    Make sure you do well your freshman year of college. It really sets the tone for not only your GPA, honors, and scholarships, but also what activities you can participate in later on during your undergrad career.

    Make sure you get your money in order a good deal ahead of time. Apply for lots of scholarships, talk to financial aid, turn in fafsa, etc. Spelman is a private school and it is very expensive so they do not give out many big ticket scholarships.
