Great for these types of students

If you're unsure of what school you want to attend, or are unsure of what you want for a major, this college is a GREAT start! It has a great variety of classes and has contact with many other great schools that you can transfer to.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure to get involved! It makes the college experience so much more enjoyable and helps relieve the stresses of homework. But don't get lax on your homework--the professors expect you to complete your assignments on time.

    Am enjoying being here

Almost everyday there is something happening on campus that you get involved in! The atmosphere at Snow is very friendly and relaxed, yet very academic. It is very easy to make friends, and get involved! The many activities and clubs provides enough opportunities for all of the student body to be involved in many things. The Snow campus is not huge, and very easy to get around.

    Am learning a lot

I learned so much my first year! There are free student labs for every subject from Quilting to Math to Biology to Writing! Students who have already taken the classes are there to tutor, so the atmosphere is more relaxed than it would be if a teacher was tutoring. The tutors are very well trained and have helped me out with many assignments. The teachers, too, are always willing to explain confusing concepts and will even schedule times to work with you. The class sizes are very small compared to many schools; this creates a better learning environment for the student.

    Tips for prospective students

Some tips I would like to offer to any student interested in attending Snow College would be to make sure to apply for scholarships early. Snow College offers lots of financial assistance but there are important deadlines to pay attention to. I would also like students to know that they should apply for classes as soon as they can. Classes fill up quickly and you want to be able to take the classes that will help with your major or help you choose a major. Lastly, I would tell students to get involved. Snow has many activities, clubs, and organizations. I'm sure there is something for everyone to enjoy if you put the effort into finding it.

    Bang for the buck

Snow College is a great place to begin furthering your education. It is very affordable and has many scholarships and financial aid opportunities.

    Am enjoying being here

I am definitely enjoying attending Snow College. It is located in a small town in Central Utah. There are so much activities that happen at Snow and most of them I will remember for years to come. Snow is a small college and; therefore, very easy to make friends and meet new people which is very important part of the college experience.

    Am learning a lot

Snow College offers a great education. I have learned so much while attending. Classes are challenging but there is so much help that you never feel overwhelmed or that you can't do it. Almost every department has free tutors and labs you can attend to get extra help and I have never had a teacher that wasn't willing to stay after class and help me or set up a meeting later. The teachers at Snow are very helpful and they want their students to succeed.

Great for these types of students

Snow is a place where everyone can fit in. Just don't be shy. I am naturally shy but I let myself be known and had so much fun!

    Tips for prospective students

Have fun and get known. The teachers will help you if you need it so go talk to them. If you are wondering about going to Snow or a four year, go to SNOW! Get your General ED finished then go to a four year institution.

    Bang for the buck

Snow has so many scholarships that I was able to get a full tuition scholarship for academics along with more money for a music scholarship. In the end I had to pay for housing and that is all. It is definitely worth the money even if you are not able to receive a scholarship.

    Did enjoy being here

Although Ephraim, UT is in the middle of no where, there is always so much going on at the school. The student government and all the clubs are amazing at always having something to do on the weekends and during many days of the week. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and find your niche. Everyone is so kind and many are in the same level as you. It being a two year school, people always come and go so there isn't really the upperclassmen, everyone is on the same level. I loved the people and had so much fun.

    Did learn a lot

Snow helped me accomplish so much during the year I was there. I was able to get my associates degree in a year because of how much they allowed me to do! Classes are difficult, it being college, but they are very do-able. You learn so much and not only about the subjects of the classroom, but about life. Every teacher has a desire to see you progress and succeed.

Great for these types of students

Snow is great for anyone. While there I met farmers, city people trying to get away, and people from all over the world. There weren't cliques at Snow like there were in high school. I got along with everyone. Anyone looking for a fun, inexpensive way to start college should check out Snow.

    Tips for prospective students

My advice to those thinking about Snow College - APPLY! I never thought I'd go to Snow until a friend convinced me to apply. After applying, visit the campus. Find out if it's something you really want. Finding a college for you is a hard process, but worth it. Talk to those who have attended Snow and get more opinions about it. But most of all find out for your self and have fun! GO BADGERS!!!

    Bang for the buck

Tuition at Snow is very low. I actually spent the most of my money on housing. Depending on where you live, though, that can be avoided. I learned and enjoyed way more than enough for the money that I spent. There are free labs for every subject, free activities, and free friends.

    Am enjoying being here

The best part about Snow college is the location. Sure, there isn't a lot out there, but don't let that discourage you. I grew up in a small town and love the atmosphere of Snow. Because there isn't a lot we found inexpensive ways to have fun. From night games to all night card game tournaments to dance parties, there was always something to do. Plus, the long car rides for Denny's runs, late movies, or a spontaneous shopping trip can turn into great memories. The people are all very nice and accepting. It's almost impossible to walk on campus and not have someone say hello.

    Am learning a lot

While at Snow College I learned so much! All the professors were willing to help me outside of class and had an environment inside of class set up in a way where students weren't afraid to speak up. Not only did I learn a lot about math, English, film, education, and other such subjects, I also learned a lot about myself. Snow has activities going on almost every weekend and interacting with other students was a great way to learn.

People who may not be able to afford or gain acceptance to a university. It's a great place to get your GE or to start on pre stuff.

    Tips for prospective students

Enroll in Start Smart and come to a Snow Blast. That's where I decided to attend Snow

    Bang for the buck

Absolutely. Great education for how cheap it is. Snow's an awesome place.

    Am enjoying being here

You may not think that Ephraim UT has much to offer, but if you have good friends you don't even notice the boredom that may come. It's a great small town and there's plenty to do if you know where to look for it.

    Am learning a lot

The professors here are fantastic teachers who care about what they're doing. They honestly love teaching and want to see their students succeed. The small class sizes really help with your education; you get a lot more attention.

Looking for the average college experience Looking to make bonds with other people Music majors Don't have very much money Won't miss home too much

    Tips for prospective students

Know that if you don't have transportation you'll be walking around a lot, but it's not too bad. If you're on-campus housing like me, you'll actually want to stay in your dorm because of how fun it is, so plan some time to spend there! If you want a good place to study, the library is a really awesome place! Also, if you plan on getting a job, apply early because there aren't many there due to so many students and so little things to do.

