Around Town

There are a lot of on-campus activities like dances, concerts, and extracurriculars. Northfield is well known for Jesse James Days, which usually takes place soon after school starts. If Northfield is too quiet for you, Minneapolis and St. Paul are a half an hour drive away,a nd many students go to concerts and events over the weekend.

The Pause is not just a pizza place. It is also a sort of club. Dances in The Pause are held regularly, and have a very high turn out. The Pause also hosts a variety of entertainment, from magicians and hypnotists, to famous musicians. Some recent artists to note are Ingrid Michaelson, Ok Go, and Trampled by Turtles. There is also a little movie theater that shows movies that were recently in theaters. There is always some sort of awesome event happening over the weekend, thanks to the After Dark Committee and the Music Entertainment Committee.

This school has everything you need to have fun. They have an superb events coordination staff, which plays movies, concerts, plays, outings, dances, and things you never thought of that always give you something to do!

St. Olaf puts on many different activities throughout the year including dances, concerts and speakers, most of which are free. There are also dances put on by the ballrooms in town. There are a lot of different clubs and organizations to join that have their own activities. You can also go into Northfield and explore town, or even go into the Cities.

There are intramural sports, students organizations, and events hosted by the student government association.

Join a campus organisation!

There is usually something going on campus and if not you can always catch a concert up in the cities which is only 40 minutes away. A good time is always had in the intramural sports leagues which go on all year.

St. Olaf is a beautiful campus, so I loved spending time outside playing frisbee and campus golf during the spring and sledding during the fall. The Pause dances are always a good option too. There are always interesting activities going on, you just have to schedule them in.

For fun there are weekly events, frequent dances, and club activities.
