I would recommend that students who think tney might be interested in attending SDSU definitely visit the campus and talk to professors of their majors. SDSU has so many opportunities thanks to its size and connections.

The keys for success at SDSU are no different than other schools. Unless you are violently, physically ill, always go to class. It is so easy to fall behind once you start skipping. Do all the assigned AND suggested work even if it seems remedial or unnecessary, it'll help cement concepts into your memory. Communicate with your instructors and advisor. Students who don't communicate often disengage and fall behind. Get involved on campus to get engaged and stay connected on campus. This makes it easy to feel a sense of belonging, which prevents you from dropping out.

Try to take as many college level classes in high school as you can, so by the time you come to college you won't have to take remedial courses.

For students considering SDSU, I'm excited for you! I would suggest doing research on tuition and housing as well as major options. However, try not to let 'research' scare you. South Dakota State University aids all individuals in need with transferring transcripts as well as financially. Additionally, there are many tours available if one would be interested in having a more hands-on experience with deciding if SDSU is the best option.