    Bang for the buck

Everything is so cheap that I've literally been waiting for something saying I owe this amount of money to the college. I cannot believe I'm getting this education for the small amount. Best money I ever spent!

    Am enjoying being here

My only vice is that it's in a small town and I'm a city girl used to public transportation. Otherwise, I LOVE it and I never thought I would! The people here are so generous and so kind that I'm still surprised every day to have strangers come and say hello to me and actually compliment me! All the buildings on campus are close and I LOVE the activities that are going on! People here volunteer to go with you and actually have a really good time! I love the small town hospitality and everyone is in the same boat as you, so you can relate to each other!

    Am learning a lot

Every class is just absolutely filled with new information. I'm reviewing a little, but only to help me. In high school I was stuck reviewing, reviewing, reviewing thinking why am I in this class anyways? and now I'm actually interested in learning!

Great for these types of students

Snow College Richfield is more of a technical kind of college. They have other majors like business, nursing, and cosmetology and those majors do great, but they also have majors for drafting, mechanical engineering, car restoration, diesel mechanics, machining technology, and artistic endeavors.

    Tips for prospective students

This is not high school, you're playing with the big kids now. You don't have your mother to help clean-up after you anymore and the dorm rooms have surprise cleaning inspections at least once a month.

    Bang for the buck

Since it is technically part of Snow College, the prices were some of the cheapest in the state. I compared them to quite a few different colleges and universities.

    Did enjoy being here

I enjoyed it very much, the campus was smaller than Ephraim, which made it easier to get around and navigate. The classes were smaller too, so the professor could give you more attention if needed.

    Did learn a lot

I actually didn't go to the Snow College of Ephraim. I went to Snow College Richfield. My field of study was drafting and the Ephraim campus didn't have it, but the Richfield campus did. I did learn a lot, our professors were very professional and hands on.

Needing to get a head-start with your college credits and classes, Snow College is a good place to go for a start before a 4-year college/university.

    Tips for prospective students

Get all your generals done at Snow College while still attending all your classes needed for your major.

    Bang for the buck

I think that it is a great way to get any general education credits and a great start in your major. And the prices are not that much.

    Am enjoying being here

My classes are very small. And there is a lot of interaction between me with the other students and the teacher.

    Am learning a lot

Well I am learning a lot every time I go to class. There is so much that I need to still learn. But one thing that will help me is my Communications 2110 class that will help me to better communicate with family, friends, co-workers, and other acquaintances.

Find a schedule that works with you! Don't worry about friends being in your class because you can always make more! That's the great thing about this school!

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you stay on top of your homework and attend your classes. One of the biggest ways to get behind in your classes is if your don't attend. Also it is good to get a planner and write what you need to do for the day!

    Bang for the buck

This school is affordable and so is the housing on and off campus.

    Am enjoying being here

I have made a lot of friends because of the friendly campus! You always see people smiling at you as you pass from class to class. You can meet so many different people, and meet new people everyday.

    Am learning a lot

The professors here are great! They know what they are talking about and do the best they can to teach you. They teach you the right material to help you for your future! They are really nice and really do want you to suceed, so they are willing to stay after or meet with you when problems come up!

Great for these types of students

Most students will absolutely love Snow, but if you don't like small towns and want easy ways to entertain yourself (for example, walk down the street and go to FatCats or a water park), this just may not be for you. Many of the students here are from other small towns in central Utah. If you are a person who likes to feel like you are not just another body in a classroom, this place is for you. You will feel included and build great friendships.

    Tips for prospective students

Apply for scholarships, you will most likely get one. There are a few classes that are most everyone likes and recommends. Courtship and Marriage with Lynn Poulson, Bowling with Bob Trythall, Western Swing with Bob Trythall, Human Development with Kim Cragun, Intro to PE with Bob Trythall, and more. All the teachers I have had I have loved. Snow has wonderful teachers, just ask around and you'll find one that fits what you like. If not, you'll probably get a teacher that's great anyway.

    Bang for the buck

This is probably the cheapest school you can find for the quality that you get. It's only about $1200 for instate tuition a semester. The classes are great and like I said before, the campus has such a great atmosphere. The people here are so friendly and you really make great friends while you are here. The teachers care about you and there is a lot that you can do down here on campus that don't cost much. There is also Western Swing every Wednesday night for 2 or 3 $. This is part of the culture down here and it's wonderful!

    Am enjoying being here

I absolutely love Snow College. The atmosphere is great and everything is close to campus. The people are fun and nice. Even though Ephraim is a small town, there are many ways that students face the boredom. The school puts on a lot of activities for the students and there are a lot of great hiking spots here. There are also many ways to get involved otherwise with the school. There is an endless amount of clubs that a student can join, and the LDS institute near campus puts on activities for the students to do as well. If Snow was a four-year college, I would definitely stay here. Yet being a two year college is what makes Snow, Snow.

    Am learning a lot

Snow gives ample opportunities to learn. The class sizes are small and therefore students learn a lot more. The teachers tailor the classes to their students instead of making them so general. At Snow it feels as if the employees are teachers, not just professors. Teachers care about their students. I love that each teacher I have takes time for me. They learn my name and want to see me succeed. They are very willing to help students outside of class and each class I don't only learn about the subject but I also learn about life. Snow is a great place to learn about yourself as well as other things pertaining to school.

    Bang for the buck

The classes are excellent and it is definitely one of the most affordable schools in the state. However, it usually doesn't feel like a cheap school.

    What to do for fun

You definitely have to be creative with what you do for fun in Ephraim. School dances and parties are always fun, but friends will usually get together for bonfires and big movie nights. The more creative you get with your activities the better.

    Food and Dining

The food in both the bistro and the badger den is good, but almost never healthy. There is a salad bar option but that is really the only big thing they have that is health conscious.

    Dorm Life

The dorms, while one of the cheapest options, have stricter rules than most, many of them not making sense. It is a good way to learn to live in a community, but at times can be unpleasant.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are excellent and so are the professors, but it is a two-year college with only the introductory courses.

    Tips for prospective students

Try and be creative in the activities you choose to do. There is a lot of fun to be had, you just have to be the one to think of it.

