies and going out to eat, plus Adrian College is around the corner and there is always something going on there as well.

    Food and Dining

There is our dining hall, Benicassa- Benni's for short. In Benni's there's a variety of food each day and that is where they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Then there is the Sage Union where you can get snacks and chose from a variety of food such as, salads, tacos. pizza, subs etc.

    Dorm Life

Living in the dorms are great. There's an option of single rooms, double room, and quads. If you choose to get a suit you will have a personal bathroom but if you do not get a suit you have to use the community bathrooms which get cleaned twice a day. There are also campus apartments you can move into after your sophomore year, but most upper class-man move off campus and get a house.

    Academic Rigor

Siena Heights is a liberal arts institution and it requires strong critical thinking skills and discipline. One advantage of going to a small university is the one on one relationships you develop with your professors and advisers. They are genuinely considered about our education and they push us to give 110% with everything.

    Tips for prospective students

Come in open minded. Most people think that because it is a small school and in a small town there isn't anything to do, or you will not have fun but that isn't true. Siena Heights student engagement always has things for their students to do and Adrian is a 30-45 minute drive from Ann Arbor and Toledo.

    In three sentences

Siena Heights University is a private liberal arts institution that gets you ready for your field of practice and it helps you grow as an adult. Siena Heights is a private university so the professor's and staff make you feel like family and as loved as possible. Choosing to go to Siena Heights University was the best decision of my life.

Most of the people in DPS are pretty cool, just dont be walking around with a beer in your hand and you'll be fine.

    Greek Life

1 frat and maybe 1 sorority .. basically dont come here if your looking for Greek Life. (Non-existent)

    Clubs and Activities

Shooting club, Bass fishing club, Human Trafficking awareness club, PRIDE, Fellowship of Chrisitan Athletes, SPARK, Dodgeball, and many more!

Great for these types of students

Wanting a liberal arts education. Prepared to jump through remedial hoops for financial aid. Especially for students who just want to make great friends and relationships with people in this small community.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Not to sure of any unusual traditions besides the Siena curse. Which basically means you talk about someone either behind their back or just talk about someone in general and then literally at that very moment that person shows up in the midst of your conversation about them.

    Bang for the buck

Siena's price for a private university is definetly the most reasonable if you live off campus (including the campus apartments) better off renting a house or another apartment in town for a cheaper cost of living.

    What to do for fun

There is a couple disk golf courses in town, student engagement is starting to come around with a new campus activities director. Siena is definitely on the upside of a growing university.

    Food and Dining

Food is not too bad. New student center is going in with much better food options. So ill give it a fair rating for now.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are very large in comparison to other schools. The bad thing about them is the heating system is boiler heat, so if you have skin issues its really going to suck.

    Academic Rigor

The academic rigor is difficult at times, but it is not an overabundence of remedial work once you get into your upper level courses.

    Tips for prospective students

This is a great school for nursing, religious studies, as well as for sports management.

    In three sentences

Siena Heights is great for the small class sizes as well as academic facilities. Majority of professors at Siena want to see each student excell and will push each student to their fullest potential. The athletic facilities are great as well.

    Dorm Life
