I'd say to be open and make friends. Community college is meant for 2-years, and 2-years just really isn't enough time to make connections gradually. Especially since the students come from all over the place. Speak up, join a club or two, make some connections and friends. I've been advised to join the Student Government- you get free parking, priority registration and you plan events, of course. Also, schedule an appointment with a counselor, register for classes and submit your FinAid papers ASAP! It's very hard to get an appointment or the classes you want if you do it last minute, and the FinAid office always has a long line and can take a long time to process things, especially since their hours have been cut. read full review