    In three sentences

Snow College is a wonderful school to get started. It is excellent with its small class sizes to give students the individual attention they need. It is in a remote location to I hope you like small towns!

Snow College has a very reasonable tuition. It is one of the cheaper schools in Utah, but still gives you a very good education!

    Did enjoy being here

Ephraim, UT is so beautiful, and the campus is a very pretty campus. Ephraim is just at the base of the mountain, it makes it fun to be able to drive up the canyon, and see the beauty of the earth.

    Did learn a lot

I learned so much at Snow College. The class sizes are small, which is nice, for more student to teacher interaction. The teachers care about your education, and will work with you, to make you the best student possible.

apply for scholarships as early as possible. snow college offers many scholarships and financial aid but deadlines are important!! also register for classes as early as possible because they fill up fast and the choices left most likely won't help toward your major. and one last thing: get involved!! college will be so much better and less stressful if you go to activities and make new friends.

    In three sentences

snow college is a fun, affordable, and inspiring school. it's a great place to get a student-to-teacher relationship. it's filled with an uplifting atmosphere that motivates you every day to strive to achieve your academic goals and dreams.

Intramural sports are awesome. There really is a wide selection of sports to participate in.

Great for these types of students

There are lots of creative people at Snow College. Lots of music and art majors. These type of people seem to thrive at Snow.

You can become a true badger by kissing someone for 60 seconds while the bell tower goes off at midnight. Pretty fun.

    Bang for the buck

Snow College was the cheapest place I found that I could live away from home. Overall I am pretty satisfied with what I paid for.

    What to do for fun

Honestly you have to find your own fun in Ephraim. If you get to know new people, somebody always has an idea, so my advice would be to make new friends. There is a movie theater, and a bowling alley, and the Recreation Center is pretty decent. You can also play ping pong and pool at the institute. We went up the canyon a few times to have a campfire.

    Food and Dining

I had a Munch Card meal plan because I had a cooking apartment so I didn't spend a lot of time at the Student Center. I would get a sandwich for lunch once a week there with my Munch Card. It was always pretty good.

    Dorm Life

I lived in Castilleja Hall, and I plan on going back in the Fall, because I enjoyed it so much. There were quite a few clams in the hall that didn't want to get to know new people, but I definitely made some life long friendships while in Castilleja.

    Academic Rigor

I was really challenged by my math class. The teacher was willing to help anybody to succeed however. The rest of my classes where fairly easy, the teachers put the time in to help you learn, and enjoy the subject.

    Tips for prospective students

If possible, go down and visit the campus. That's what really sold it for me. I felt like the teachers and councilors wanted me to succeed. I didn't think I would like the small campus feel, but it really grew on me; so go down and visit the campus.

    In three sentences

Snow College has a small town feel, but has big dreams. Students there are passionate about their future career. There is an environment of growth and productivity, that will take you from where you are to where you need to be!

Ephraim is a small town. I have never felt the least bit unsafe on campus.

    Greek Life

So far as I am aware, there isn't any.

I haven't had much experience in this field.

Great for these types of students

If you are planning on majoring in anything to do with music, Snow is a great choice. Not only are the facilities great, but Snow College has a partnership with Julliard, providing very unique learning opportunities.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

I am not aware of any.

    Bang for the buck

The facilities and faculty at Snow College are outstanding. When compared to the low cost of tuition and housing, I sometimes wonder how such excellent resources are maintained.

    What to do for fun

If you're an outdoors person, the mountains are literally just off campus. Student activities occur regularly, but I must admit I have attended very few of them.

    Food and Dining

The culinary selection in Ephraim, UT is very limited. However, as it is essentially a farming community, there is lots of fresh produce available in season.

    Dorm Life

As mentioned earlier, I was not particularly impressed with the dormitories at Snow College. There are many options for off-campus housing.

    Academic Rigor

I have been very impressed by the qualifications and capability of Snow College's faculty. Virtually ever professor that I have had has kept me engaged and learning throughout the duration of their course. The work is hard, but it is very worthwhile.

    Tips for prospective students

As Snow College is a small school, be sure to check beforehand to be sure your desired programs are offered. I would also advise against staying in the dormitories. I have experienced both on- and off-campus housing, and greatly prefer the latter.

    In three sentences

Snow College provides an excellent atmosphere for productive learning. The prices are very reasonable, the faculty and staff are excellent, and the location is beautiful. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience here.

    Bang for the buck

The tuition is low, and housing is also quite low. I am living in a pretty great off campus apartment for a really great price. And most off campus apartments and houses are only a block from the school.

    What to do for fun

During the full moon at midnight, couples come to the clock tower and kiss. If you come wearing red, it means that you haven't been kissed and are available. Doing so makes you a True Badger.

    What to do for fun

This is probably the only downside to Snow College. The town in tiny, and so there is next to nothing to do on the weekends. There are two very small movie theaters in town, and a Redbox, and that is pretty much it, unless you want to go play at the park.

    Food and Dining

There is a cafeteria at the student center, which serves a variety of food, and there are two grocery stores just about a mile from campus. There is also a Little Caeser's, McDonalds, and a local shake shop just down the road from main campus.

    Dorm Life

I lived on the on-campus dorms, which are all a bit old, but still functioning. There are several other options besides them, however, and I would recommend looking around at all of the options available before you decide on anything.

    Academic Rigor

A lot of the harder classes like math and science can really push you to work you to death, but generally the classes are easy to understand and the work load is similar to high school. Also, most of the class sizes are fairly small, which gives the professor the opportunity to focus more on the students.

    Tips for prospective students

There are plenty of different programs at Snow, everything from music to engineering, and its great for just getting your general studies as well.

    In three sentences

It is small, focused on the students, and is very accredited in many of its various programs. I met people from across the country, even international, who all came there and had an amazing time! Also, the tuition costs aren't that bad either.

    Campus Safety

Except for the occasional drug bust, Snow College has a very safe campus and surrounding area. In the last three years of me going to Snow College, the most dangerous part of living in Ephraim occurred when a mountain lion was seen around campus two years ago. There are very few incidences that are severe enough to warrant major safety concerns.

