    If you're applying, make sure you bring out everything that makes you unique and interesting. If you are planning on attending, make sure you try to immerse yourself in the community, but also make sure to spend a lot of time on your schoolwork. It isn't an easy college.

    If the social scene is a big deal to you, be aware that starting mid-year and/or commuting are going to make it harder- there are really great people here but students can be very clique-ey. Also make an effort to develop a relationship (a professional one!) with your professors; they are very approachable and most like to hear from students, getting to know them and making yourself known will really help you in the long run.

    Don't sweat about not knowing what to major in. You have time to settle on the campus and to start thinking about your future plans. Take things slowly, but don't procrastinate. College is a place where you need to plan your time because you are an adult. No more teachers telling you what you need to get done.
