Our mission at Stetson University is to provide an excellent education in a creative community where learning and values meet, and to foster in students the qualities of mind and heart that will prepare them to reach their full potential as informed citizens of local communities and the world.

At Stetson, the art of teaching is practiced through programs solidly grounded in a tradition of liberal learning that stimulates critical thinking, imaginative inquiry, creative expression, and lively intellectual debate. The art of learning is enhanced through small interactive classes, close student-faculty alliances, and collaborative approaches that provide the foundation for rewarding careers and advanced study in selective graduate and professional programs.     Going to Stetson is not just a step towards better education. While education is important, the DeLand community makes it very easy to assimilate. The town is a very enjoyable friendly place to live, with many weekend activities open for the students to enjoy.

    Stetson is located in a small rural town, so there isn't much to do off campus unless you have a car and are able to drive out to Orlando or Daytona. On campus, however, Stetson has done a good job of keeping its students preoccupied. We have something called Hatter Productions on campus whose goal is provide activities for students like on campus movie nights or Stetson's Anual Winter Wonderland.