Great for these types of students

It's great for all kinds of students, but beginning in the 2012-13 year Snow College's music program will start its 4-year program, the first 4-year program at Snow. Being the only community college affiliated with the Juilliard School of Music west of the Mississippi allows music majors to learn from some of the best musicians in the world today, with workshops and concerts promoted by members occurring quite often at Snow.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

I'm not aware of anything unusual that goes on around campus. Around the rest of the area, I know of a few strange things.

    Bang for the buck

It's a junior/community college, cheap yet a great place to learn and prepare for further schooling at a university.

    What to do for fun

I'm not the kind of person who goes and does things outside of what's going on in my dorm/apartment. There are plenty of school-related activities throughout the year for people who like to do those kinds of things.

    Food and Dining

Because it's a small town, there aren't way too many places to go out and eat. There are several fast-food restaurants around along with more classical eating establishments as well. Two of the best places to eat at, in my opinion, are the little 50s style Diner and the food at the local bowling alley.

    Dorm Life

The people around Snow College are nice enough folk who don't care what kind of background you have prior to coming there. Although I'm not one who goes out and really participates in any activities, there are still plenty of things around town to do throughout the year.

    Academic Rigor

The classes I take for an engineering major are all quite hard. However, being it's a junior college, there are also a fair amount of people who go just to get their general education credits taken care of. Because of that, I feel that some of the classes aren't as challenging as they ought to be.

    Tips for prospective students

Because it's a small college in a small town, it's not as hectic as being at a university or a more urban area. The professors are willing to help in whatever way they can. Just make sure that you're going to not only learn, but also to have fun and grow as a person.

    In three sentences

For it being a junior college in a small town, Snow College definitely provides me with the knowledge I need and most of the classes required before entering a major program at a university. Having smaller classes when compared to universities ensures that I always get help in what I need, whether from previous or current students of a course or the professors themselves. Most of my classes have been quite close, and most students get along and help another as needed.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is the place where everything can be crazy to quiet. All depends on how you perceive it, I really loved my dorm and the craziness that came with it. That is where you will make friends first is at the dorms.

    Food and Dining

There are lots of cute little restaurants and malt shops. We also have little Caesars, McDonald's, and subway.

    Dorm Life

There are lots of cute apartments and dorms.

    Academic Rigor

Some classes are hard but there are lots of classes for people who want something slower.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't take too many hard classes at once try to take one or two hard classes so you can focus on them more. Go out of your comfort zone and do all the activities that you can.

    In three sentences

Snow is a great transition from high school to college. It has small classes with lots of teacher attention. Since its a small college in a small town its a great close knit safe community.

    Campus Safety

Campus security is always there if you have a problem and I always felt safe.

    Clubs and Activities

There are a ton of clubs and all kinds of activities. Spanish Club, The Club, Western Swing, Square Dancing, Dead Cats Society, Drama Club, Poetry Club, High Adventure Club, Ballroom Club, Japanese Club, French Club, Multi-Cultural Club... Tons and tons and tons. At the beginning of each semester the college does an event called Club Rush where all the clubs set up booths. You can learn about all the different clubs and sign up for the ones you want to join.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There is a bell tower in the middle of campus that chimes the time everyday and such. A tradition associated with the bell tower is True Badger night. To become a True Badger (Snow College's mascot is a badger), you have to kiss someone under the bell tower at midnight on the night of a full moon. The college actually sponsors the activity and you can buy t-shirts for it and stuff. It's really fun :) There's also a giant Easter Egg hunt on campus for Easter. They hide hundreds of eggs on campus that are either filled with candy or cash prizes. It's crazy! Hordes of people. And it's so much fun. My roommate found one that had $5 in it. I just got candy, but it was worth it.

    Bang for the buck

Snow College is one of the least expensive colleges in Utah. It's absolutely worth every penny.

    What to do for fun

You have to remember that Ephraim is little itty bitty, so there's not a mall or a lot of places to go. But that's one of the things that I loved about it. You and your roommates and friends find fun things to do on your own. I went four-wheeling up in Ephraim Canyon, campfires up the canyon, played on the playground at Ephraim Elementary, late night Denny's runs to Salina or Nephi, rock climbing in Maple Canyon and so much more. Roy's Pizza does Western Swing every Wednesday night, which is really fun. And there's almost always something going on on campus or at the LDS Institute building. Dances, BBQs, game nights, etc. It's so much fun!

    Food and Dining

The on campus dining is awesome. If you live in the dorms you also have to buy a meal card that you can use at the Badger Den on campus. The food is super yummy and they take good care of you :) Off campus there's not a ton because Ephraim is a teeny tiny town. There's a McDonald's and a Little Caesar's Pizza. Local restaurants that I really, really like are Roy's Pizza (Pizza, pasta, etc.), Snow Dragon (Chinese), and Melena's Cafe (Mexican). Yummy.

    Dorm Life

I never lived in the dorms, but I had some friends who did and they liked it. Personally, I preferred to live off campus. There are a lot of awesome off campus living options. They're all on the Snow College website snow.edu under the Students tab. I recommend Creekside or Snow Gardens :)

    Academic Rigor

The academic rigor really depends on the class. In general, the classes weren't impossibly hard. As long as you pay attention in class, do the assignments and take the tests you will be just fine :)

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved in as much as you can but don't overwhelm yourself! Get out there and have fun. Classes and grades are really important so don't ignore them, but make sure you have fun, too. Don't take a class earlier than 8:30 am. I took a 7:30 am class and it was so hard for me to be on time.

    In three sentences

Snow College has a beautiful campus, amazing professors, and an incredible student body. I absolutely loved my experience at Snow College!! If you're looking for a small school where you'll get a quality education, make lasting friends, and have a blast doing it, Snow College is the place for you.

    Clubs and Activities

Our student advisers work hard to keep the student body happy and entertained. There are always fun activities going on such as a foam dance, True Badger Night, tailgate parties before football games, and Mr. Snow pageants, to name a few.

Great for these types of students

Snow College brings in people from everywhere. It's a great place to get your start and choose a career path. It's a great place for anyone interested in music, as they are linked to Juilliard. It is also a big school for International Students. We currently have students from all over the world and all different countries.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

True Badger Night! During the full moon, people gather around the bell tower and kiss for the twelve strokes of midnight!

