Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. What Students Are Saying

The classes are small, making it easy to get personal help and to understand things a little easier. The professors and other students are extremely kind. And the campus and the school itself are small and make life easier so you don't have to drive everywhere and you know almost everyone.
Cristina from Buena Vista, VA
The place is beautiful, and very peaceful. The staff and teachers are super nice and helpful, and want you to do your best.
Lacy from Glenmont, OH
Southern Virginia University is unlike any liberal arts university because it embraces Christian standards and promotes a LDS atmosphere. The campus is just the right size and more beautiful than I would have ever imagined. The professors know who you are and would do anything to help you in their classes.
Haley from Richmond, KY
southern virginia university has helped to inspire me to reach my goals. the small school atmosphere allows me a closer relationship with my professors who are willing to work with students and help them in any way that they can. the students are friendly, have a natural glow about them, and are all here for the same reason: to succeed.
