I am consistently challenged at St. Mary's. Each of my classes has been interesting and informative, even in areas that I had already studied previously. As a sophomore, I have already learned so much academically, and I've also learned a lot about myself. St. Mary's is an honors college, not just a school with an honors program. Professors push you to see things in new ways, and class discussion is always informative.

Bordered by the St. Mary's River, surrounded by naturalized habitats and situated in part in Historical St. Mary's City, St. Mary's College of Maryland (not religiously affiliated) is a fascinating mix of history and nature, with a small, close-knit student body. It is the only college in Maryland that has been designated an Honors College, with most of the students taking between 16 and 18 credits each semester in classes, many double-majoring or minoring, yet even with rigorous academics, students have plenty of time to hang out with friends, go to lectures, hold jobs, participate in the vast number of clubs and sports, and study abroad. It's an incredibly close-knit campus, with accessible, knowledgeable professors, friendly students, and the ability to customize your academic experience to fit you.» Read More