    Bang for the buck

Snow College is has such affordable tuition as well as housing, both on and off campus. They also offer a lot of different scholarships.

    What to do for fun

Since Ephraim is such a small town, there isn't really much to do, so the real fun is coming up with your OWN fun! The school constantly has activities going on to keep the students entertained and there are plenty of things you can do- hike up to the S on the mountain, or go for a Denny's run at 2:00 in the morning!

    Food and Dining

I've never actually eaten a meal in the cafeteria since I lived in an apartment with cooking facilities, but I've been into the cafeteria before and they seem to have a good selection of food to choose from as well as delicious shakes, smoothies, and treats! Local (off-campus) restaurants include: McDonald's, Subway, Little Caesar's, and two really good Mexican food places. There are also a few other restaurants in neighboring towns.

    Dorm Life

Snow offers both on-campus housing and off-campus housing, but since it's such a small campus, all of the dorms or apartments are within walking distance.

    Tips for prospective students

If you're considering Snow College, I encourage you to go for it, you wont regret it! If you want to get a sneak peek of what life would be like at Snow College, you should sign up for a Snow Blast and come see for yourself while spending the weekend being a Badger!

    In three sentences

If you're looking for a good college with many opportunities, a small campus, and excellent faculty, Snow College is the place for you. With the school being so small, there are so many more opportunities to be involved with, the smaller class sizes allow for more class participation and also allows for one-on-one time with the professors and you actually feel like the teachers know you and who you are.

    Clubs and Activities

There is an event called Club Rush every year that allows students to sign up for clubs that interest them. There are definitely plenty to choose from.

Great for these types of students

Snow College is great for students who do not know what they want to go into yet. It allows a diverse lineup of classes to take giving students the experience they need in order to settle into a major. It is also wonderful for music students as Snow is well known for its music program. A new four-year degree was just set into place starting Fall of 2012.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

An odd tradition Snow College offers is True Badger Night. During a full moon, students will gather around the bell tower and wait for midnight. Once the bell rings, they find someone to kiss and they become a true badger.

    Bang for the buck

This college offers a wonderful education for a fraction of the price students would pay elsewhere. The education it offers is deep if the students are willing to apply themselves.

    What to do for fun

The fun at Snow College is in the friends. Being such a small place, students have to be willing to find friends in order to have fun. The college offers plenty of activities for students to go hang out at, but for the most part, students just hang out with their friends. Some students find hiking outside of town is fun as well.

    Food and Dining

There is not much food and dining in Ephraim, but there is enough. If students are not satisfied with the Badger Den, they have other quality choices around town.

    Dorm Life

Whether you live in the dorms or apartments, students in Ephraim tend to be great people. This past summer a complete makeover has been in effect changing the dorms to fit the new school colors. While this was going on, the dorms were made to be more comfortable and livable. As for the off-campus housing, students get what they pay for. Do not expect luxury if you pay $800.00/semester.

    Academic Rigor

Despite being at a lower price than other Colleges and Universities, Snow College offers a competitive and rigorous education. If students are willing to apply themselves, they will leave Snow College more deeply knowledgeable than they have ever been in their lives.

    Tips for prospective students

If you attend this school, be sure to find some friends. Ephraim can be a difficult place to live if you do not know anyone. Create study groups and become familiar with your neighbors. If you do this, life in Ephraim will not be terrible.

    In three sentences

Snow College offers a diverse, quality education for those looking to get a first step into college. It is a great place for students just out of high school to become familiar with what the college setting has to offer at an affordable price. Furthermore, it is small enough that professors are always willing to work with their students in order to make it a wonderful learning environment.

Great for these types of students

    What to do for fun

There is plenty of hiking, four-wheeling, skiiing, football games, volleyball and basketball games. There is an International Cinema that is free and also has free popcorn every Tuesday and Wednesday night.

    Food and Dining

    Dorm Life

It's amazing! Everyone is so nice and willing to hang out. We have already had many movie nights and have even played a few pranks!

    Academic Rigor

    Tips for prospective students

If you want a college with pride and many fun things to do Snow College is it. It is also a school where you can get free tutors and even one on one time with your proffesors.

    Greek Life

There is no Greek Life at Snow College

    Bang for the buck

I think Snow gives you great value for your money. It's cheaper per credit than any other school in Utah. Universities are so expensive, and Snow is a great way to get your generals done for cheap and be ready to move to a larger institution.

    What to do for fun

There's lots of things to do that are fun. Because Snow is far away, a lot of people do stuff together on the weekends. Whether it's having a bonfire, having a party, or going to a basketball or football game, there's tons of stuff to do.

    Food and Dining

The food on campus is alright. I don't eat there much because I live off campus and I don't have a meal card. From the few times I have eaten there, it has been alright.

    Dorm Life

I live off campus, and a lot of people I know don't live in campus housing. The few people I know that live in campus housing like it, but wished they lived somewhere a little nicer. Snow has invested a lot of money into changing their housing to make it a lot more appealing.

    Academic Rigor

How tough school will be for you depends on the classes you take. Snow has very challenging math, science, and music classes. A lot of larger institutions respect courses taken from Snow because of how rigorous they are.

    Tips for prospective students

Find a good place to live on campus. Get to know your professors. Classes sizes are relatively small and enable you to develop relationships with your professors.

    In three sentences

Snow is a great school with engaged teachers and staff. There's always things to do due to the active student life. Snow's a great school for anyone looking for a cheaper, well respected institution that wants to transfer to a major university afterwards.

    Dorm Life

    Campus Safety

Campus is safe, every school activity has police just in case something occurs. In the time that I have been here we have had no major incidents that are a concern for the students safety.

    Clubs and Activities

Clubs are a very important part of on campus life. I am involved in the business club and I can say that it has changed my life. Since experiencing I have changed my career and am now on the path to doing something that I love.

Great for these types of students

Outdoor students will feel right at home. There is really something for everyone here you just have to find some friends which is not very hard to do.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The biggest tradition on campus would probably have to be true badger night. Every full moon students gather around the bell tower and at midnight they kiss.

