What Students Are Saying
College now a days in general is expensive, and Sonoma state costs roughly about $20,000-$21,000. If you try to get scholarships, grants, and apply for your FAFSA ahead of time, I'm sure you can get at least half of your tuition and fees paid off.

The CSU system has been hit hard in recent times due to the economic turmoil in the state of California, but it is hard to beat a federally subsidized education. A comparable education at a private school would be at least double the cost.

I wish the dorms cost less, but it is relatively cheaper than living off campus. The cost of education is cheap, but is high quality.

This CSU is one of the most expensive however that is because the area it is in. Very nice home-townish feel but you pay the price for it (about $20,000 in tuition alone)
My final choice came down to SSU or a private school in Chicago. We won't even talk about the weather, but I am getting so much, for so much less! I can go to SSU for 2 1/2 years for one year of tuition at the other school, and I am getting a great education.

Tuition is currently high, however that is a state issues, not the sole fault of SSU. However, the small campus feeling provides a huge, positive affect on the academic experience.

Sonoma State is a state university so it is fairly reasonably priced! Tuition is very cheap for the amazing classes offered! The housing options, both on campus and off campus, are decently priced as well keeping the overall cost of attendance very low and well worth it to attend SSU.
