Great for these types of students

Pre-med majors, art majors, nursing majors, social people.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you visit the campus before you decide to go to Spring Hill Collge. Understand that the tuition at Spring Hill is high, and you may have to get student loans.

    Bang for the buck

Spring Hill College is pretty expensive. The classes are good, and the campus is beautiful. The dorm rooms are a little shabby, but the food is okay.

    Am enjoying being here

Being away from home is hard. Spring Hill requires you to live on campus (unless you live with your parents near the school). There is always an activity going on on campus, and there are several sororities and fraternities. There's always something to do.

    Am learning a lot

Spring Hill College has a lot of core requirements. They offer a well-rounded education, though most of their required classes fall into the liberal arts category. The instructors are all very eccentric, so classes are usually pretty interesting.

Great for these types of students

Since Spring Hill is a liberal arts school, it is great for students than plan to major in any field of art.

    Tips for prospective students

Students should always take notes, and study breaks during the week.

    Bang for the buck

Spring Hill College is an expensive school, but the professors and faculty go out of their way to help students.

    Am enjoying being here

I love attending Spring Hill College, there is always something going on.

    Am learning a lot

Spring Hill is a great school, and the professors make sure that you are doing well, and they try their best to help your study skills. They also offer many office hours during the week to tutor students.

    Tips for prospective students

Work 1st then Party, in that order only, the work here is challenging and it requires time. Take advantage of ALL of the provided resources!

    Bang for the buck

As an incoming freshman I have learned not to listen to the people around you when it comes to money, always refer to the financial aid office.

    Am enjoying being here

    I LOVE IT HERE!!!!!!!

    Am learning a lot

Spring Hill College gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself and to do things that you would have never thought was possible.

Great for these types of students

Students that are serious about their education, but want a small school atmosphere.

    Tips for prospective students

Study hard and do not be afraid to go to your professor for help.

    Bang for the buck

Be sure to always ask financial aid your questions and not to just listen to the students around you. Financial aid was able to help me a lot.

    Am enjoying being here

I LOVE it here! There is always something going on and many ways to become involved not only on campus but through volunteering in the Mobile area too!

    Am learning a lot

The classes are tough at times and the core requirement helps the students to become more well rounded in their studies. In addition, the professors are nice and by it being a small school you are able to have a more personal relationship, therefore it is easier to ask them for help when need be.

    Campus Safety

public safety patrols regularly, but they arent overbearing. there really nice people too. you feel safe, not like your in prison, and typically they wont bother you.

    Greek Life

don't feel like you have to be in a fraternity or sorority to have fun here. there is a great sense of unity among the student body as a whole regardless of whether or not your a greek. with that said, greek life here is awesome! we don't have many fraternities or sororities on campus, but the ones we do have are great.

    Clubs and Activities

spring hill has a good number of organization here on campus and they are fairly visible around campus. some are more visible than others.

Great for these types of students

spring hill is really great for social students. people who like to get out there and meet people and make connections. the bond on this campus, whether it be with professors, staff, or other students is so strong you need to be social to truly capitalize on it. spring hill is also a great place if you came from a small school like me and you wanted to maintain a strong relationship with your teachers.

    Bang for the buck

you get so much individualized attention. i know that when it comes time for me to need a letter of recommendation, my teachers are not only familiar with my grades, but who i am as a student and as a person.

    What to do for fun

mobile isn't exactly fun central. downtown is cool but after 12pm if you under 21 you technically not supposed to be down there. you can usually find something on campus. for us under 21 there is bojangles or 5'4'. in short, don't expect to go to a raging night club or rave every weekend, you will be let down. its not impossible to have fun, you just have to know where to look, and most of the time, its right under your nose.

    Food and Dining

the caf food has its on days and its off days, most of the time its not bad. the cloister is our sports bar on campus and it is soooo good! java city has decent coffee. we also have five guys close by, and you can find pretty much every restaurant imaginable if you go one street over to airport blvd. pizza hut across the street takes badger bucks (which come with your meal plan) which is really nice when your super poor.

    Dorm Life

dorms are dorms, don't expect a palace. with that said, the rooms are good sized and the furniture is sturdy and not horrendous looking. if you have issues sharing bathrooms, i suggest you apply for a learning community in viragh hall (if your a freshman) then you only share with 2-3 people as opposed to an entire floor. new hall and skips place are good ideas for upperclassmen with bathroom sharing problems.

    Academic Rigor

spring hill is challenging, but not impossible. professors are always available to help you, and the workload isn't bad either. a lot of times if you go to class and form a good relationship with the professor, your life will become exponentially easier.

    Tips for prospective students

tip 1. invest in a really nice pair of rain boots and a sturdy umbrella. tip 2. get involved. clubs, volunteer work, greek life. you wont feel like a nerd for doing it because everyone does it! tip 3. don't bring too much stuff with you. you will acquire tons more junk over the course of the year.

    Campus Safety

Our Campus Safety has been through a transitional phase, and Public Safety is currently working to become trained police officers in order to better protect the student body. The campus can be entered from two main gates, one of which is closed at nightfall requiring all entrants to pass an ID check with a security guard. Public Safety is only a phone call away and they will do anything to keep you and your property safe. On a stormy night, Public Safety even walked me back to my dorm room.