    Bang for the buck

Realistically most people that come here are in it because of the price. This is probably the least expensive school in the state while maintaining good teachers and work ethic to prepare you for your transfer school.

    What to do for fun

There is not many fun things to do here but one has to be creative with time. I have done everything from going on road trips to running after deer. Most of the activities are outdoor and that is what makes it fun for me.

    Food and Dining

I would have to say that food and dining is the weakness of Ephraim, UT. There is only three chain restaurants here and those are McDonald's, Subway, and Little Caesar's. You don't have many places to chose from but that is what makes trips to Salt Lake City so fun, the different environment.

    Dorm Life

Living here has taught me many valuable lessons like how to deal with roommates and just being out of my parents home in general. I get emotional thinking about all the great life long friends that I have met here who have influenced me in ways that you can't imagine. Friends is what makes this small town manageable because you become so close with them.

    Academic Rigor

While some classes may be tough I can assure you that you have all the help you need. Working with other students is the way to go but if you need more help professors are always there to help.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are debating on coming to Snow College please take my word for it that you will have the best of times here. I suggest meeting with one of the amazing counselors so that you could have a better idea on what is required for your general classes. I wish I could have done it and and payed attention because I didn't realize what the requirements were until my second year.

    In three sentences

Snow College can be thought of as a boring place depending on who you ask. To me this is home, the small town atmosphere makes it easier to focus on my studies. Ephraim, UT has the only stop light in the county so that goes to show that your out in the middle of nowhere but I wouldn't have it any other way.

The cost is wonderful for in-state students. It is a bit steep for out-of-state. But there are scholarships available. I wish there was a bigger variety of classes offered, but overall it is worth every penny that you are paying for it.

    What to do for fun

Throughout the campus there are many clubs and organizations that organize activities every week. I don't think that I have been here for any week that didn't have at least one activity planned for it. But then if that is not your idea of a good time, there is a wonderful library, beautiful mountains, or you can always just walk around Walmart with your friends!

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria here is not all that great. They do not offer a whole lot of options, but I can tell that they are working on improving. If you stay in any sort of on-campus housing you are required to have at least a minimal meal plan, which I don't like at all.

    Dorm Life

The on-campus housing is great. It is a little bit more expensive than some of the off-campus housing in the area, but the sense of community you find is wonderful. The other residents in the on-campus housing are great as well. I have made friends that will be my friends even after we part ways.

    Academic Rigor

There are definitely more challenging classes, but overall the classes are not all that hard. The class size on average is fairly small which makes asking questions really easy. There are great math and English labs to help you with homework. Use them; that is why they are there.

    Tips for prospective students

Put yourself out there. Allow yourself to get involved and make friends. There are so many wonderful people here that you are sure to find some new friends. Smile as you are walking between classes. Others do it, too!

    In three sentences

Snow College has friendly staff who attempt to learn your name and will remember you even after you are no longer in their class. The students are generally kind and friendly. The campus and city are small enough that you can walk where ever you need to go.

    Campus Safety

Safe if you're smart. Don't walk alone at night. Don't leave your doors open. There have been a few cases of theft in some apartments, but mostly those were caused because people weren't smart about how they lived.

    Clubs and Activities

Lots and lots of clubs available, and weekly activities are constantly promoted throughout the year. They are usually also free or less than $5.

Great for these types of students

Small-town, lively, self-entertained. You do have to be creative to enjoy Ephraim because there isn't a ton to do, but people are constantly inventing new, fun things.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

My favorite tradition is probably True Badger night. On the full moon, once a semester, they hold a late-night dance and everyone kisses under the bell tower at midnight. Only fun if you have a date, though... not worth kissing a stranger......

    Bang for the buck

Snow is super inexpensive, and the housing is dirt cheap. Can't ask for a better education at this price - it's definitely better than any of the other 2-year colleges in Utah, and I would speculate, in the West.

    What to do for fun

Get to know the people in your division. You'll have much more fun if you make a few really close friends with the people you associate with most, rather than trying to spread yourself thin.

    Food and Dining

Ephraim is a small town. There are a couple of Mexican places, a Chinese place that's decent, and fast food. Not a lot of variety.

    Dorm Life

Varies on the dorm, but I spent one year in the dorms (my freshman year) and loved it. Great roommates, fun activities, clean living.

    Academic Rigor

The classes can be challenging, but in many cases you have to push yourself to learn as much as possible. The teachers expect more than just completing their busy work - they really want you to know the subject.

    Tips for prospective students

Join the Honors Program. The classes offered are interdisciplinary, provide an even smaller class size, and often the workload is minimal. They are mostly discussion-based classes, which provide insight into many different facets of the same subject.

    In three sentences

Snow College is located in the heart of central Utah, a rural town with a small population. Class sizes are small and teachers nearly always get to know their students on a first-name basis. This is a perfect jumping-off point for transfer students, as Snow College was recently named in the 10% of junior colleges in the nation.

Great for these types of students

Snow is a great place for students transferring out of high school that aren't quite ready for a large university setting. It's a great bridge from high school to college.

Ephraim has a strong Danish History, and the Islanders have a history as well. As a result of that there are annual Luaus and The Scandinavian Festival every memorial day weekend.

    Bang for the buck

Snow college is decently priced for the quality of education offered.

    What to do for fun

Ephraim is a small town where students can find lots of fun games to play that wouldn't work well in the big city. Ephraim has places for hiking and swimming, and Ephraim also has a bowling alley. There are also historic landmarks everywhere in Ephraim.

    Food and Dining

There are seven different restaurants in Ephraim, and the college has its own dining hall where students can gather and have a good time.

    Dorm Life

The dorms at Snow are safe and can help students to feel at home. People can come closer together and become a family so to speak by living in the dorms.

    Academic Rigor

Snow College is a place where a student has the opportunity to have classes with as much rigor as the bigger university's, but at the same time, have that one on one attention with the instructor with the smaller class sizes.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure that your schedule is what you want. Don't make yourself miserable by taking classes that you don't want or at times that you know you won't enjoy being in class(i.e early morning if you aren't a morning person).

    In three sentences

Snow College is a fantastic place where students have the opportunity to have a bridge the gap between high school and the big Universities. It's a place where students can have a rigorous schedule and still have an opportunity to be social and make friends.

Mostly, you have to use your creativity and come up with crazy things to do yourself. Occupationally there's a stomp or play or food festival, but mostly it's up to you and your roomies or friends to make the best of it.

    Food and Dining

There are lots of fun things to do in Ephraim such as, hiking, rabbit hunting, biking, long boarding and even Sasquatch hunting. You make a lot of friends and quickly learn how to make your own fun doing anything.

    Food and Dining

If you live in the Dorms at Snow College they offer meal cards to use at the cafeteria. I didn't live in the Dorms but I often ate at the cafeteria because their were so many options to choose from. There is also great local restaurants and a Wal-Mart near by to do your grocery shopping.

    Dorm Life

I lived in Park Place apartments and I loved it! There were always activities going on at the Club House and it was almost too easy to meet new people.

Snow College sets high expectations for their students but also offers the resources for students to be able to meet them. Snow College also provides opportunities for students to expand their knowledge about life in general and by educating students in many subjects. The science department is very hands on so it helps students learn the material and how they will apply it in future careers.

Attend at least one midnight Denny's run. The one I always went to was about 45 minute drive to Salina, and we always got there around midnight and 1 am. They were the most entertaining trips of my life. That is definitely a must complete tradition for while you are down there.

    Bang for the buck

If you live on campus and are trying to pick between the meal cards, if they still have them, get the most flexible one that lets you deal with the cash however you see fit, when I was down there it was called a bronze card and was definitely the best choice out of the three.

    What to do for fun

Go hiking. There are a ton of close by trails that you can walk to from campus. Enjoy the warm weather while you can and participate in every out-door campus activity possible.

    Food and Dining

For what Ephraim has it is pretty good. I went to this little cafe they had and was always impressed with their items, but my absolute favorite place was their Mexican Restaurant behind the movie theater on the south side of town. Their fajita's were to die for!!!

    Dorm Life

I spent my two years in a girls dorm. The first year was a blast and I made a ton of friends, but the second year was a little bit of a downer. It should be more fun with all the repairs they made but it is all dependent on who else is sharing your building.

    Academic Rigor

Not to harsh but this is college level so they will be expecting more from the students. But the teachers are understanding. I got super sick third semester in and could actively participate in my PE classes but with a note the teachers were completely understanding.

    Tips for prospective students

Winter in Ephraim is cold, as in your nose hairs will freeze every time you inhale. Bring lots of warm clothing when you come down, and things to do in the snow. My first year the snow drifts were up to my waist.

    Dorm Life

There are brand new dorms right across the street from campus. The apartments around town are fun to live in, too.

    Academic Rigor

The teachers at Snow expect a lot out of their students, as do college teachers at other schools. It's harder than high school, but it's supposed to be.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you talk to your teachers if you have questions about anything. Get involved in campus activities and you will make a lot of friends. Ephraim has a big farming community and in the fall, they heard the sheep off the mountain down city streets. Just imagine 5,000 sheep storming down main street as you're walking to class.

    Bang for the buck

My college tuition and off-campus housing combined costs less than just tuition at a major university near by.

    What to do for fun

Snow has a reputation for being a small town school with small town people. That is definitely not the case. Snow has tons of clubs you can get involved in. Because Ephraim isn't a major city, the student life office holds a campus-wide activity almost every week tot gets students involved with each other. Snow has athletic events almost every week too.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria on campus has really good food but their prices are high for a school cafeteria. They do have a bistro diner thing located in the library, but same situation. Good food, high prices.

    Dorm Life

Don't live in the dorms. Ever.

    Academic Rigor

Just like any college, it depends on the classes you take. Most professors take it easy on the general 1000 level classes. They give most freshman a semester to get used to college life. After that, be prepared to buckle down and focus on school because it's college and college is challenging.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't waste your money living in on-campus housing. Ephraim is a small town, most off campus housing is literally a 5 minute walk away and costs less than living in the dorms. Don't go home every weekend. Stay and participate in school activities! Go to the sporting events. You will meet so many people and make tons of new friends.

I look forward to the extra curricular activities if that is how many choose to put it. I am pretty sure Snow will never become a boring place to spend quality time by yourself or with friend. There will most likely always be something to do that will be worth experiencing.

    Food and Dining

I am pretty sure that most of whom are attending college have heard of the stories that dealt with students constantly eating peanut-butter sandwiches, ramen noodles, or any sort of meals that are cheap and worth eating. That's what I expect during my meal times at Snow.

    Dorm Life

I am not to sure about life on campus, but what I've been told that the experience will be unforgettable.

I forgot what the exact date of this is, but some time in November is an event called Badger Night. At midnight on Badger Night, a conglomerate of people just start making out with each other, which makes them True Badgers. That's literally it. To quote a friend who was there but did not partake in the, er, activity; Standing in a sea of people sucking faces is really gross and really surreal.

    Bang for the buck

The place, for its academic caliber, is so outrageously cheap that I'd implore everyone to attend Snow for their associates if they're looking for a relatively inexpensive, but still reputable education.

    What to do for fun

There are a looot of clubs and groups at Snow. For the time I was there, it seemed as if an event was happening at least every other day. There isn't a shortage of things to do in Snow, despite Ephraim being completely isolated from most of modern civilization as a general rule. Go to a game, work out for free at the Activity Center, attend a play, etc.

    Food and Dining

The Badger Den's food is, on average, REALLY good. I wouldn't get a meal plan for it as I am a poor college student and I can make $20 last 3 months, but I went there occasionally to get sandwiches or pizza and you'd be surprised how well the food is made. Their lemon bread is tremendous as well.

    Dorm Life

I didn't live in the dorms during my time in Snow, so I can't give you a firsthand review about it. Much like many other things in life, dorm life is primarily dependent on what YOU do with it. From what my friends and acquaintances tell me, it's not much different from any other college or university. There are ups and downs, as with anything else.