    Greek Life

Greek Life includes three fraternities: Tau Kappa Epsilon, Lambda Chi Alpha, and Delta Chi. It also includes three sororities: Delta Gamma, Phi Mu, and Delta Delta Dela and two minority sororities: Alpha Kappa Alpha and Delta Sigma Theta. Greek Life offers many leadership, service, and educational opportunities as well as fun events for its members.

    Clubs and Activities

Clubs on campus include: Student Government, Campus Programming Board, SHAPe(a retreat for college students), TAG3(a retreat planning team), Pro-Life, Ladies Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus, Green keepers Club, Chemistry Club, Art Club, Drama Club, Residence Hall Association, Multicultural Student Union, Anime Club, and many more. Club sports including Volleyball are also popular.

Great for these types of students

Students that want a big school education but a small school atmosphere.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The history of Spring Hill College is rich and dates back to 1830. With that being said, many of the places on campus were once prized gems that are no longer actively used. Many students love to explore these locations. Also, as a freshman, you walk down the Avenue of the Oaks on the first day and you are welcomed into the community. Graduation is held on the the Avenue of the Oaks which allows the Seniors to walk down the Avenue for one last time. Homecoming on the Hill is the yearly reunion that occurs for Spring Hill College Alumni.

    Bang for the buck

As previously mentioned, the price tag of tuition may seem a little discouraging but scholarships largely offset those costs. Combining the education, community and family atmosphere, array of activities always going on, and gorgeous campus landscape, Spring Hill College is worth every penny.

    What to do for fun

Campus Programming Board and Student Government Association plan weekly activities on campus including concerts, craw fish boils, mixers, movies, and dances.

    Food and Dining

Aramark provides the dining services for Spring Hill College. Dining services consists of a buffet style cafeteria, late night food joint, and coffee shop. The cafeteria offers a variety of food and makes outstanding desserts.

    Dorm Life

Although the dorms are a little rough for wear because they are older buildings, the Resident Assistants are extremely helpful and provide great programs to become acquainted with your fellow residents.

    Academic Rigor

Spring Hill College is listed on the list of A+ schools for B students. The honors curriculum is the most challenging and requires extensive writing. The sciences are known for their difficulty but success in preparing their students.

    Tips for prospective students

Prepare to study hard, work hard, and play hard. Although the price tag may be a little discouraging, Spring Hill offers many scholarships which make it a great deal for an outstanding education. The best advice I can offer is to get involved. The community at Spring Hill will become your family and the best way to get to know people is getting involved in one of the many programs on campus. Once a Badger always a Badger.

    In three sentences

Spring Hill College is much more than a place of higher learning-it is a home. The community here reminds you of a small town; yet, the school is located in the middle of Mobile, a large city with much to offer. The classes are challenging but engaging with professors who will know you personally and work to help you succeed.

    Campus Safety

Public Safety is very good, they are interested in the well being and protection and all-around safety of the students.

    Greek Life

The current fraternities are TKE, DXA, LXA, and SXA. Sororities are Tri Delt, Phi Mu, AKA, and Delta Gamma

    Clubs and Activities

Greek life is limited but also thriving. There are multiple clubs on campus and many club sports.

Great for these types of students

Great for Pre-Med (90% acceptance rate). Also for people who like the feeling of a small town or people who get homesick easily.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The baseball field is the oldest standing collegiate baseball field in the world. Students typically sit on top of the dugout and socialize. Many people bring lawn chairs and coolers.

    Bang for the buck

Unless you earn a scholarship, I wouldn't advise coming here because the tuition is pretty steep because it is private. It's small so not many places outside of the state of Alabama know about it.

    What to do for fun

Campus is close the beach and to a couple malls. There is a golf course on campus. The Greek system always has stuff going on around campus.

    Food and Dining

The food is slowly getting healthier and tastier.

    Dorm Life

The best part about campus are the senior apartments.

    Academic Rigor

The professors are very understanding and will help you with your issues, but they also expect you to do all the work on your own then ask for help if necessary.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you stay on top of your studies in you hard classes; it's very easy to fall behind. Don't live in Toolin Hall because it is so far away from the rest of campus.

    In three sentences

It is a very small campus, and everyone must live on campus or with their parents, which makes it see more like a community. The class room sizes are much smaller than most other colleges, which means your professors get to know you on a better level and are more likely to help you with issues. It is a very beautiful campus.

New Orleans is not far away. The beach is about 30 minutes away. There is always something going on one campus too.

    Food and Dining

The food is not always great. There are days when you wont find anything to eat. Badgerbucks come in handy.

    Dorm Life

    What to do for fun

Intramurals are the most enjoyable thing. Other activities such as Greek sororities or fraternities are very interesting as well. Remaining active is something that is very necessary.

    Food and Dining

The caf is good at times. It is the only consistent source of food that is on campus besides the coyster which is mostly late night dining but it is good and the best food on campus.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are nice and they are like communities. It is fun having a community surrounding you all of the time. All of the dorms are nice sizes also.

    Academic Rigor

Spring Hill is a challenging school. Your best bet is to work your hardest and get work out of the way. Do not let parties and enjoyment take over your time.

    Tips for prospective students

Be prepared for fun times but also be prepared to academically be challenged. Your best effort combined with help from professors should be enough but it is not easy. The campus life is nice and pleasurable for students.

    In three sentences

Spring Hill College is a wonderful place to learn in a smaller school environment. The school has small classes and dedicated professors. The students are fun to be around.