    Academic Rigor

You'd think that for a 2-year college, Snow wouldn't have much to brag about where their academics are concerned. I can tell you straight-up that this is a complete and utter lie. For example, there is a Psychology 1010 class taught by a certain professor (whose identity I will leave you to figure out yourself) that, while engaging and interesting, is nothing short of demanding where work and quality are concerned. Most of the professors here care about teaching. By that I mean they aren't professors just for their own benefit, they want to educate students and help them learn as opposed to simply writing dissertations and leaving students with packets of dull, mind-numbing work.

    Tips for prospective students

Understand that you will be at least 1 hour away from any actual city and that no public transit goes through Ephraim. The population is heavily concentrated on conservative thought and LDS culture, which may not be the greatest thing in the world for some people. Don't be afraid to seek help in any capacity or context because there are people on campus whose jobs are literally just that--helping students. Also, keep your mind open. Heaven knows not enough people in the area do.

    In three sentences

Snow College is in the middle of nowhere and this is literally the best thing that could happen where studying is concerned, as you'll have more time for it since there's little to do. Wildlife sometimes crosses through Ephraim like they don't even care and it's hilarious. Our performing/liberal arts programs are pretty great for the relatively low costs.

    Campus Safety

Snow is such a safe school. I am a girl and I have never felt unsafe at this school. I have had to walk around campus alone at night before and there are lots of lights and there are campus police if you ever needed help. There aren't gangs or a lot of trouble in Ephraim. With it being a smaller school I think it helps people also feel more safe. Most people are very friendly and there aren't people that you feel afraid of.

    Greek Life

I'm not sure what is meant by GREEK LIFE, but if it was geek life then yes there are plenty of activities and things for geeks too. The library in such a cool place to hang out and people feel welcomed and enjoy themselves and also get some work done there too. We are all geeks and are working hard to get a good education so it is a school full of geeks.

    Clubs and Activities

The are countless clubs and activities at Snow. It is really easy to get involved and there is really something for everyone. If you don't like the clubs they have you can make your own. There are sports, science, education, music, and dancing clubs. A lot of the students really like being involved and join all sorts of clubs and do random fun activities.

Great for these types of students

Snow is really great for music students because they have a program with Juliard. This is the only four year program at snow and it is amazing. I am going into the medical field and it is also great for that. They have great science teachers that work very hard to make sure you learn things well and do good. They have an awesome business program too that I have heard really prepares people to go into business and entrepreneurs succeed.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

True Badger Night is a fun tradition Snow has. Going to the Keebler house is a must see. The Sugar Plum Cottage is somewhere you have to go for the best snow creams of your life and the dances are very involved and epic.

    Bang for the buck

Snow College is definitely worth your money. It is very inexpensive and you still get a great education. I don't see why you would pay more when you can get a phenomenal education for less money. There is cheap housing, tuition is low, and entertainment is mostly free because we make our own fun.

    What to do for fun

There are lots of fun things to do that you can't do at some other bigger colleges. Since Snow is in a small town we can go hiking, mudding, and shooting. There are literally always activites going on on campus and usually stuff going on off campus too. The 10 minute dances at 10, the Keebler House, and driving up and over the canyon are only some of the fun crazy things to do.

    Food and Dining

There isn't a ton of options in the little town of Ephraim, but what they do have is pretty good. Malena's, similar to Cafe Rio but better is really good. There are some options and Manti is close so you can go there for food too.

    Dorm Life

I live at apartments just right off of campus, but they are so fun. There are activities about once a month that brings the apartments together to meet people and enjoy free food, activities, and each others company. They put you with great compatible roommates, and it is a healthy, safe, clean place to live.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are good, most of my professors were very helpful and the classes were doable. There was enough work to keep me busy, but not so much so that I was so stressed out that I couldn't handle it.

    Tips for prospective students

Snow College is very good at inviting high school students and people looking to go to Snow to come. They try to explain how much fun it is and what a great experience you will have there, but you won't really understand what they mean until you go there. It is a cheap small school that is perfect for the beginning of your college experience.

    In three sentences

Snow College is a great environment, with a beautiful campus and small town feeling. The classes are small and professors are very personable and invested in your learning. The students are fun loving, there are tons of inviting activities, and classes are enjoyable.

Great for these types of students

Not looking for too big of a shock with coming right from high school. Someone who cares about their education and wants to learn.

    Bang for the buck

We have the cheapest tuition in the the state of Utah and with only 19 students on average in a class, your professor knows you and you aren't just a number.

    What to do for fun

What do you do for fun back at home? Most answer hang out with friends. You do that here too, just with about 4,000 more kids. We have movie theaters and places to explore. Our awesome student council has something going on with the campus almost every week, so there is always something to look forward to.

    Tips for prospective students

Just be yourself. Don't be afraid to ask questions. And I know that you want to get the 4.0 and not gain the Freshman 15. You can do all that and more, just don't forget to be social.

    In three sentences

A quality education that is affordable and fun. You basically live in a neighborhood of 4,000 kids who are all your age and want to be your friend. As a freshman, I get to do things that at bigger institutions I would have to wait till I was a junior or a senior.

Great for these types of students

    Those with NO other options.

    What to do for fun

Get outside and play. The mountains are close. As for on campus activities, there are a few clubs that really have a good time, but the student government is lacking in organization.

    Food and Dining

Poor quality, over priced, and all too often closed.

    Dorm Life

    Over priced for the area.

    Academic Rigor

The strong history at Snow was run out of town by the last administration. Glad he is gone...

    Tips for prospective students

Don't go there. One of the current add campaigns is we accept you. That's because they would accept anybody as long as they paid. If you have better prospects use them.

    In three sentences

The Has Been of Utah colleges. The staff is less than helpful, generally the faculty is there because they can't cut it other places.

    Bang for the buck

Snow college is known for the affordable price. I definitely think that the education i have received is definitely worth what i have paid to be here.

    What to do for fun

In the small town location, it is hard to find entertainig stuff to do. The student life tries to put on activities that are fun and get students out and active.

    Food and Dining

Honestly, the food isn't the best. It isn't bad but it isn't my favorite.

    Dorm Life

I love living in a dorm. The roommate aspect is hard but it helps you to get to know who you really are. If I did my freshman year over again I would pick to live in a dorm again. Each week the residence life puts on a program that gets you to know the RA's and the other students living in your building.

    Academic Rigor
